  1. I'm not sure what I said or did to make you think that i in any way agree with Ron's views on who does or doesn't belong in the kingdom of God, but i assure you, i most certainly do NOT agree with him. But i AM a Christian (though i would suppose he doesn't think so). Nor do i think your post is particularly flattering to non-Christians, though i understand what you are trying to say. Perhaps you could find a more loving way to say it, though This is the reason many Christians have started calling themselves "Followers of Jesus." the label "Christian" just has negative and completely NON-Christian connotations now, unfortunately. 2. Because it's a measure specifically put in place to protect internet poker from the UIGEA. Do you know what that is? It was this little rider that was inserted onto the safe port act in the middle of the night (LITERALLY) before the vote that makes it illegal for banks to host transactions for internet gambling sites. (Funny how the people crying about government takeover of banks all seem to SUPPORT this type of legislation on "moral" grounds) Here, read about it. Check the references at the bottom. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SAFE_Port_Act Or if you prefer: The text of the SAFE Port Act: http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/z?d109:H.R.4954: Analysis of the UIGEA: http://www.gamblingandthelaw.com/columns/2006_act.htm And the original press release from the House regarding Frank's bill: http://www.house.gov/apps/list/press/financialsvcs_dem/press042607.shtml Trust me, i know what i'm talking about with the internet poker bill. Right now it's my only form of (albeit meager) income, and I know ALL ABOUT what the government is and isn't doing in regards to it. This bill's purpose is to protect people like me from things like the southern district of new york seizing over $30 million of legitimate winnings based on shaky "legal" grounds. Yes, it's regulating and taxing the industry. But this is a "blocker" bill so Charles Dobson and his religious cronies and Rep. Spencer Bachaus don't swoop in and make it completely and totally illegal. It also serves to effectively repeal the UIGEA. Oh, and by the way for all you "libertarians" out there...Ron Paul is a co-sponsor of Barney Frank's bill. whoops, forgot a link. There's a TON of info about this issue on this site, if you're interested: http://theppa.org/ Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!
  3. Since i started jumping at Perris 5 years ago, the Bombshelter has gone from poor to excellent. Probably has something to do with hiring a real chef and a real restaurant manager, but i could be wrong. But i think the best food i had was at Skydive Chicago. 4. what, so i can learn to be full of hate toward my fellow man? thanks, i'll pass. And you failed to answer my question, which was NOT rhetorical: What if your neighbor is a gay man who smokes marijuana? Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!
  5. I think you're looking for love in all the wrong faces. How immensely Christ-like of you. It might surprise you that I, too, am a Christian. Seems like so many forget that pesky second clause of the Great Commandment...the whole "love your neighbor as yourself" thing. So...what if your neighbor happens to be a gay man who smokes marijuana? Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!
  6. oh come on, you're an expert at hyperbole, don't you recognize it when you see it? This whole thread is hyperbole, on both sides. I've never ever portrayed myself as someone who cares more about the economy than social freedoms. I have always and will always put social issues above economic ones. I also happen to believe that getting the gov't out of our homes and private lives will help us in the long run economically. I also don't really care if you disagree, or think i'm naive or stupid. Save it. I know the bills that he is currently sponsoring that *I* care about are the ones mentioned in the OP, and... H.R.2267 : To amend title 31, United States Code, to provide for the licensing of Internet gambling activities by the Secretary of the Treasury, to provide for consumer protections on the Internet, to enforce the tax code, and for other purposes. (40 co-sponsors) This SOUNDS like it limits freedom, but what it REALLY does is protect internet poker from being banned outright, which is a move sponsored by Focus on the Family and other right wing "family values" groups. H.R.3017 : To prohibit employment discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity. (126 co-sponsors). 'nuff said. 7. uh, last i checked, "yes" is not an answer to a "how..." question. Barney Frank is my absolute favorite congressman right now, because for all the crying the right wing does about less government, he's the one out there actually working to get the government OUT of our homes, off our bodies, out of our bedrooms, etc. exactly the places government does NOT need to be. And he's one of the most "liberal" people in Congress. and for a christian, the article Ron posted sure doesn't sound very loving, does it? 8. honestly...beautiful because of what it represents. And no i'm not just trying to be sappy Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!

  10. mustard-based is SOUTH Carolina style. As for NC: http://hkentcraig.com/BBQexp.html come on, get it right! I prefer the Eastern NC style, slow cooked whole-hog pork (pulled, of course) in a vinegar and hot-pepper "sauce". All that tomato-based stuff they serve anywhere west of Raleigh is just too heavy for me. oh man, i miss it...no one out here knows what the hell they're doing. 11. not an option...Austrians must be really tall Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!
  12. um....did you miss spiral's post? So how do you propose that $841M should be made up? Please, rather than just complaining about taxes, offer a solution. Come on, you have 841 MILLION DOLLARS to solve. be realistic. Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!
  13. yah, the only mention of illegals was in the "law enforcement" section where you could choose to get them out of our prisons and turn them to the INS for deportation. Of course it's a limited simulation, there's no way they could feasibly put every possible cut/tax on there. I was also a little disappointed at not seeing things like legalizing marijuana or even eliminating prison sentences for non-violent drug possession/use charges. Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!
  14. yeah...sorry to the "no new taxes" crowd. Sometimes, you just have to bite the bullet and raise em up. I ended up with about 2-4 cuts (only 1 from education) from each area and a few new taxes. Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!

  16. when you have a 27" inseam, seat height matters...a lot Oh, and there's no "stretching out" for me, either. That's due to the 13" torso length (waist to nape of my neck). yeah, i'm fuckin' short. Unless i get a ducati, i'm relegated to standard style bikes, or 250s or 400s disguised as sportbikes That being said, my next will be a 750-ish of some sort. be it a GSXR, or a Duc... Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!
  17. i've wanted a Monster for a while, the low seat height makes it one of the few "rockets" i can ride comfortably. Actually, i can fit on all of Ducati's bikes (well, except the Multistradas). Italians must be short. Though i must say, several of the Japanese makers have been steadily lowering their superbike seat heights, as well. I was shocked when i could sit on all of the 2008 GSXRs and touch both feet. Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!
  18. this is CA....people ride like this ALL THE TIME. At least he isn't wearing shorts (which is also common). stupidity at it's finest, folks. Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!
  19. Seriously, if you have seen even one episode of this show, you'd be giving Jon a little more credit. True, he is like a 32-year old kid. BUT...she is the most controlling, obsessive, whiny, spoiled BITCH i have ever seen. Honestly, I think she should be grateful that all he did was cheat...if i was him, they'd be hunting me down for murder. Then again, i tend to seriously scorn "high-maintenance" women, and she's as high-maintenance as they come. Oh, and she cheated, too. And the cheating is rarely the CAUSE of a wrecked marriage...it's more like a symptom. Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!
  20. I might have a record here... I bought my ProTrack in 1996, when i bought my first full set of gear. I had about 100 jumps then. I now have over 3000, most of them 4 way and 8 way, in the tail slot. I had my ProTrack mounted to the outside of my Oxygen A3 for most of that time, with NO rubber band. Anyone who has flown tail will tell you, there's a lot of incidental contact with bars, doors, and people in that slot. About 1 month ago, the display on my ProTrack FINALLY cracked (don't even remember why), after almost 13 years of continuous use. It is currently in the mail to Denmark. Not even sure the ProTrack of today is the same as the one i sent back, so they might just replace it, who knows. I will swear by L&B's products and service for the rest of my skydiving career, and i doubt i'll ever have the occasion to buy anything else. L&B rocks, IMHO Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!
  21. I live in Ramona. If the Cessna can't carry all the rigs and stuff, i might be able to do that for you, just let me know. Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!
  22. by the way! If any of my SoCal friends need a ride up there and back, i will be driving up on wednesday (leaving whenever) and coming back either Sunday or Monday. Car would have room for one or two people with gear :P Just shoot me a PM on here if you're interested! Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!

  24. It's going to take longer then that. All this shit stemmed from slavery and slavery got shit done for thousands of years. wow. Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!
  25. side story: I got called a cunt at the casino once in a cash poker game when i knocked TWO guys off the table in one hand. The funny part was, the people who were most offended by it were the other guys at the table...i was just laughing as the dealer shipped me the pot Point is, i am not a good judge of what is or isn't offensive...since i am rarely offended EVER. Back to the subject...the picture is just stupid, and i have to agree with quade here...to whom did she think it would be OK to send it? Then again, this is Tennessee. No offense to any Vols out there, but half my family is from TN, and while blatant racism is less prevalent now, there's a constant underlying current of SUBTLE racism that runs throughout daily life in the south, no question about it. edited for really poor grammar...
