CPR is an amazing tool that anyone can learn. The benefits to knowing CPR can alone carry the argument as to why people should be certified. I am new instructor and am very excited about getting out there and teaching this valuable tool to people. I was thinking about contacting the DZ's in my area and offering classes. Some CPR facts: CPR helps maintain vital blood flow to the heart and brain and increases the amount of time that an electric shock from a defibrillator can be effective. Effective bystander CPR, provided immediately after cardiac arrest, can double a victim’s chance of survival. Approximately 95 percent of sudden cardiac arrest victims die before reaching the hospital. Brain death starts to occur four to six minutes after someone experiences cardiac arrest if no CPR and defibrillation occurs during that time. Cardiac arrest can be caused by many things, including physical stress. ...ok serious post over... you may carry on with the silliness now....

I feel like it went really really well The interview lasted nearly 2 hrs! I got a lot of positive feedback and overall I just feel good, so we shall see, he said I should know something in about a week and a half... Praying & crossing my fingers & toes!!!!!!

Mine are thru Student Assistance Foundation www.safaccount.org (I think...) good luck! PS I would go with the Phlebotomy class, will be a lot more helpful towards becoming a nurse, while CNA's are needed and respected, when it comes down to it, they don't really do more than wipe butts and all of the other things the RN's and LPN's don't want to do....

Thanks to everyone! I am so excited, when I got the message last week to call, I actually had to get a grip before I called back... (thx Deedy for getting me thru that!) It has always been my dream to work in Emrgency Medicine. I have a lot of pride when it comes for working for my county too... This is so much more than a job, it is giving me the opportunity to make a difference!!! I will let ya'll know how it went tomorrow. My interview is scheduled for 1500 tomorrow.....

I'm skeptical. To a true Southerner, I thought "pop" and "soda" were technically "Coke." Pop is what I heard up north central. Down south we ask, "Do you want a Coke?" "Sure, I'll have a Sprite." EXACTLY!!!!! Every type of carbonated beverage in the south is a "coke"... There are many varieties of "coke" in the south... Dr. Pepper, Pepsi, ,Orange Crush, Sprite, 7UP, etc, etc etc...
