  1. ^This. ^Is. ^Awesome. Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want.
  2. EXACTLY. Thank You. (I asked for a loved ones reaction to this. He is in the Military & also a skydiver serving overseas right now. Been serving 20yrs. ) "The Military doesn't train it's soldiers to act like whiney bitches. A real soldier would have said,"Yes, Ma'am" instead of trashing a DZ. I also know alot of people who came overseas, never saw action, and choose to use their Military status to bitch about everything for the rest of their lives and think they are entitled to free shit everywhere they go..they are an embarrassment to the Military, because the few bitching give us all a bad name. No wonder we are treated like crap when we get home. If this is the kind of shit that infuriates this guy I wonder how he got through any type of deployment at all. I give people more shit during our morning shit than this DZ did. I value being a skydiver. We get to put all our differences aside and all be bonded by the beauty of it. I don't want to go to any DZ where some pansy ass U.S.ex-soldier gets all butt hurt because he can't set his differences aside. He wanted a reaction, that's what he got. Be a f*cking man about it, not a F*ckin pussy! Or just leave the DZ if you don't like they way they run it. The more places to jump, the better. The more pansy-ass butt hurt people that aren't at a DZ, the better. I have some very good friends from Qatar. I understand and respect their culture because I'm smart and a decent guy. My Military status doesn't give me the right to be a f*ckin prick every where I go. This country would do better to realize we all get freedom of speech no matter where you are from. It's what we fight for and what makes this country great. Don't like people excercising their right to speak up? Only you get freedom, not anyone else? Man up & STFU asshole." (end of letter, name left out intentionally) I agree with him. Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want.
  3. Ouch Yeah, I'm not very good with the "too soon?' stuff. RIP Jenny I know, I need a thicker skin, esp. in this sport. BUT, for the person asking, I have a few used Zute suits, PM me your measurements and what colors aren't acceptable for you. I may be able to hook you up w one for a very reasonable price. If you honestly already paid Jenny for it I'd probably give one to you for just S&H. Blue Skies, April Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want.
  4. I tip the maid if they were good, which is usually the case. If they don't clean the room at all or really did a terrible job, then I put a tube stow in the sheets Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want.
  5. Oh, you mean just like every skydiver out there? It's Yeager. He's old AND bold, so I think he gets to say whatever he wants! He could care less if people view him as arrogant. Would you care, if you were Yeager? I doubt it Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want.
  6. Read this today in another thread and found it to be interesting, since you don't pull in the tunnel either. Yes, this can happen from being sore from a number of things, just something to be aware of, as most people are really sore after tunnel time. So I'd also suggest practice touches in the tunnel if you aren't already. I'm sure I am "talking out my ass" again by providing more food for thought, so take it with a grain.. 7. Cool~See ya in the desert! What are you competing in? Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want.

  9. Really? I need to explain this one? I thought I was pointing out the obvious in the first place. Here are a few things that are contributing to canopy collisions these days as pointed out by a fellow jumper: Bigger airplanes=more canopies. Wind tunnels=false sense of security under canopy. Higher wingloading is cool=rapid downsizing. First man down=lots of confusion. Full face helmets =not hearing well, seeing well or yelling well. More than 90's=high speed, low vision, little outs. Some people have 1,000 jumps, some people have one jump 1,000 times. Old school landing techniques vs. new school. Dirt diving the skydive, never dirt diving the canopy flight. Fighter jets, cargo planes and 182's all landing at the same "airport". Ok, you can digest this how you'd like, but next time please don't use the statement "fill us in", it implies that some are on the same uneducated plane as yourself. 10. ***Not for canopy work. --exactly As useful as a wind tunnel may be to work on freefall skills, it's true that you don't learn canopy work. This is one factor contributing to canopy collisions. Someone who is tearin it up in the wind tunnel gets confident about tearing it up in the sky and then comes that 'whole part of the dive where you are under canopy'. Use the tunnel, but do what teams do then& devote hop&pops to exits & canopy work over and over again. Just a suggestion. Blue Skies~April Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want.
  11. "For what reason but a lower overall descentrate should someone love/perfer flying a Lightning? I dont get it, please help me out... " AND "We got Storms for CRW and I´m far from being an expert, but to me the wing is very superior in every aspect. Am I missing anything?? *** The Lightning has a quicker recovery than the storm when it gets in a whirley, wrap, etc. ~It will reinflate quicker than the Storm. So I don't consider your Storm a superior wing in every aspect. It's CRW, you want your wing to reinflate ASAP. I think high descent rate with slower reinflation is not what one is looking for in a CRW canopy. That being said, lots of CRW people love em, these have just been my findings Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want.

  18. Me too. I know this one kid: A-student, good kid, well liked. He 'streaked' his Highschool's last football game of his senior year, here in WI. He is now a reg. sex offender for life. Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want.
  19. Of course not!, because abused children never come from broken homes. As far as most are concerned on here, it's being an abusive parent by ignoring your kid to go jump while in your custody. So was it when the parents were still married and he, or they both, selfishly jumped? Probably not. Bitterness seems to be the driving force here. Then again, I wasn't in the courtroom either. Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want.
  20. Really? Only every teenager/pre-teen I've ever met has been embarrassed by their parents to the point they don't want them around, sometimes for years in their development. It's actually quite normal and healthy. Just because they don't say it to the parents they'd offend, doesn't mean they aren't thinking it. I can tell you firsthand that abused children sure wish thier parents hadn't spent so much time with them. Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want.
  21. Believe it or not, kids don't like being suffocated by a parent no matter how often they see them. Spending time with a child doesn't mean every waking moment should be devoted to them. Also, children are happy when their parents are happy. Kids know when their parents are miserable or not. They don't want miserable parents. They also enjoy meeting their parents friends because they realize these people play a large role in their parent's happiness. One of my dear friends, who is a longtime jumper and a straight up decent person, had to accept, as part of the partial custody, that he was not allowed at the DZ when he had his daughters. He got them on weekends, the only days of the week he could jump. His bitter ex knew exactly what she was doing to him. It sucked because those kids had fun at the dz and liked to see their Dad having fun. I am a single parent and my son, now 19, was at the dz since he was 5. He is grateful for my jumping as it made me happy, my friends made me happy, and he has lots of memories of him being happy. Go figure, a place full of life with the best people I've ever met. Who gets to determine what quality time between a parent and their child is? I think the parent and the child. *unless the kids are brats, then keep em at home for some quality discipline time :)* Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want.
  22. Your statement seems odd to me. Shouldn't you be planning for very odd eventualities and ones you have complete control over on every jump ? No? I can't agree with the line of reasoning that That shouldn't happen to a TM if they did what they were supposed to do... unless, TM's aren't susceptible to human error and Murphy's Law doesn't apply to them, Then you are correct-No tandem master should ever f*ck up, because they are tandem masters. I'd rather have one prepared for the odd eventuality, than not. You know, like EP's ;) "You shouldn't have a malfunction IF you did what you were supposed to do...." 23. The 24 stack was built with the jumpers exiting from a helicopter along side the stack as it built. Just saying... Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want.
  24. Don!? You got f*cked over too?? What are you out? I've been trying to help track him down for my friend Lennie. He's out $7,200, and gearless. Guess ALOT of people got burned. Gary, I hear Karma Krew can be a real bitch Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want.
