Possible to combine three threads tonight? Too much sex, funky dreams, and naked guy post whore glory? Ping... ball's in your court, so to speak.
-
Okay... there is no such thing as too much sex, but my crotch is stitched closed and I have no teeth. Bolas's suggestion should work, barring any weird dreams tonight... Or, were you talking about mythbusters?! Damn fast on that Edit button, huh?

I need to feel better, dammit! Share them then!!

What a way to see the silver lining! I told my therapist my dream and she laughed so hard she didn't make any noise for about 20 seconds and then began to cry! The following night I dreamt I was traveling the world as Steve Carell and that when my teeth fell out (often happens in my dreams) they would spring back up like drops of water as miniature pigs. Does anyone else have these kinds of dreams?

Okay, the other night I had this bizarre dream that I was being forced to walk up a set of stairs naked. To make matters worse, the stairs had a divide in the middle and a bunch of people were standing below and looking up. To make matters even worse, in the process of being force to walk naked up the broken steps, someone stitched my crotch closed. Have at it dream analyzers!

Another chance for you to to do my homework! (fun this time)
jellob replied to Cashmanimal's topic in The Bonfire
Does your office know that the holes on the sides of hole-punched paper should be on the left and that when you staple paper together you MUST, I repeat, MUST make it so the bar part is on top and the 'teeth' grab around the back?! I make my students remove the staple (with an appropriate staple remover, of course) and restaple if the teeth are on the front. Now booking for my Art and Science of Fastening 101 class. -

I love my Staples One-Touch Executive Stapler and bought several for me and my classroom. I get annoyed when my students drop it and recently took it away from them and gave them an old stapler to break. I have also had to show them how to staple papers together at a perfect 45 degree angle with all the papers lined up. I also have an antique stapler. It is from Ace Fastener Corp and is the Pilot version. Not sure if it works, but it is damn pretty! I could email a picture, if you need it! And.... neurotic moment.... DONE! -
um... gonads... and... you're it!

CEOs with Extreme Hobbies Should Give Investors Pause
jellob replied to ntrprnr's topic in The Bonfire
Where does it stop, though? If CEOs should disclose their extracurriculars in an attempt to allay fears or hide them to keep business, who else is likewise affected? A colleague of mine suggested I keep my hobby a secret since "no level minded parent would want someone who jumps out of planes teaching their children right and wrong." I dealt with him directly, but do you think he is correct? Should we have to disclose what we do because it makes others scared?! As far as the CEO article goes, as long as a succession plan is in place, it ought not matter what one does outside of work as long as it does not have a direct impact on work itself. -
I live right outside Manhattan and have never met Peter! Question is: does Peter want to meet any of us / me?

Thanks piratemike, it worked! I guess I only had part of the directions. Appreciate the help!

I have an old, slow computer, but I want to take my jump videos and get screen grabs from them. I have been told that I can watch the video and at the right moment to press PRINT SCREEN. I tried this, to no avail. Any other suggestions?

Looking to plan a trip to South Africa for next summer and am hoping that those who live there or those who have visited can help. I want to do some typical touristy things, but also want to be close to a dz so I can jump. I want to avoid a resort-type setting, though. Specific suggestions on where to go? Certain dzs that you like? Thanks in advance.

I thought I would start my own thread similar to Hackish's post... Had my 10th jump the other day and passed AFP. Jumped a new canopy for the first time and had problems from opening on. I am now terrified to jump again. First, my opening was excessively hard. I have bruises in places I have never bruised before. Second, in going through my checks, I discovered that I had to hold my right toggle in almost half brakes and left in full flight in order to stay on heading (and, no, my leg straps were not uneven). I tested out flying in full flight and when I did, my canopy spun me pretty violently to the left and twisted my lines. I grabbed the risers, kicked out, and just held the toggles unevenly to get back to my holding area. Third, in landing I flared when I normally would, but never heard or felt the air come out of the canopy and slammed into the ground. Error on my part to not PLF, but I knew I flared and thought I was fine. I kept looking up at my canopy while under it thinking I would see something obviously wrong, but I am still such an infant in the sport that I would not know what to look for! Before the "talk to your instructors" police jump all over this, I have. I like to hear from others as well, though. Thoughts? Words of wisdom?

Not only is the ad perfect, but the necklaces are beautiful and everything you advertised! So, yes, some people advertising on DZ.com should take a lesson from airathanas. I have sent several PMs to other sellers regarding used gear and only once did I receive an email that the item was already sold. Really annoying.

Soooo.... What crazy things do you do sonomatommy?!

I'd have to agree more with Rygon on this one. I was given similar advice when I posted about having an unsupportive husband! He will never come to the DZ, never watch my dvds, and freaked out the other day some new gear arrived at the door. So integrating him into my new hobby is not going to happen, at least not easily or anytime soon. What seems to be working, though, is that he is becoming more and more interested in his own new hobby (and I am showing outrageous support of that) and as the winter begins to approach we will begin skiing / snowboarding together. Maybe you could support her interests somehow as she would be more likely to then support yours. Good luck!

Landed off??....Let's hear about it!
jellob replied to kturnau's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
AFF2: really.... First load up for the day and winds not quite where we thought. Also, being that this was only my second solo, I took time going through my canopy checks and sort of forgot to orient myself correctly. Was blown past the dz and when I, and instructor on radio, realized I would not make it back, we began to look for alternate landings. My choices were: the woods or a parking lot filled with cars bordered by powerlines. On the radio I was told to prepare for a PLF in the parking lot, but I somehow managed to pilot my canopy to the very tiny patch of grass between the parking lot and powerlines. Scared the crap out of me! My canopy checks go much faster now!! -
I am still a student, but am looking to start buying some gear. I have figured out which altimeter, helmet, and jumpsuit I want, but have yet to figure out which goggles are appropriate for me. They seem to range from $5 to $100 and have features which seem nice, but excessive. Any suggestions?

Being a student of a pretty hard-nosed instructor, I can appreciate both sides of this thread. I use these Forums for social reasons, but also have used them to ask questions (either for clarification or for more information). I get to my DZ two to three times a month and between my AFF jumps I always come up with questions or concerns. I was recently PMing someone about pilot chutes and stowed sliders and while we did go over it in ground school now that I see it all in action I have even more questions. My last jump was scrubbed due to weather, so I sent my questions along via PM. This is not to say that I will not also discuss them with my instructor, though. Other former students of my AFFI will talk to me, but once he walks up, they will immediately stop talking. I asked about this once and was told that my AFFI gets upset when he hears other students or recent grads 'teaching.' I like the Forums being a newbie because it allows me to see what other people are experiencing at different levels. They also allow me to ask questions and to take that information, hold onto it, and ask my instructor when I jump again. Ultimately, however, it is whatever my instructor says that I do.

Quotei've gotten the "Were those stickers on your jeep when you bought it?" Only appropriate response here is to ask if his balls were in his pants when he bought them...

I am so with you! Jelly HAS to go on first! Are you neurotic about how to eat the sandwich, though? Do you start from the corners and work your way in or do you just dive in wherever?! Me, I'm a symmetrical eater. If I bite from one corner I have to even it out on the other. I just shared too much...
