I don't know what the Fedex meet is but most every league this weekend has a meet that corresponds to the NSL Regional Playoffs. This is qualifying for SkyQuest in November.

ASC (www.ascskydiving.com) flies the otter all week. They have $15 jumps on Wednesdays too. Skydive Monroe (www.skydivemonroe.com) may also fly jumpers during the week. I'm not positive though.

I have an Odyssey that is 13.". I had to have the container rotated further back on the harness (even without the yoke it was digging into my neck). But other than that it fits great. I have the low profile reserve handle and have never had a problem there.

$19 to 13.5+ $15 on wednesdays cheap hop and pops and several weekends have cheaper jumps, anywhere from 12.50 to 15.00

We stayed at the Motel 6 for $30/night in late February. All you need is the paper from Skyventure. So if its changed, it was after that.

Georgia Tech's Skydiving Club has money in the budget for training and Collegiate competition. It isn't enough to train hard with...my team, and the others since ours, definitely had to spend a lot of our own money. But we've had enough to pay for Collegiates for at least 4 or 5 years. And the amount of money has increased with the success of our teams.

I worked at Macaroni Grill for several years. Before I was old enough to serve tables, working to-go orders was one of my jobs. It varies from restaurant to restaurant but I actually did work to get to-go orders together. I took the order on the phone, sent it to the kitchen, got the food, packaged it up, and then took care of payment, etc. Sometimes you'd have to fight to get your orders from the kitchen because in-house cutomers tended to be more important. I never expected a tip but it was always appreciated when someone gave me an extra dollar or two. And having done that job myself, I usually tip a little when I order take out now.

Some friends and I went to Cancun for spring break our senior year in high school. There were about 5 of us. All but one was 18. We also had two parents that went with us so we had supervision and someone in case something happened. At the same time, though, there were maybe 15 people from my school that went down too. So when we did anything at night, clubs and such, we were all there and hanging out. It made it a lot safer for us to be with guys that we knew well and in a large group. We were good and didn't get into trouble but I don't know why my parents let me go. I don't think I would have. There is a BIG difference between Cancun at spring break and Cancun as a vacation outside of spring break. I had another friend who's family had a condo and loved it there. But they would never go during spring break season.

I love Atlanta and Georgia Tech. Then again I'm a Public Policy grad student so I know nothing about engineering. If you're interested in talking to a Chem-E, send a pm. Lots of stuff to do at night and on the weekends. Plus like others have said there are 4 great DZs within an hour or so of downtown. As a side note, Inviscid lives on (www.inviscid.com). I used to have an XRS with a cypres, PD 113, and both a Stiletto 107 and 97. The 107 was tight though. I think I also had a Jedei 105 in there at one point which was also very tight.

They can't tell. My guess would be they give the competitors the benefit of the doubt that they attempted each formation. So if you omit it on camera, you're in trouble, if you omit it off camera, lucky you.

I would think that would be an omission. If your dive is 12 D E P and you take the D out the door, and you're in frame the whole time, you omitted the top and bottom of the 12 and would get 2 omissions. But if video "loses" you out the door and shows back up on the D, then I suppose it wouldn't be an omission. Other than integrity, there is incentive to have "poor" video.

Air Force Ones flew well and took first. GT Fusion, from Georgia Tech, took second. Viscosity, a pick-up team, took third. There were about 6 points separating the top 3 teams, 8 points separating the top four (GT Airlock, the other Georgia Tech team, finished fourth). The draw was pretty quick. One round was a burner but no new records were set. There were a few collegiate big ways after the competition. Everyone did well and had a good time. I know I did.

I think it would be a bad idea to change the rules to exclude collegiate jumpers who work hard to gain experience and ratings. There are a significant number of jumpers like this. Not only would they lose these attendees (who are also increasing the quality of collegiate jumpers), but these jumpers also put a lot of effort into helping younger collegiate jumpers. Now, they could consider adding advanced categories to some of the events if there were enough people to warrant the additional class.

The competition schedule on Lake Wales' website says the 27th, just like USPA. They'll have the briefing the night of the 27th and competition will start the next morning. As far as flying video, I'd suggest calling Lake Wales and asking. You wouldn't be able to jump at all (video or other) until your event is finished. But after that I'm sure you'd be able to help out on video. The only problem is they don't always complete each event before starting the next one. Plus they'll change things around after competition starts depending on weather and other events so that things can get done as quickly as possible.

2-way competitors can't have more than 125 jumps. They changed this effective for last year's event.

There are a lot of posts here and I haven't read through them all so I don't know if this has already been mentioned, but: A number of people have mentioned how disgusted they are that people voted to ban civil unions and take away those rights, etc in addition to banning gay marriage. Well, not everyone realized that is what they were doing. Take Georgia for example. On our ballot, they "summarized" the amendment. So the ballot said something to the extent of "Should there be a constitutional amendment recognizing marriage as the union between a man and a woman?" That's it. The ballot conveniently left out the part about also banning civil unions and taking away those rights. While I still think the amendment would have passed, I don't think the margin would have been as high if people knew about the portion of the amendment missing from the ballot. This issue went to the courts before the election but was denied because the courts wanted to address it after the election, not before. Why? One theory is that they chose to do that because if they said the state can't use the summarized version before the election, then the state would have time to revise the ballot. If they say it isn't right after the election, it gets thrown out completely.

I can understand how people would be mad about that implication. But when you filled out the registration form for Nationals, they asked the following: ______________________________________ 1. Are you a U.S. Citizen? Yes No If no, check one of the following: Resident Alien Card U.S. INS Card I-551 (must show at registration) I-551 temporary stamp in passport (must show at registration) Guest competitor 2. In the last 3 years have you represented another country at an FAI competition or competed at another country's nationals as other than a guest competitor?: No Yes (Guest competitor) ______________________________________ It made it very clear what the requirements were to be eligible. How do you fill this out and not realize you are supposed to be a guest?

Its unfortunate what happened with Exceed but they absolutely deserved to be disqualified. The rules are stated very clearly in the competition manual. They broke the rules, intentionally or unintentionally, and they should be disciplined accordingly. The rules are there for a reason and they should be followed. Allowing exceptions just opens the door for dishonest behavior.

No, this is not a bust. You are always allowed to touch the other piece during a block inter. You are not, however, allowed to touch your own piece with your free hand (i.e. other than designated grips). So during Stardian, you can touch the guy below you in the other piece, but you can't touch point with you right hand (if you're outside center).

I'll jump until mid-December without completely freezing my butt off. I'm fine until its below 50 F on the ground. But a lot of people jump all winter long and are fine in colder temperatures.
