What is most frustrating is that we are forced to move here. I had to quit my job of which I was successful at. Now I am here, no job, no affordable housing. My time is spent looking for housing that can hold us over until we get military housing. Until this 3-6month waitlist is over we are forced to live out of boxes, which means I can't pursue most of my hobbies bc they are in storage. I have cried for 3 days straight, and I would do just about anything to move. There aren't likely any jobs in my field so although I worked really hard in school and my industry, I will be working at McDonalds to pay for the storage/overpriced dump we will live in. Thanks to this particular location and this organization!

I did PRK this past January, and as far as I was told its a longer heal time. I have heard of stories of those doing Lasik, had perfect eyesight in less than a day. I was required to take a week off work. My PRK took about 2 weeks to get perfect eyesight and it was very painful EVERY day. My doctor assured me that it was normal and that I was a pretty quick healer at one week. I planned my PRK so that I had plenty of time to heal before skydiving... now 2.5 months later, I am still not completely healed. I am sensitive to light (its difficult to see a skydiver under canopy when facing the sun), and I am also sensitive to wind (when I am sitting next to the open door without goggles on, I have to shut my eyes). Honestly you should have done a bit more research on this. My doctor recommended PRK for me, bc the shape of my eye. That being said I enjoy waking up in the morning and actually being able to see. I went from -2400 to 20:15 vision in about a month. There are good things and bad things about choosing PRK vs Lasik, but I think that should be discussed with your doctor. If I had a choice, I would have picked Lasik, bc of the heal time... but it may not be for everyone.

yea my parents know. They knew about the first jump and were okay with it. Then when my mom found out I was continuing with it, she thought it was a waste of time and my money. She tried every effort to try and make me stop. We stopped talking all together for about 6 months... sooner or later she gave in and realized that I have been financially independent and living on my own since 17... she could no longer control me... She has come around and although she still hates that I jump, she acknowledges that I am going to do it...

I weigh 105lbs... I can arch really well, but sometimes when there are funnels its difficult. I wear a tight suit and depending on the jump I might wear 4-25lbs. When the exit is funneled I dive down to it. Its kinda like a track except you try to put your head down more and I tuck my arms behind me. If its just heavy jumpers and you are arched as much as you can and are wearing weights, I usually opt out of the next jump. My suggestion is to learn to dive down to a formation. Sooner or later you will have to get good at it.
