  1. this is a very dangerous advice, I hope you know that. If you feel confident what you flying you don't need to justify the kind and size of your canopy. Just my opinion blues Marcus
  2. Hi, just got a new Crossfire 2 canopy and I used to pull the slider all the way down behind my head. It seems like the diameter of the grommets of the slider is a little bit smaller than on my Nitro and Stiletto canopy. The grommet gets stuck on the riser were the toggles are and the brake lines going to the back. I use Relative Workshop Micron risers, the one with the pin. Anyone had the same problem? blues Marcus
  3. It's really a personal choice, I like my full face helmet without the visor. I'm just using normal goggles or sunglasses. If you have a nice smile then maybe it's better to use an open face, you can put your tongue out Sometimes it's nice to see the peoples face how much fun they have, when I do video. But if you talking about the safety aspect concerning landings, thats another question. blues Marcus
  4. sorry can't make it on the 28th since I'm leaving already in the afternoon. I need to fly to LA for the Flyboyz Film Festival in Perris would be nice to see you guys blues Marcus
  5. Ok ok one day I knew that day would come that I'm posting in Talkback ups not Talkback any more. reason is that I'm on a business trip to London from the 24/10 until the 28/10 because of a job interview. It might even happen that I get transferred to the UK end of the year. Does someone likes to have a drink with me during that time and give me more informations about jumping in the UK (London)? PM me that I don't have to post so much in "The Bonfire" blues Marcus p.s.> do I have to bring warm clothes????
  6. Yeh it was the Nitro that what Ziggy meant I guess. And I'm 99.9% certain that the Nitro by Profile Research was the first to use HMA/technora blues Marcus
  7. One thing which made me curious: first I looked at the nice pictures of the containers and then I had a look at the profiles of the owners: Main Canopy: PD 9-cell 190 ft² (1.04 lbs/ft²) Reserve Canopy: PD Reserve 160 ft² (1.24 lbs/ft²) Main Canopy: Spectre 210 ft² (1.21 lbs/ft²) Reserve Canopy: Smart 190 ft² (1.34 lbs/ft²) Main Canopy: Vision 124 ft² (1.51 lbs/ft²) Reserve Canopy: Smart 120 ft² (1.56 lbs/ft²) Main Canopy: Pilot 188 ft² (1.03 lbs/ft²) Reserve Canopy: Smart 175 ft² (1.10 lbs/ft²) Main Canopy: Vision 117 ft² (1.71 lbs/ft²) Reserve Canopy: Smart 110 ft² (1.82 lbs/ft²) so maybe the aerodyne fans can tell me why on earth do you want to jump a smaller reserve than a main? I really like the icon but I do not understand the sizing chart. blues Marcus
  8. After my first visit at the DZ the scenery and the people impressed me. I was trying to jump there 2 years ago, but my girlfriend had only an A-license so she was not qualified to jump. This year we gave another try and it was definitely worth it. If you are traveling and around Locarno you have to do a jump there..... Marcus
  9. I will be in Perris probably first week in November for the Film Festival blues Marcus
  10. Hi, the padding of my Hawkeye Helmet is peeling off. What can I use to affix it again without fixing it permanently or damaging the padding or the helmet shell? thanks Marcus
  11. Here is a picture of the runway in Lido. As you can see there is not much free area to land. The lake is just before the runway at the (17 de marking). Which is the only free area. It was reported that the aircraft was floating on the lake for a few minutes before it went down. The injuries on the pilot and jumpers indicated that the impact was too hard to survive. The jumper from Australia had taken off his harness. The picture was taken by Rony who was in the aircraft at the accident, he was about to do his first commercial tandem jump as a tandem instructor. He was also a very good Square1 customer and registered here at DZ.com (adriono) . He was one of the greatest guys in Indonesia I ever meet. We did our Tandem Instructor course together. We did a memorial jump last weekend in Bali, sunset at Kuta Beach. A jump we will never forget. blues Marcus

  13. One thing which is bugging me: Why is that so difficult to get a container which fits a 150 reserve and a 107 main? All the people I jump with have smaller mains (non crossbraced) than reserves. I like your company a lot, but looking at the sizing chart , I do not understand why you encourage jumpers to jump same size of main / reserve or smaller reserves than the main. e.g you can combine a 120 reserve and a 150 main, but not a 150 reserve and a 120 main At the moment only a few manufacturers are able to satisfy my needs. I had to buy one of the smallest 150 reserves (packing volume) to fit the container. Am I the only one thinking like this??? I landed 150 reserve a few times and this is no fun. I only know one manufacturer (Sunrise Rigging) who have a "proper" sizing scheme.. My friend jumping a 150 reserve and a Nitro 88 in his Wings. Is that one point which makes this company so popular these days? blues Marcus edit: to add more info

  15. I have a video from a friend who chopped his 88 ft main and pulled his 150 reserve during he was still spinning (did not have the time to get stable). He spend most of his reserve ride to get out of the line twists. Everyone who has seen the video understands why he does not want to downsize his reserve. I agree with him blues Marcus
  16. Might be there for two days with my girlfriend jumping. So we did not register. What are the regular ticket prices? Will go to Melbourne for jumping before. blues Marcus
  17. I gave up, after trying for 3 month I installed WIN 2000 and all the problems are gone. If you have a big HD you can do a WIN2000 partition to your XP. You will only need it for exporting the timeline. blues Marcus
  18. you can mount most of the altimeters on the wedge, all you need is four holes on each corner. You might also be able to fix the altimeter on a plate and screw a hole on each corner. you can always check with the guys from Lookma: [email protected] blues Marcus
  19. Congratulations to the new national record of a 24 way in Indonesia. It was archived on saturday 13/09 at the air games Halim airport Jakarta. Marcus
  20. check out the new Paratec helmet I think it is pretty cool. http://www.paratec.de/Seiten/Archiv.html blues Marcus
  21. I would choose the Factory Diver, because when you want to do a few freefly jumps you can just take off the visor and use a normal goggle under it. With the Z1 your visor might flip up during sit. blues Marcus
  22. I'm using the Vector and the battery run out after 230 jumps, but you know how long this watches lying around in the store. Never used the logbook. Only bad thing is that sometimes you switch the mode by bending you hand backwards. Calculating your alti by the airpressure is not very easy, especially in freefall. blues Marcus
  23. A friend of mine is jumping the new Wings container (extra long for tall guys with small mains). Looks really neat and the price is very good. The delivery time is acceptable I think. blues Marcus
  24. I have the problem that I have a relative short container (Javelin NJ) so that you have to reach high up to grap your hacky. Another problem is that my hacky is very smal and has a long connection strap to the pilot chute. Last weekend I had a reserve because I could not grab the hacky sack... I have to say that I'm not the most flexible person. I was thinking to replace the hacky sack with this plastic tube.... Anyone had this problem too? Any ideas blues Marcus
