  1. Please don't take this post as a personal attack on Mirage. I only asked because I own rigs from the Mirage company and am very fond of them. I apologize to anyone thinking I would be starting this post as an attack on the company since that is the last thing I want to do. The initial reason I asked this was because of a post I noticed under the Mirage/PD113 TSO issue and someone had said that the company (Mirage) might be going under. Very glad to hear that all is well. I'm in the process of ordering another G4 so very glad to hear this news. There are 3 kinds of people in this world, those that know how to count, and those who don't.
  2. Has anyone heard any recent news on the new PD Reserves. The ones that have a much smaller pack volume and are made from a new material. Just curious if there has been any word on them. There are 3 kinds of people in this world, those that know how to count, and those who don't.
  3. I read in a post that Mirage might be filing bankruptcy. Does anyone have any information on this? I certainly hope this isn't true as they are my favorite rig maker and I would be really sad to see them go. 4. Wow that really helps, thanks for the info............NOT!!!!! There are 3 kinds of people in this world, those that know how to count, and those who don't.
  5. Thanks for the reply, and also for the great quote at the end which I have now strained my neck trying to complete. There are 3 kinds of people in this world, those that know how to count, and those who don't.
  6. Oh ya, how can anyone be in the "Zone" if they don't know what the "Zone" is. Hey PD I wanna be in the Zone just let me know what the Zone is and quickly please. There are 3 kinds of people in this world, those that know how to count, and those who don't.
  7. Well, they've done it again. I am the sucker who can't stand waiting to see whatever it is PD is up to. I waited and waited for the Sabre years ago, then the Stiletto, then the Velocity, Vengeance and Katana........ Do they know all (by all I mean me) skydivers are compulsive and have to know what the new news is? Anyone have a clue of what they are talking about? Is it gear? Team related? A new DZ? Anyone knowing anything please post for your compulsive skydiving friend in the west. I'm off to turn the light switch off and on 4 times, then open and close the door 4 times and so on and so forth and so on and so forth and so on and so forth and so on and so forth. Thanks There are 3 kinds of people in this world, those that know how to count, and those who don't.
  8. I wasn't aware of that. They should change the links on this website because it also takes you to a dead site. Thanks There are 3 kinds of people in this world, those that know how to count, and those who don't.
  9. I have been trying to get on the Icarus website and have not been able to do so. Does anyone know when the Icarus website will be back up? Are they having problems with the website? I just want to get some info on some stock canopies and can't seem to get on. There are 3 kinds of people in this world, those that know how to count, and those who don't.
  10. I hope this hasn't already made it to this forum as I have searched to see if it has been discussed but could not find anything so please forgive me if I am recycling these questions. Has anyone seen or heard anything about PD's new reserves that are going to have an incredibly small pack volume. Does anyone know if these are actually going to be released any time soon? I heard that a new 143 will pack like a 106 and a 160 will pack like a 113. Anyone have any info on this. Thanks for your help. There are 3 kinds of people in this world, those that know how to count, and those who don't.
  11. Alright, in another section on this forum I read that someone said Mirage must be making a profit because they are getting $45.00 for a reserve repack and only paying someone $30,000 a year as a rigger. How you came up with Mirage making $90,000 a year is beyond me. Do you actually think they do one rig an hour on a reserve repack? I am really quite taken back by the folks that think Mirage is actually doing this to turn a profit. Let's see here, $1800.00 for a new rig or $45.00 and a slight cost for a modification that may or may not save your life and also the fact that some folks might be upset with the company and not want to purchase from Mirage again? Ya, I'm sure it's the $15.00 mod that's going to get them to Bill Gates town. Come on people don't make the skydiving community sound like a bunch of idiots. Before you freak out give it a couple more months when the other rig makers issue the same bulletin so you can gripe about the "WHOLE" industry. Think it through. This is a positive change not a profiting negative one. Yes what a bummer we have to spend a few bucks but look at it as a performance enhancement that may say your life. 12. I also have to ask. Is that jumper ok? I certainly hope so. I got chills watching it and what makes me concerned is that they only show the video up to what looks like about 300-500 feet. That's like getting the numbers to a lottery ticket and seeing the results on tv as they pick the numbers and so far you have 5 out of 6 matching numbers and then all the sudden the power goes out before the 6th number is announced. Please let me know what the 6th number is! Granted winning the lottery is a good thing and your friend being injured or worse (I pray not) is not a good thing. Please post a.s.a.p. with the jumpers status. There are 3 kinds of people in this world, those that know how to count, and those who don't.
  13. I have a friend who has those exact colors. I will see him, yes "him" in a couple of weeks. He picked up the rig from a gal who gave up the sport and sold it to him for next to nothing so I will get some pic's of it so you can see the colors. It's actually very nice looking. 14. I am 225lbs out the door and have a PD113 reserve. No worries about landing it. I've seen heavier jumpers then me come in silky smooth under the same size reserve. This is only my opinion not a suggestion but I think PD reserves fly incredible for something that's not ZP. Now granted a 143 or bigger is going to give you a slower ride so it's whatever is in your head you are comfortable with along with your skill level that should make your final decision. 15. Just to let you know that once I noticed what the person said about your rig looking like a kkk guy I took a look at alot of different Mirages and they all have that look including mine! I wish I never would have read that posting. It's not so funny anymore. Now I look at my rig and I feel like an unintentional racist! 16. My opinion is the following. I see many people telling you that the Sabre 2 has a quicker landing flare and planes out much sooner then the Spectre. Yes this is true but also keep this in mind. I fly a Velocity 103 and have a Spectre for my days when I don't feel like coming at the ground at mach 2. The Spectre is far less likely to stall then the Sabre and I know anyone who knows anything about either one of these canopies will agree with me. You can go into a full flare with much less chance of a stall with a Spectre then you can with the Sabre 2. It's whatever your school of thought is and how far along you are on your canopy skills that should be your final decision. I believe the Spectre to be a much better canopy for newcomers or folks with less then 200 jumps but that's just my opinion. I have seen canopy pilots that are more proficient with 50 jumps then some that have 500. It's all up to the individual but I recommend trying them both to see what you think. Either way I have had a Spectre around since as long as I can remember even when I started with a Sabre, Stiletto, Vengeance, and then Velocity. You just can't go wrong with a Spectre. All around great canopy. There are 3 kinds of people in this world, those that know how to count, and those who don't.
  17. Thanks for checking I appreciate it. I also downloaded the software again which I knew I already had and it still isn't working. Just wanted to make sure it wasn't just me. There are 3 kinds of people in this world, those that know how to count, and those who don't.
  18. When anybody who reads this post gets a chance could you check on the Mirage website and see if the color picker program is working. I am trying to order a new rig and I have never had a problem with the macro player before that runs the color picker software. I thought it was my computer but I went to my Mac and had the same problem. I want to see if for whatever reason both my computers are not working correctly. I hate filling out the forms manually so anyone who can help I would greatly appreciate it. Also, does anyone know if that program is anywhere else online. I have already sent an email to Mirage but I hate bothering them. Thanks There are 3 kinds of people in this world, those that know how to count, and those who don't.

  20. I read this post before I looked at the picture and oh my God you are so dead on with your analysis. That's too funny.
  21. That has to be the best kept record of skydives I have ever seen. I feel guilty for what my jump records look like. Good example for the rest of us! There are 3 kinds of people in this world, those that know how to count, and those who don't.

    Katana 135

Does anybody know when PD is planning to release the 135 Katana. I have a 120 now and absolutely love it but somehow over the winter all my clothes have shrunk and somehow I think I would like to have a second canopy that is a little bigger.
