  2. "You don't support the troops if you don't support their mission." General William Westmoreland once was quoted as saying that is was his fate to have served in the most unpopular war in this country's history, the united states has historically stood by its fighting forces but with one arm outstretched as if they didnt want to get hurt, It's good that you support the troops we appreciate that greatly. but there is a line drawn, you cannot appreciate the people who are specifically there to do the will of thier country and not support the leader of the country's leader, he was elected for us and by us and as such any calls that he makes are justified, he didn't just go to war on a whim, it had to be approved. i'm not trying to say that if you are against the war than you can;t possibley be for the troops, but i am saying don't be a hipocrate, don't say good for you soldier sorry you had to fight for us, we werent drafted, and we don't do this because we were duped, we chose this life, and as such we do what is asked of us Fly it like you stole it

  9. i'm a noob, what is that item? its miltary gear i was just wondering if anyone had come across one of them before and how does it compare to other harness's? would you hook a container up to that separately? do commercial rigs have the container separate from the harness? can someone explain that item to me please, in general ive learned that military gear sometimes shys away from the more conventional aspects and im pretty sure that that item is the militaries take on parachuting aside from the civilian build of such a product Fly it like you stole it

  12. make sure to also drink some memorial beers for her too!
  13. another thing that comes into play with dogs like ours is thier built in genetics for hunting and working, they are hardwired to hunt no joke, they get into whats called prey drive and the way it happens is, through scent or a quick movement, or a noise that interests them, at home i have a tin can with some beans in it and taped on the botom, when ever she gets distracted i make a loud noise with the can and get her to focus and then i reward her shes calmed down alot but you cant take it out completely it in thier genes Fly it like you stole it
  14. oh and another problem with a tick like this is that, mischievous dogs tend to get in themselves in trouble, IE the start drinking from the toilet, or getting on the balcony and barking at stuff, or they get out of the house and then go where they want get hooked on drugs, and then get pregnant and wanna come back home to mom and dad Fly it like you stole it
  15. my dog not my wife Fly it like you stole it
  16. my GSD was a mess when i got to her, i was deploy when my wife got her, so when i got home we had it out and still do but ive taught her kinds of stuff, potty trained her, sit, stay, fetch, speak, rollover, come, heel, laydown, shake, high five, sit pretty, and then i taught her how to open the fridge and get me a beer Fly it like you stole it
  17. if you dont have latches and only round knobs i wouldnt reomend teaching it just yet, as your dog wil prolly scratch the crap out of your walls in the process Fly it like you stole it
  18. its easy to train a dog to do things like that you jsut have to give the canine the right motivation through positive reinforcment, i see from the pic you have a lab? choclate i think? which is a terribly smart dog that was bred for hunting, any ways, what you need to do is associate opening the door with a positive notion, what ever it is your dog enjoys the most usually works the best, a favorite toy, her favorite treat, her favorite game you play, some words of praise and soe pets all suffice well. so, that said, you need to look at what type of door knob you have, in my home I own a German Shepard Dog (GSD) and shes a whip, but in my home the door knobs arent rounds knobs, we have latches, and she get along with those well,if you have a round knob, the best way is to tie something around the knob so she can pull it so that it turns, but if you have latches you just get her to hop up there and open then dor, when she does it Immediately give lots of praise and pets and a treat tell the dog how smart she is, and then do it again, generally those who are serious about training thier dogs spend about 15-30 minutes aday working with thier canine friends, you can get your friend to do just about anything you desire through positive reinforcement, and break bad hanits with negative reinforcement, you just have to balance it out so your dog isnt just going through the motions just to get a treat, they think very logically, me+ door + lick guy on toilet + treat and love makes sense right? 19. well its not only that but people tend to get a little more complacent whne on holiday, statistically there are lot more accidents that happen around days like memorial day when people are traveling and away from home, but they do also say your more likely to injure yourself when closer to home when around thing familiar to you, I'm kinda tiptoeing around on this one, everyones nerves are raw right now after what happened to GFD and all the other fatalities that took place this last weekend Fly it like you stole it
  20. yes do heal, but i would think that just by strengthening your shoulders would do wonders, try working your trapisimus, latisimus, and triceps, also try to hit your surpaspinatus muscles, and perhaps some biceps brachii! Fly it like you stole it
  21. I'd say it has alot to with it being memorial day weekend, not pointing fingers though... alcohol has been known to cause impaired judgement and memorial day and alcohol are close friends Fly it like you stole it
  22. Im in the army so i can pretty much wreck my body and theyll fix me at no charge although i have heard of people getting in quite a bit of touble for injuring themselves, and as far as the medical care goes, i would be truthful or at least state your mechanism of Injury(MOI) as soething that at least resembles that type of injury, as it is any fall from above 15 ft or 3 times your height gets you a cervical collar and a ride to the hospital immobilized on a spineboard, and thats standard protocol everywhere in the states Fly it like you stole it
  23. "Is it wrong to breast feed an avacado tree?" sorry for the loss seems like someone i would have loved to have known Fly it like you stole it
  24. agreed, confronation is difficult but its the very best way, if it happens again cut her loose, somepeople don't want help they are forced to seek help which only makes them worse off Fly it like you stole it
  25. thanks skydemon, you rock, it's pleasant to see people back home supporting us over here, sometimes we feel under appreciated, but thats only cuz people try to kill us, but hey what ever, it's my second time over here, and hopefully my last, heck with 5 years left to go we'll see what happens, but yeah thanks for the support it is appreciated, all my buddy read it and it brings a smile to our faces Fly it like you stole it
