My question is this: Why should we be? Because those dead pirates should have had their rights protected? We value human life, yes? The captain was safe and in plain sight. Why not just wait it out and come to a peaceful resolution? You can't have it both ways. Regardless of the discussions of the morality and effectiveness of torture, do you even comprehend the difference between what happens in captivity vs what happens in action? I understand it very well. But the value of human life and people's rights trump that, yes? Tell you what, this will probably confuse the fuck out of you, I think it's fine that they killed those pirates, however if they had sucesfully captured them and then shot them in the head, I'd be up in arms about that. Have you actually ignored everything that has been said on this subject, on this forum, up until now? I know the world is not like an episode of 24. Do you honestly believe that we gathered no information that saved lives during the war on terror? Are you going to get false information from time to time? Of course. Does that mean you stop the interrogations? Were talking about non-lethal techniques here. I just don't see the problem in protecting our country with waterboarding and other non-lethal techniques. I don't give a damn about our image in the world. I believe in doing what needs needs to be done. I will leave the whining, hand wringing, and denial to the Kool-Aid crowd. My question is this: Why is the anti-enhanced interrogation technique crowd not up in arms over the shooting over the three Somaili pirates. Three men were killed to save the life of one men! What about their rights? So what is wrong with waterbarding Khalid Sheikh Mohammed or other terrorists if it saves lives? You can't possibly believe that no good information was obtained from these interrogations that prevented attacks and saved lives. So if the killing of the three pirates is justified to save one man why isn't waterboarding or using other NON -LETHAL techniques on known terrorists justified to save lives? Alcohol destroys families and drunk people suck
AWL71 replied to sundevil777's topic in Speakers Corner
Great Post! Alcohol is allowed to destroy numerous lives because it is accepted by most of our society. Guns, which do far less damage than alcohol, are regulated because guns are not accepted by the majority of society. True, but Chapter 13 wouldn't be the answer. They need a Chapter 11 so they can get reorganized by the courts. It will allow GM to renegotiate those blood sucking, entitlement vacuum, UAW Union contracts. Between that and the cafe standards, I don't know how they even have a prayer. How do you feel about blood-sucking executives making millions while the company is going down the tubes? Or do you reserve your animosity for workers? Two wrongs don't make a right. The blood sucking executives are just as guilty as the blood sucking UAW. Even if GM had world class leadership and cars that people wanted to buy I still feel the UAW would eventually bankrupt GM. They need to file bankruptcy and restructure WITHOUT the UAW. The UAW is a burden to the American Auto industry and it is a damn shame. GM is finally making cars I would consider buying but it may be too late. The most terrifying words in the English language are: I'm from the government and I'm here to help.

"...as President Obama indicated during the campaign, there are just a few gun-related changes that we would like to make, and among them would be to reinstitute the ban on the sale of assault weapons. I think that will have a positive impact in Mexico, at a minimum," [said Holder]. So the reason for restricting our second amendment rights is so we can help Mexico? That is past asinine. The gun grab is just starting. With a democrat controlled legislature there will be no shortage of bills introduced that have a good shot at passing. Mickey Rourke's beloved brown and white Chihuahua dies at 18

It's not just a current generation. "Celebrity journalism" has been around since well before we were born; and that's the audience this story is catering to. For example, I used to think Angelina Jolie was attractive. Now, thanks to the overkill of seeing her face on my screen or on magazine covers every single goddam day for the past 3 years, I've decided to burn her in effigy this weekend. That sounds good. I will bring an effigy of Paris and Britney and we can make that fire burn a little brighter. The most terrifying words in the English language are: I'm from the government and I'm here to help. -
.380 has been around for a long time. But as a round it is not that popular. If you want stopping power the .45 ACP is the way to go. The recoil is not that bad. Whatever you decide to get make sure you can shoot it well and practice with it. You can get the job done with any 9mm, .40, or .45 as long as the bullet hits its mark. Unsupported? Every Democrat and the President are saying we cannot climb out of this recession without government intervention...even though, there is an effective track record of past intervention making matters worse. Even worse, these bills are not doing anything other than funding agendas... It took almost 100 years for the US to borrow its first Trillion dollars...Congress just did it overnight...again... The street is reacting to a clear, and inevitable problem of massive over-mandated, non-funded programs over the next several years, they are also reacting to the Fed's infusion of $8.5Tr in currency, without any collateral in the world's banks. The government is attacking its currency, economy and market system. It's going to prove amongst the first of several broken promises. You are right, but don't bother confusing the Obama Drones with the the facts. The most terrifying words in the English language are: I'm from the government and I'm here to help.

All the republicans need to do is become the exclusive sponsor of "American Idol" and as long as voters can text in their votes they should sweep all future elections. The most terrifying words in the English language are: I'm from the government and I'm here to help.

The media is catering to "The American Idol" generation. I myself don't give a damn about his dead dog but it is sad that some people do. The most terrifying words in the English language are: I'm from the government and I'm here to help. -
STI makes some incredible pistols. I used to be active in USPSA and shot several of the STI Edge model in .40. Amazing weapons, as well they should be since they will set you back @ $1800.00. The most terrifying words in the English language are: I'm from the government and I'm here to help.

You are what you are. I don't care what anyone says about me and if everyone felt the same way we would all be better off. The most terrifying words in the English language are: I'm from the government and I'm here to help.

So much of what you mentioned will come down to what feels right for you. My favorite caliber is .40 SW. It gives good stopping power and recoil is not a problem. I really like Glocks because they are ultra relaiable, affordable, and easy to work with and modify with a little practice. The Glock 27 would be great for concealed carry and the Glock 22 or 35 is great for home defense. I use a 22 for home defense and my 35 is my target pistol. Sig Sauer is also a great pistol but they are more expensive. I don't like single stack pistols because I have big hands and don't like the feel of a single stack grip. This "entitlement" generation baffles me. People actually believe it is government's job to take care of them. I dare say the majority of people feel that way. Whatever happened to personal responsibility? The most terrifying words in the English language are: I'm from the government and I'm here to help.
