  1. Here are some photos that Jim and I took at the CFWR week. http://www1.snapfish.com/share/p=263231198470582521/l=324533208/g=101800601/otsc=SYE/otsi=SALB The 100-way ones I took are not very good because it was a mile away, but I put them in so you could see what it looked like from the ground. I like my shots of the 96-way because they were so close to me. Thanks for sucking it down for the camera! My very favorites are Jim’s shots from inside the formation on the second 100-way. If you’d like any pics just let me know what pic number/s and I’ll e-mail them to you. I hope to see you all very soon. We’ll be jumping in Puerto Rico Feb.13-17th, and we need more CRW family so… Love you all, April Schuldt Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want.
  2. Just wondering if Mike got the condo for the CRW dawgs again this year, that was the plan last I heard. Is this still an option for us? CRW Skies, April Schuldt Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want.
  3. Now I've got Alice's Restaurant stuck in my head, thank you, thank you, thank you. Joe's on most of the walls in my house. I wake up to the 85-way flying right at me every morning, another formation in my kitchen, another in the dining room, and another in the living room. Q's in all these formations as well. When I sit with my thoughts it's overwhelmingly sad. When I look up at the walls in my house and see my friends, I can't help but smile and blow them kisses. This sure f*cking sucks though. CRW Skies, April Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want.
  4. Good Luck to you all. It will be a fantastic sight to see! I can't think of anywhere else I'd rather be than Lake Wales for this event with the most amazing fliers in the world-- who also happen to be some of the best people I've ever met. Now I'll bow my head and say a CRW dog prayer with you," Please God, don't let me fuck this up, again" CF World Record Skies, April See you in a day! Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want.
  5. Thank you--very informative. I deleted my post because I already got yelled at I was just curious--seemed scary. I get a little worked up about safety, and had never heard of that. I am with the school of "look at red, hands on red, look at reserve, pull red, pull reserve" I don't agree with one hand on each either, as I know/have seen very poor outcomes to that method, although that argument could go on forever. Thanks for educating me, that's what this forum is for. Blue Skies, April Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want.
  6. Really? Really, really, really? I've never heard of that type of EP training. They really teach you that??? So....you are going in, tumbling around perhaps, and you feel you have the time and can locate your cables with your thumb before pulling your reserve? Wow!! Are you counting on your RSL to save your ass? You shouldn't be, and I'll tell you fumbling around to get your thumb in to pull out the rest of your cutaway cables could take the rest of your life. Sorry if I'm coming off a little harsh, but this seems weird to me. I've had one high speed mal. and I'm 5'3" with small arms--had no problem pulling that f*cker all the way out before pulling my reserve. I do not want to say your instructors are wrong--do what you were taught, but I'd ask around about this method. On a side note: I don't know what they taught you about hanging onto your handles, but some people already made references to stuffing handles in their shirt, etc. Hanging onto handles isn't what you should be focusing on. Get rid of 'em--unless you are already under a good reserve and notice they are still in your hands. Good luck & Blue Skies, April Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want.
  7. I clicked on this thread thinking that you accidentally added an s to video, and was curious to see who had video of someone stealing deployment bags...really. Seemed kinda odd... April Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want.
  8. Funny thread, thanks, I needed a good laugh--here's some more: What's Helen Keller's favorite color?...............Chuck Norris. Chuck Norris is allowed to talk about fight club. Chuck Norris doesn't have pubic hair, because hair can't grow on steel. Chuck Norris & Mr.T walked into a bar, then it exploded, because that level of awesomeness can't be contained in just one building. Chuck Norris got an erection while walking down the street...there were no survivors. Chuck Norris built the hospital he was born in. Chuck Norris can speak Braille. 9. I'm a bit tech. challenged, but my advice would be to lie. It works for porn sites Oh shit...I think so anyway CRW Skies, April Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want.
  10. Found this on exact location. The plane crashed just east of the crest of the Cascades, about five miles south of White Pass and on the edge of the Goat Rocks Wilderness, said Wayne Frudd of Yakima County Search and Rescue. The crash site is about 25 miles southeast of Mount Rainier. Still hoping..... April Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want.
  11. J,my friend: I send you my very best, as does the rest of Seven Hills, but out of all the stuff you mentioned on your wonderful list of things you've done-- I can't seem to find "landed my first 3-stack!!" Yeah, yeah I know my battery died on the actual landing part, but here's the last shot I got before it quit. It was fun hanging out with you & your positive vibes--don't ever change. Take Care of yourself & Happy belated Birthday! Best of luck to you. CRW Skies, April Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want.
  12. Pictures of the foot controlled frontriser: Here's Brian Scott coming in to land with his setup at Z-hills after filming a large CRW formation 9-22-07. This man is an amazing photographer with a ton of experience and valuable information. If you ever have the opportunity to ask his advice on filming a formation I highly recommend it! 13. I use two carabiners connected by some Dacron line. I fold it up and stuff it in an elastic pouch and put it on my cheststrap. When using, check your airspace first, then clip each carabiner to each front dive loop and get your feet on the line. As with any front riser input you'll have to play around with it to see how your canopy reacts. This playing around will also help you to determine how long/short the Dacron line should be. If you use this set-up, remember to "stand up" on the line to get the effect you want or you will most likely end up in a somewhat reclined position, which will not give you the same front riser input you are going for. The release system is called a "hook knife" Before landing just kick the line off your feet and let it trail behind you. If you aren't comfortable with that-in clear airspace unclip it, fold it back up, and stuff it in the pouch--obviously allowing yourself plenty of time to do so before landing. If you want ANY just PM me the picture number/s (& yer e-mail) and I'll send them to you full size. We lost our light on the Q memorial jump, but I still threw a few in there. See you at CSS! 16. Hey Keith, You guys were great! (Not just because of the good beer you gave us either!) Great flying, good attitudes, and lots of jumps. I'll attach a few of my favorites shots, but I have to shrink them down pretty small to post them here so forgive me if they're grainy. Jim's still talking about what a good camp it was. Hope to see you guys soon and keeping CRW alive here in the midwest as you all do so well. CRW Skies, April Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want.
  17. This past weekend a beginner CRW camp was held at SkyKnights DZ in East Troy, WI. taught and organized by Hairy Bob and Jim Rasmussen. There were 6 people in the camp who all did remarkably well for beginners. Lots of great flying doing rotations, stacks, offsets, planes, tagging diamonds, and even decent landings! Congrats to the new pups: Dan Raymund, Tim Shue, Julie Kniech, Brian Martin, and John Bechtel for all getting their four stack awards!! There were no injuries and one fatality = a deer, that Todd Zimmerman hit w/ his car driving home Sat. nite He's O.K., his car was not, which prevented him from getting his four stack I'm confident he would have gotten on Sun. Weather cooperated beautifully which wasn't expected at all for Sun. All jumps were done out of a PAC 750 flown by Raven and everyone at East Troy treated us awesome. Three of the pups are seriously looking to buy lightnings, so PLEASE if anyone has any 160's or 176's they want to sell you can PM me here or shoot something to the CRW list. There really is nothing cooler than the excitement and energy people have after a CRW jump, and I haven't seen beginners this pumped up about CRW in quite awhile. Very refreshing! Bob and Jim did a great job organizing. Everyone that jumped landed in the landing area, Linda Ruiz got in on some jumps, & I got to do some video as well. I'm attaching a few pics that were taken by Hoochie (Tim Hajewski) who followed the last CRW load. He got footage of Jim, John, Dan and Brian and then flew down and caught Bob and Tim flying a two stack. Very nicely done. Hope to see you all soon at Jumptown, and if you wanna come play before that; WI is beautiful this time of year! CRW Skies, April Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want.
  18. 1)It's a mag. award-so what! 2)Being upset at her over $ is as useful as being bitter at the "Daddy owns a plane/DZ" brat who is an amazing jumper. Or being mad at one's neighbor for having a better car, wife, or lawn. Such is life. If one compares themselves to others they will become vain and bitter, for there will always be greater and lesser persons than ourselves. Right? 3)replying to PeterB who wrote< ...getting there in three yrs....practically unheard of in modern skydiving..> Ah, you forget tunnels. 4) So maybe a Tunnel award, IMO I'll always be more impressed by the jumper who learned their skills whilst diving thru the sky, hence the name of the award "Skydiver" of the year. Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want.
  19. You didn't see shot 2850? That's a gorgeous shot!!-and kinda a smile! If anyone wants pics PM me your e-mail and pic. number and I'll get 'em to you. We (Jim & I) actually have tons more, just didn't post them all. We might have a sequence of you landing or something. Let me know! April Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want.
  20. I could've just posted the link here-duh. Wanted to make you work for it I guess. The time change is still messing with my mind. Go find it!!! Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want.

  23. Just saw Mike a few days ago and it looks like he's gonna have his hands full for the next couple of weeks. He was talking "availability" with this group and wants them at Z-hills A.S.A.P. to work with exclusively. Sorry man. CRW Skies, April (see attachment) Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want.
  24. I wanna second that- AWESOME boogie! Thanx to all! I met alot of new amazing people and hope to stay in touch.(I'm April from WI) I was mostly filming the CRW jumps, but Jim and I got hundreds of pics from group shots to landings/swoops, scenic beach shots from the air, all the parties, and yeah, some great fireblowing rum pics! It may take me a bit to get all the pics out, so please be patient-I promise it will be worth the wait! I will put a link out on this forum when it's ready. I currently have no home e-mail, so please anyone feel free to PM me here, and if you're looking for particular pics-just let me know. It's gauranteed if you were there we got you on film! Hope to see you all soon somewhere, but I'll definitely be going back next year. And yes, the weather here is fucking awful! CRW Skies, April Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want.
  25. My 1st, and only cutaway to date, was around 400 jumps. 2 jumps before, on different days, I had pilot chute hesitation and both times said, "I need a new pilot chute." Didn't get one, (VERY STUPID) next jump had a pilot chute in tow. Couldn't reach the bridle- was at 2000- said Fuck it. Did my EP, very intinctively- with my main just clearing my reserve(yeah, I know), and was under a reserve with a built in left turn! This started spiraling me to the left-I counteracted it all the way till I landed safe on the runway. A girl on my load ran up to me and said,"I didn't know you bought a new all-white canopy!! Dipshit. Anyway, everyone said,"Ya gotta get back on the horse!". So I grabbed my CRW rig and was up a load later. It did help, but I admit I was pretty scared on the ride to altitude. Needless to say the Co. that built my reserve gave me a free new one-don't know if that's a good thing or not! Bottom line-Keep your gear in good condition!
