  1. Can you give more details? Was that the old Javelin or the Odyseey you are talking about? Ever jumped one? I made the experience if the main flap is open, the closing loop is too long and if the riser flaps are open you should try another packer for your reserve. Of course you must be able to measure yourself properly when you order the container M
  2. No problem, if you are a good packer you get a brand new 150 in there... M
  3. reminds me what my old instructor said: at this days the experienced jumpers stay on the ground and the non-experienced jumpers going to get their experience.... M
  4. About a year ago I got my new rig from Para Gear. It included the container the main, reserve and cypres. At this moment I thought everything would be new. Yesterday I gave the rig to my rigger to do the second reserve pack and he told me that I have to change the battery from the cypres next month... hmm I thought this has to be done every two years? He explained me that the cypres was already 11 month old when I got it. Just want to know if it is usual that you might get an old cypres in your new container? btw: another thing which made me angry is that this store offered a free assembly on every new rig. When my rig was finished the rigger had an accident and they ask me to wait until he is back to work. I already waited 5 month so I told them to send it without reserve pack. Strange that there was no other rigger or packer around and of course no money back.... blues Marcus
  5. I did not know that people buy them for landing M
  6. Aha makes sense. Sorry I'm also pacifist... M
  7. I have a J1 and my packer always complains that the 143PD reserve is too small for the container. He said he could get one size bigger in there. So better you check with your rigger. I'm thinking to get a Tempo 170 in the container (I like the reserve big and the container tight).. Marcus
  8. sorry don't understand maybe it's because I'm not American... M
  9. Still don't know what the bloody point is to built a canopy which you are not able to land..... I use my parachute to land savely, maybe some people use it for something else... For me this is totally nonsense.... Marcus
  10. Ok guys, thanks for the infos I understand your point. But I think we are talking about a very basic course here. I know Ulli from Skydive U in Perris but this is a totally different league. This guys here are NOT SDU coaches the chief instructor never did any professional competition and the instructors are mainly S/L instructors with a few hundred jumps. It's true that I probably don't need the course (you never know), but for me it sounds like a rip-off. But maybe there are a lot of people willing to pay that money.. blues Marcus
  11. yes it's in Singapore and the prices ARE in US $!!
  12. took my camera off cause I got a smaller canopy... Marcus
  13. browse through the posts I had that question before.. Marcus
  14. Why do you always want the BEST freeflyer to teach you (Omar, Olav, Mike .....)? Even if you have around 200 jumps most of the packers on a DZ are able to teach you the basics in Headup / Headdown. I don't think the best freeflyers are necessary the best teachers...... I learned a lot from those guys who pack and are always willing to take their time to do a 1-0-1. But if you have to much money then ........ blues Marcus

  16. I started with a 260 then I did 4 jumps on a 230 after that I had two really bad landings on a 210 (my butt was hurting for 2 days). The jumpmaster did not want to let me jump the 170 until I could land the 210 properly, so I ask some people went to another DZ tried my Sabre 170 and had a perfect stand-up landing. Since then I did not want to go back. Sometimes it's not only the size of the canopy... I was always jumping the same size main / reserve until this year (I don't want to go smaller with the reserve than 150). Always ask your instructor, even if he gives you advice which is no so good... stay save Marcus
  17. I jumped my first rig (ZP 170 main & same size reserve) with the same weight after 25 jumps. I had no problem to land the main and the reserve (40th jump). Always depends on the conditions and the DZ. Marcus
  18. I got coaching from both Mike Ortiz and Omar and they are very friendly and helpful. Personally I could work better with Mike, but this might be just me. If you get coaching do a few jumps with different people and then you find out who can teach you better. This guys are great, can't do anything wrong blues Marcus
  19. it is soooo difficult to find a cobalt, can I take a my favorite canopy and stick two diamonds on it? Between how many canopies can I choose when I'm winning? M
  20. who cares about the frenchies???? the Germans are coming.. congratulations to >> Free Flight Paratec
  21. can you let us know about our concerns in more detail or did I missed out something? Do you have any examples were you had problems of the lines? Do you know any cases of accident involving the lines? thanks Marcus
  22. Just got the info from Pascal former designer from Profile Research and now owner of High Performance Research. I think they introduced the HMA lines (now Technora Lines). Let's see how the Blade is... M
  23. do you use HMA lines on any Atair canopy???
  24. depends if you have te 160 or 200 lines. I was told that the 200 last for 800 to 1000 jumps.. blues Marcus
