  1. Thanks everyone for your help. There are 3 kinds of people in this world, those that know how to count, and those who don't.
  2. Does anyone know were I can get a Softie or Strong emergency airplane parachute system with a square parachute? I know you can order them but I was wondering if anyone knew were they might have them in stock. I checked para-gear and they only have them with rounds. I have yet to call Strong direct and I wonder if they even make them with square chutes. I have one on order with Softie but it's 6 weeks if I wait for it to be built. Thanks in advance for your feedback. There are 3 kinds of people in this world, those that know how to count, and those who don't.
  3. How so? Do you mean that in a postive way or negative? There are 3 kinds of people in this world, those that know how to count, and those who don't.
  4. I'm completely at a loss for words. This is by far the most incredible tunnel I have ever been in. Not to mention that the flight crew and coaches are top notch and willing to teach you anything you need to know and then some. We started out the night with 2 other buddies each of us doing 2 minute rotations. By the second rotation we had some of the best freeflyers in the world in the tunnel showing us things we never thought possible, at least I didn't. I would like to thank everyone there for being so great and patient and keeping permanent smiles on all of our faces. I know my friends feel the same. Yoko, Jason and Scott you are really some of the nicest people we've met and the best thing is your attitudes and being so approachable. It's great to see people with that much talent sharing it without an ego. I can't wait to go back it's absolutely addicting and the facility is top notch. I don't know what else to say but try it you wont be dissapointed! There are 3 kinds of people in this world, those that know how to count, and those who don't.
  5. In my opinion if you even have to think about doing it then you shouldn't be doing it at all, at least for the time being. I know friends in similar situations that said once they found out they had a child on the way every skydive became a mind game of, "I wonder if this is the one" and made it much harder to do what your supposed to do on the jump and that's enjoy yourself. Extra thoughts and nervousness lead to extra problems in the air. I'm sure you love jumping more then anything but I'm also sure when your baby is given to you for the first time falling out of an airplane will pail in comparision. Then your little one can later on watch you jump and be proud. It's also good to take a breather for your wifes sake, it really seems to help pregnant women knowing their husbands are doing everything they can to comfort them while carrying around a bowling ball for 9 months. I'm sure your wife would also feel much better even if she doesn't tell you it bothers her, it does and will assure less stress in her life, hence an easier pregnancy. Good luck to you and I'm sure we'll see you back in the blue skies again should you decide to take a breather. 6. That's great advice. Sadly the inside of the tape is warped and literally shrunk and crinkled. That would have worked great I'm sure but the tapes are just too far gone. There are 3 kinds of people in this world, those that know how to count, and those who don't.
  7. Thanks everyone for your reply's. I believe I have found a place that has all 3 so much appreciation for the answers you gave. There are 3 kinds of people in this world, those that know how to count, and those who don't.
  8. After taking my tapes out of storage and not even thinking that leaving them in the 120 degree Arizona heat for 6 months would matter, they are all dead and not working. Does anyone know were these videos can be purchased. They are my favorite for years now and I can't seem to find them anywhere. 10. I can only give advice for 2 of the 3 canopies. I have flown both the Crossfire and the Katana. I now own a Katana and I will explain to you why. The Crossfire 2 is a fantastic canopy and the openings are absolutely incredible and I believe better then the Katana even with packing both canopies perfectly. The flight range between the two in my opinion is were the Katana outshines the Crossfire 2. It has one of the most incredible ranges of any canopy I have even flown or owned. I also have a Velocity and I have to tell you the Katana comes real close in the performance department and as far as front risers are concerned it's the best canopy I have ever owned for ease of use. I cannot believe how easy it is to hold down the front risers on the Katana and that it will stay in that dive as long as you want it to with no buffeting whatsoever. The Crossfire just doesn't have quite the range as an equally loaded Katana, but this again my opinion and perhaps others might be able to get the range out of the Crossfire but I was just sold on the Katana as soon as I jumped one. Many of my friends who have flown both canopies are divided on which is the superior canopy so I think your best bet is to go and demo all of them. I don't think you would be disappointed with either canopy as they both are fantastic and both have their strong points. It would be easier if you asked the difference between say a Stiletto and a F-111 9 Cell but these canopies I believe are pretty evenly matched it just depends on what YOU like most in a canopy. Good luck. There are 3 kinds of people in this world, those that know how to count, and those who don't.

  12. How about rocket activated shoes and a mini-helicopter attached to your legs, of course the helicopter engine would have to be a piston driven engine because God knows that a turbine motor would take far to long to get fired up. This in conjunction with a third reserve in a new style container should be all that one needs. I believe the problem with todays reserves and the way they function has a great deal to do with the pilot who flies them or should I say doesn't fly them. Think about when the two canopies entangle. I believe much of the time it's from a cypres fire which I have personally seen many times. This could be blamed on the pilot for lack of alti awareness. When was the last time you heard of a Tandem main and reserve being entangled. i can answer that but I don't need to. Altitude awareness in my opinion is the number one safety factor that should be on everyones mind. Just my $.02 and not so humble opinion. 13. I used to own a Vengeance 120 and 135. Loved them both. Pro's are they open, fly and land beautifully. The only cons I ever had was on windy days if I didn't collapse the canopy fast it would stay inflated and I got another ride on the ground. Always makes for great video and many laughs from your friends. The pack volume was a bit larger then my other canopies but I can't really say that's a con only an appearance issue which I could care less about. All in all I think the pro's greatly outweigh the cons. There are 3 kinds of people in this world, those that know how to count, and those who don't.

  15. Pure adrenalin, right?! The ultimate rush. Other guys snort for it, jab a vein for it -- all you gotta do is jump..... then arch, then check your altimeter, then constantly be aware of your altitude and right before you pull make sure your body position is belly to earth and stable, look up, check that your canopy is open and flying stable, do a line check, colapse your slider and then stow it if need be, release your brakes, do a practice stall to assure your canopy is in good flying condition, check altitude again, make sure you know were your at, check for other traffic all around you, setup for your landing, check your altitude again, get ready for your landing, steady, steady, flare, level, flare a little more, level, flare a bit more, pooofff. Perfect landing. See and all you had to do was jump! Now lets go rob some banks. Sounds good to me bodazefa!!!! 17. Have Nextel and it works great except if your drunk at the Bent Prop and you drop it in the toilet. For some reason the reception seems to not be as good:) There are 3 kinds of people in this world, those that know how to count, and those who don't.
  18. Have had a pro track for years. 3000+ jumps later it's still kicking a**!!! I also agree with some of the other folks that if you can wait for the new equipment to come out you should do so. Go to their website and see the new stuff they have. It's incredible to say the least. Hope it performs as good as it looks which with their reputation I'm certain it will. 19. I have 3 G4's as of right now and couldn't be happier with them. Very comfortable and very easy to pack despite many people complaining about the split d-bag. It was just a matter of getting used to the new design and then no more complaints from packers. And by the way, you can now get a regular bag for the G4 as an option so if you are worried about it just go with the regular dbag. I found this rig the most comfortable for freeflying out of any container I ever owned. I was a Sunpath owner for many years until I first tried a G3 and was sold on Mirage ever since. All in all they are the best feeling and most durable rigs I have ever owned that being in my humble opinion. And I have always had nothing but great customer service from them no matter what the problem they were always available to help. Good luck. 20. Wow, I'm reading this posting and I have to say I'm in total shock. I have ordered 7 complete rigs along with mains and bunches of other gear from Square 1 and Square 2 and have never had anything but good luck. I feel really bad for what this person had to go through but my God I can't see this not being a complete misunderstanding. I have had rigs ordered before I even paid for them from these guys with literally zero pressure from their end. That's customer service and trust to the utmost if I do say so myself. As a business owner I hate seeing these kinds of postings and thinking that it somehow could have been avoided. I sometimes but rarely have a customer who will tell me one thing and then not be vocal enough to be completely honest and bam, off come the gloves to everyone else but you. It's like the negative feedback on ebay. You get 1000+ positives and then 1 negative from someone who had buyers remorse and just wanted to take it out on you or your company. If you have a problem people, out of respect for people and their lifes work, do everything you can to resolve it "under the radar"! Instead of posting a warning perhaps ask the community if they have experienced anything similar and see how to get to the bottom of it the blue skies way and that's open and honest. Sorry to ramble I just had to give my own $.02. Good luck to both sides. There are 3 kinds of people in this world, those that know how to count, and those who don't.
  21. I have a 113 in an MX and it's super tight. I cannot see putting a 126 in that container. I suppose it's also were your at in the country. I'm in Arizona so it's a little bit tougher with no humidity but I can't imagine that 126 going into that rig without a fight. I previously owned Sunpath products and had an NJ with a 126 and that worked alright but worked even better in the TJN I had. It also will depend on the main your putting in. What type of main do you have? My NJ with a Vengeance 120 and 126 reserve was too tight. NJ with a 103 Velocity and 126 reserve was perfect. Now I have a MX with a Katana 120 and PD113 Reserve an it's like a glove. MX 1/2 with a Velocity 103 and PD113 Reserve and it's also a perfect fit. 22. What is wrong with the Stiletto? I have a Velocity 103 and Katana 120 and I wish I would have kept my Stiletto 135 just for fun. I think Stilettos are still a blast to fly. And I know for a fact that many people who own Stilettos stayed with them even after the Katana came out. Many people including pro teams (I jump out of Eloy to give you an idea) still prefer them over the Katana so don't stress about how you should have waited for the 135/150 Katana. You are just as well off with that great flying and proven Stiletto canopy. There are 3 kinds of people in this world, those that know how to count, and those who don't.

In my experience they do not function as well. I prefer rubber bands just because they have never proven anything but positive for me. Others might have contrary opinions. Everyone I have ever known prefers rubber bands so your best bet is to ask questions at your home dropzone. Ask as many riggers and packers their opinions and I'm sure you will be able to come to your own conclusion over the course of time. 24. I have 2 G4 containers but still really like the G3. I think the G3 is still a fantastic container. There are 3 kinds of people in this world, those that know how to count, and those who don't.
  25. I have to say in my opinion I have never once thought about the color of my handles. I always just pay attention to the order of things. As in right side chop, left side save your life. I push my handles into my body and mentally go over every outcome in my head. For myself it has always been a feeling on my body and the knowledge of which side does what more then what color does what, but then again it's been many years since I was a student so perhaps the color does matter if it's what you've gotten used to. Just do whatever makes you comfortable. There are 3 kinds of people in this world, those that know how to count, and those who don't.
