Everyone is different, I suppose. I am very cautious with my 'high risk' activities. I once found on the ride up that I was not at all nervous. That made me nervous. I made the jump, but quit for the day. My reasoning is, if I'm not nervous about jumping out of an airplane, I'm not really paying attention. I once asked a senior jumper when the butterflies go away. He told me, "I'll let you know when it happens." I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. OK. The incident described said the guy had over 6,000 jumps, so he probably was an old timer following the old ways. I was just trying to make sure I understood the lesson to be learned. What am I seeing in that first video? I am only now assembling my first rig, so I've jumped rental gear to this point. Nobody ever mentioned what to do with a collapsible slider. The first time I found I had a collapsible slider, I secured the brakes, tested that I had a good canopy, then stowed the riser while retaining control of my brakes. It looks like this guy flew a while, stowed his riser...thereby pulling the grommets over his brakes and jamming them, then the rest was history. I'm not positive because the camera doesn't catch whether the one brake is trapped until after he fiddles with the riser. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. I just read the incident report in Parachutist where an experienced jumper cut away, but had a delay pulling his reserve until too late. As a refresher for me, why do people disconnect their RSL? I know it could be preparation for a water landing cutaway. I can see it as preparation to release if your main was caught in lines, tree, etc and you can drop to the ground. Perhaps if you were planning a CRW jump and wanted the chance to get away from people? That one's questionable. This guy was engaged in a four-way RW before breaking away and opening. Based on her prior responses, I'm pretty sure that's what it would take. Just because an erogenous zone exists does not mean it is the same for every woman. Much of a woman's sexual experience is tied up in emotions (no pun intended). Not for all women, but it is normal. Looks like Flight Concepts gives a very nice military discount. They do require a copy of a militay ID. So far, Red has been quite responsive and helpful. The prediction was for great weather this weekend. Had to work Saturday. Arrived at the DZ in Maubeuge Sunday to find the wind whipping it up. Only 170 and smaller canopies were being allowed to jump. I checked the prediction and it didn't show things changing. Went to the market in downtown Mons instead. I think that he got it just about right. I think he came close. I support anyone's right to criticize whatever they like. I oppose their desire to regulate something just because it does not fit their way of thinking. I also note that race is only the visual manifestation of what is criticized in most cases. It's more the 'belief' of the negative attributes of a race that are criticized. In that, race is not necessary. Reverse experience: The Combat Advisor Team I was with was assembling at KCI to head for Iraq. A Navy CDR and I were on a shuttle bus to our terminal. The very elderly gentleman driving asked if we were headed over. We confirmed it. When we stopped, he stood up to shake our hands. He mentioned that he served once. We asked when. "1942-45" We asked where. "On a mine-sweeper in the Pacific" We were floored. This man was on a mine-sweeper in the heavily mined Pacific Theater during the heat of WWII...and he wanted to shake OUR hands. We made him late for his next run with our praise and thanks. I'm not an expert in probability analysis, but... A. You get a mal every third or fourth jump. B. You only have one parachute. C. Well...after three or four jumps, there is no 'C'.
