  1. Our friend "Apoil" left Singapore about 1 1/2 years ago, we miss him very much :-)... He is in California at the moment and Come had the pleasure to do some jumps with him in Perris.... I had to stay in the office so feel free to contact us and if you want to join us for jumping check the forum.... blues Marcus
  2. Hey who says there are no Freeflyers in Singapore? We have a woman freefly team here in Singapore and a friend of mine and I also have a couple of hundred jumps on the head. So if you want to get some introduction feel free to contact us under: www.skydiveasia.org blues Marcus But if you want to do ball-jumps you better go to Australia :-)
  3. sorry to bother you again. checked this and it's ok. If I want to use the menu option "copy to tape" I can't click on it cause it is disabled.... any more suggestions? thanks blues Macus
  4. Was jumping a Omega a while ago. It took me quiet a few jumps to figure out how to flare that canopy. I wasn't the best canopy pilot at that time, but I had no problems landing a Sabre. I also jumped a Spectre after and I did not have these problems. But if you get used to the Omega it's a lot of fun. blues Marcus
  5. as I said the option to record the timeline back to tape was working with the Windows XP version (but with the problems of getting blue shots in the video). So I switched to Win 2000 and now I need a Sony driver for Win 2000 and I don't know were to get it. Fire Wire card should be fine.... Marcus p.s.> my method to put it back on tape is to run the timeline and set the camera on record (that's how it worked with XP)
  6. I have the following problem: I can capture the video from my PC9 and cut it with Premiere 6.5. But if I want to play the timeline back to the camcorder it does not work. I'm using Windows 2000 and it worked with XP (but had to change it). Do I need a PC9 driver for Windows 2000? I also can't control the camcorder any more in the capture window. thanks Marcus
  7. not a good idea if the patient is unconscious. In some minor injuries you don't need to call 911. The article is excellent thanks.. blues Marcus
  8. what if you living in a country were there is no winter and you can jump all year long?? blues Marcus
  9. Very interesting post. I worked as a paramedic a few years back, so I just wanted to get some ideas what you guys think is necessary in a first aid kid, maybe especially for skydiving (e.g. adjustable cast for ankle, cooling spray ...). Just like a short list what should be included... Marcus
  10. I like to set up a first aid box for our DZ. Can someone help me to put a list together what should be in this box? Do you guys have something like that at your DZ? Even minor injuries can cause big problems if not proper treated.. thanks Marcus
  11. Hey Ziggy, did you jump the Blade already? We are planning to come to Perris in May, do you have some demos for me and my french friend??? :-) Marcus
  12. I know that's why I'm asking. Maybe someone saw them at the PIA.
  13. Hi, does anyone has more informations about the new canopy from Performance Variable called Demon? Saw a picture in the new parachutist and the nose looks interesting... blues Marcus
  14. in this case I should never have downsized from my student canopy. Even now I'm not able to pull the front risers. I still looking for the hills I can land down or up :-) land consisently in a 10m circle > wow you better get first your D-licence before you get any smaller...... Your rules might apply for intermediate or advanced jumpers but not for students I think. I have the impression that whenever you guys see the word downsize you doing copy/past..... blues Marcus
  15. Have a look at Sven Zimmermann's webpage: www.svenz.com cool guy blues Marcus

Be there: march 15. – 30.2003 Anyone going there? more infos under: www.engadinsky.ch blues Marcus
  17. Just a question: What is wrong with pulling the slider behind your neck???? blues Marcus
  18. I used Atom risers (reverse) on a Javelin and the other way round. Never had any problems. If you want to do a couple jumps with it I don't see any safety issues... You will most probably survive blues Marcus
  19. For me the pillow is just a fashion marketing gag. Metal has always worked why do you want to change that? blues M
  20. Isn't that funny. You ask an opinion about two different canopies and you get good advice that you should downsize slowly. I guess you know already what size of canopy you want when you test jump it. So back to your question: Sabre: (talking about the old one) has some nasty openings every 50 jumps or so, but the glide and flare is very good. the Spectre has very slow openings but sometimes it is a little bit difficult to come back from a long spot In my opinion the flare is not so powerful than the Sabre. This was just my experience when I jumped both. Just read a little bit about the differences between 7-cells and 9-cells. I think both are very good canopies, with different characterisics. And always remember only if you are able to perform a stand-up landing facing downwind in a thunderstorm with 3 main line broken and only one toggle line you should be downsizing blues Marcus
  21. ok let's start a poll: who was waiting a few month after buying a canopy until he was ready for it? Or I might just try it out and then jump it when it's time for it? Don't think it happens too often, when you buy a canopy you want to jump it not storing it in the shelf... blues Marcus
  22. Thanks for your tip Kris, I went back to the shop and they told me that they don't know how this could have happened. They will send me a new set of batteries free of charge. I really appreciate this. Just a hint: next time you are getting a new rig check the DOM when you get it... blues Marcus
  23. I thought the +3 month only apply when you need to send the cypres for service (every 4 years) not when you only need to replace the batteries. M
  24. If you already jumped it and you felt confident, what is you problem???? After more than 300 jumps you should know what you want. M
