  1. I have the impression that most of the people start to listen to other people before they start to think.... Sometimes I think it's better to use your own brain before adapting knowledge from others. I'm not talking about sudents, but still in this stage logic is helpful. blues Marcus
  2. This is all very interesting, it's only a shame that we are getting all the expert information about testing a canopy from one site. To be honest the post sounds to me more like a advertisement to impress people with hight-tech bla bla, than useful information. I did not understand a word what you were talking about, but I will try again after I have read your webpage. Just one question: Is that true that the idea with the "ribs 4 lines from each side are substantially solid with no cross-ports (2-stage opening)" was there long ago before your company picked it up? And if so, why do you need so much research in this field? I'm just curious ...... I like this forum... blues Marcus
  3. Can someone give me a few tips about taking a video from a tandem? e.g - what kind of exit for the cameraman - flying on the belly or sit - position (below in sit or same level on belly) - how to capture the deployment of the tandem canopy - what kind of suit are you using ........ thanks Marcus
  4. buy a brand new design of a canopy after it came out? There are several new canopys coming out e.g. Icarus ... so what is your opinion: buy or wait a little while until the first pilots are telling you about it? There are companys who invest a lot in testing, others might not have the patience.... blues
  5. do I need to register for that? I'm coming... blues Marcus
  6. Cool rig my complements.. blues M p.s.> are you in asia?
  7. For your kind of camera you might need a helmet where you can mount the cam on the top. So a flat-top helmet would be much better. Give Ampfing a try, I went there with only 30 jumps and they helped me a lot especially Ulli, I did a few video jumps with him (Some of them I even had to pay). So the best thing would be to go there and get your own impression. Sometimes you have to travel a little bit to get new ideas about flying. I don't know how many hours I spend on the German Autobahn to go to a other dropzone. blues
  8. Hi there, I'm coming to Perris next Friday 26'th. I have never been there, so I was sending the manifest an email to reserve a bed in the IHOP and to assist me getting a lift from LAX to the DZ. Haven't received an answer until now. I was sending the mail to: [email protected]. Is there another adress I have to send it? Maybe some of you guys can help me blues Marcus p.s.> read at the web that they have a event called "The Right Stuff Skydives " on, can someone give me more infos?
  9. why does the rig looks soo big? how many chutes do you have in there???? Or are you so small that you rig looks so big? Have fun and try more freefly...... blues
  10. Hi Fonzi, I don't agree either that there are no good camflyers in your area, if I understand right you are from Bavaria. When I was still in Germany I was jumping in Ampfing (went also to the Freefly Festival), if you can GO THERE!!! They have a Skysurf and a Freestyle Champion (with cameraman) and some good Freeflyers. I think these guys can give you a lot of input. My advice: wait a little bit longer until you start jumping a camera and make sure that you jump proper equipment and don't trade safety for money. blues
  11. Just ask a proper rigger or reserve packer he should be able to tell you if your reserve is in good condition and if you can still jump it. I know some good rigger in Singapore they can help you... blues

    BT-60

Looked at the page but they have only the new model (Ninja) advertised..... Is that correct that PdF build the first ZP canopy? Can you compare the BT with the Stilletto??

    BT-60

I would guess Parachute de France "Blue Track" 60sq ft. elliptical, ZP, predecessor of the Ninja. But I'm not sure if they build this size....
  16. Just learning to edit videos.... I like to edit some videos and copy them on VCD or VHS. What resolution are you using for your videos and what frame rate? My pc is not good enough to do everything in DV format, so which setup is good enough for VHS or S-VIDEO? thanks Joe
  17. After reading this forum for a couple of month I find it very informative, amusing and sometimes a little bit sad, but there is one thing which makes me a little bit wondering: I read articles from "experienced Skydivers" with over a hundred jumps telling what daring things they are doing up there. Has somethings changed in the AFF regulations that you are jumping now from the stratosphere or it is required a ten hour wind tunnel training before your first jump? When I had around a hundred jumps I was far away from being "experienced" and even now I'm stuggle to use this expression. Ok maybe I'm a little bit slow but I saw a lot of other jumpers and I did not got a different impression. I don't want to offend anyone but I think if beginners are reading this articles they might get a wrong impression how long it takes to learn this sport properly. I don't think this is a daredevil-forum and I'm just a jumper who wants to have fun without unnecessary risk. Does this makes sense or am I completely wrong? Joe p.s.> of course I'm not talking about this nature talents with only a few jumps but very very skilled in jumping and canopy control (there might be some in here)... So please save me your glorious storries what you've learned in just 50 jumps...
  18. after AFF 15 belly jumps... It's never early enough for the dark side...
  19. It is totally up to THIS country to have dropzones: if you have regulations that you can only jump up to 8.000ft and you don't have the support from the army you are not happy if someone tells you that you have to learn BASE jumping. We are not talking about the Disneyland days here. I checked out the prices (don't tell me this was a "cheap boogie" and to be honest I don't like the advert like: during you are lying in the sun or explore the beautiful island your packer is packing for the next jump!!! Why do you think not many freeflyers were there?
  20. btw: was it true that there was no jumping on the weekend???? Your suggestion to set up a dz in Malaysia sounds so simple and I know a few guys who tried it..... BUT WE HAVE A WINDTUNNEL NOW!!!!!!
  21. I think we are talking here about regular skydiving schedules and not from Boogies organised for rich European and American tourists... If I'm going 2 weeks jumping I'll do about 80 - 100 jumps and pay much less in the US.... Malaysia is only on certain days Disneyland for skydivers for all the jumpers stuck in South East Asia it SUCKS!!!!!!! cheers
  22. I'm also in Singapore, do you know anything I don't know cam??? Malaysia sucks.... A few friends and me try to get some skydivers together to organise a jumping weekend in Jkt.... blues
  23. I use a Excel spreadsheet to backup my logbook once in a while. After a few hundred jumps it's much easier to look over it and calculate your freefalltime (if you are interested). If you have good eyes you can print 200 jumps on one page.. blues Joe
  24. is the FF2 helmet from 2k Composites thw money worth? could not find any infos. thanks Joe
