I think Palin was a good pickup and I am looking forward to the speech tonight. If she does well it will bode extremly well for the RNC. The Biden pick created no excitement for Obama and Biden really brings no excitement to the Dem ticket. I think Palin will help sway alot of the undecided voters to vote for McCain. "Democrats will kneel before the “Temple of Obama” tonight. As if a Rocky Mountain coronation were not lofty enough, Barack Obama will aim for Mount Olympus when he accepts his party’s nomination atop an enormous, Greek-columned stage - built by the same cheesy set team that put together Britney Spears’ last tour. … “We’ve done Britney’s sets and a whole bunch of rock shows, but this was far more elaborate and complicated and we had to do it in far less time,” said Allen, of RDA Entertainment." It just keeps getting better and better. The most terrifying words in the English language are: I'm from the government and I'm here to help.

Democratic National Convention - The Saga is Just Beginning
AWL71 replied to lawrocket's topic in Speakers Corner
Maybe its old material but it is still funny. You democrats need to learn to laugh at yuorselves... I think it's a sign of desperation. It's certainly not a sign of inspiration nor perspiration. It certainly takes neither thought nor work to copy and paste. The most terrifying words in the English language are: I'm from the government and I'm here to help. -
Don't you know it is better to jaw-jaw than to war-war? Hitler and Hirohito were reasonable men and we should have taken the time to "reason" with them. The most terrifying words in the English language are: I'm from the government and I'm here to help.

Like McCain. Not so much. I am voting against Obama by voting for McCain. McCain is the lesser of two evils. I think McCain should give his acceptance speech from the set of the Starship Enterprise. Thats almost as ridiculous as Obama's parthenon. The most terrifying words in the English language are: I'm from the government and I'm here to help.

OK. So what is the deal with the Roman Temple replica stage at Mile High Stadium where BO is giving his acceptance speech tonight? When I saw the picture I couldn't help but laugh. That Barack has quite the ego. I wonder if Barack will wear a Socrates style toga? "I don't know that I would put Roman columns behind me if I had been accused of having a messianic complex,” Joe Scarborough said on MSNBC today. No. Invading China would cause Wal-Mart to go out of business and we can't have that. -
I wish you were right but I don't think so. If BO loses to McCain don't you think Hillary will run again in 2012? I do. The most terrifying words in the English language are: I'm from the government and I'm here to help.

I am not a big fan of Hillary but I thought she gave a good speech. And what she didn't say was most important. She didn't really push for Barack Obama too much. Her support is lukewarm at best. I think the Clinton's are pulling for McCain so Clinton Inc. can run in 2012. The most terrifying words in the English language are: I'm from the government and I'm here to help.

Exactly. I am not voting for McCain, rather I am voting against Obama. The most terrifying words in the English language are: I'm from the government and I'm here to help. -
Glad your friend is OK. These stories sure make me thankful for the 2nd Amendment. If this creep had approched my wife he would be looking down the barrel of a Glock 26. Glock and American Express, don't leave home without them. The most terrifying words in the English language are: I'm from the government and I'm here to help.

McCains VP choice-who would make him unbeatable?
AWL71 replied to warpedskydiver's topic in Speakers Corner
No choice would make him unbeatable but I think picking Romney would make the conservative base of the party happy. Picking Lieberman would be a huge mistake IMO. He would make a good cabinet member but not VP. The most terrifying words in the English language are: I'm from the government and I'm here to help. -
I say we ban poodles. What good is a little dog with a perm? I hate those crappy ugly dogs. They are only good for kicking. The most terrifying words in the English language are: I'm from the government and I'm here to help.

Which in reality means let's dumb down the achievers to create equality Bingo. You hit the nail on the head. The most terrifying words in the English language are: I'm from the government and I'm here to help.

I agree with your statement but it just goes to show that BO is a hypocrite. He talks of compassion, helping our fellow man, doing the right thing, etc. So he talks a good game. If he meant what he said his half brother would not be living in a shack in Narobi. WHy not help him come to the states and get a fresh start. He has the clout to do that. You know people by their actions, not their words. The most terrifying words in the English language are: I'm from the government and I'm here to help.

I heard the same thing yesterday. And I love how Obama is spinning it. Someone else mentioned it as well, the fact that the hip people that are supporting BO don't get called on their cell phones. I don't think that is the issue. I think people are getting turned off by his arrogance and his inability to wing it. He is great in a speech but he did horribly at Saddleback and people are starting to notice his lack of substance and experience. My point is alcohol related deaths cause far more deaths than firearms. Any joe that meets a minimum age requirement can go and buy a beverage that makes you act like an idiot if abused. But no one wants to limit the sale of alcohol? Why not? The most terrifying words in the English language are: I'm from the government and I'm here to help.

Alcohol and drunk driving causes way more death than guns but no one is screaming for alcohol restrictions. Why not? Because it is culturally accepted by the majority so those losses are OK. The most terrifying words in the English language are: I'm from the government and I'm here to help.

Had a John Deere as a kid and it made too many trips to the shop. Sadly my yard is not big enough for a riding mower but my wifes grandfather cut lawns for extra money and he has a Husqvarna mower that never misses a beat and it gets a ton of use. They cost a little more but you get what you pay for. The most terrifying words in the English language are: I'm from the government and I'm here to help.

Univ. of Ill. Won't Release Obama Records (public records!)

Good Lord. You are the master of deflection. This is about the assocation of Ayers and Obama, not Reagan and Annenberg. The most terrifying words in the English language are: I'm from the government and I'm here to help. -
No.. but that is what the fringe right religious whackjobs want you to believe.. So since you deride the republicans for claiming to, will you now deride the democrats for doing the same? I will.
