  1. I talked to UPT and they said you can get the slider past the new loops, but it may be tight the first few times. "If it wasn't easy stupid people couldn't do it", Duane. My momma said I could be anything I wanted when I grew up, so I became an a$$hole.
  2. Our dropzone used to order from them. It usually takes over a year to get your suit though. There's one that's at 1 1/2 years and counting. It was almost done back in March I think ,but she said her machine broke. "If it wasn't easy stupid people couldn't do it", Duane. 3. I did the same thing with my 170 Nitron. Brike my right then the left about 40 jumps later, landed them both. should've had the left replaced same time as the right. ooops "If it wasn't easy stupid people couldn't do it", Duane. 4. I thinks the 1.4 or 1.6 has to do with the color of the ring around your LANC port. Blue needs 1.6, red needs 1.4, at least that's what I heard. "If it wasn't easy stupid people couldn't do it", Duane. My momma said I could be anything I wanted when I grew up, so I became an a$$hole.
  5. The cameye sport is for use with a bullet cam that's plugged in to the A/V port, it's supposed to record in play/edit. The cameye 2 is for camera mode. "If it wasn't easy stupid people couldn't do it", Duane. My momma said I could be anything I wanted when I grew up, so I became an a$$hole.
  6. About 100 jumps on a Falcon 300 student main that had about 10,000,000 jumps on it. My first canopy was a 215 Monarch (1.05 W/L), about 75 jumps on that. Nobody on the dropzone at the time had a rig or a canopy that was between the student gear (300 Falcon) and a 170. Then I went to a 170 Nitron(1.44 W/L), got about 400 jumps on it now, it's going to be my second rig for back to back tandem videos. I put about 130 jumps on a 150 Stilleto(1.63 W/L) while I was getting my Nitron fixed. My new canopy is a Comp Cobalt 150 but I don't have it yet. I noticed the big drop from the 300 Falcon to the 215 Monarch wasn't as big a deal as going from the 215 to the 170. I've heard that the smaller you go the more of a difference it makes. There was a huge difference between my 170 Nitron and the 150 Nitro I demo'd and Duane says there is a big difference between his 99 Alpha and his 94 Alpha. 7. Of course if we could get everybody to hit the airport it would be an improvement huh? How about 10 meters across, lined with plastic, 3 foot deep with 1 foot of gravel. We could put fish in it. 8. I think it depends on whether you've been learning to fly the canopy with all the control inputs or not. I have around 400 jumps on my 170 Nitron with about 3 dozen all rear riser landings(2 were lost toggles,1 broken line). I'm very practiced with this canopy so I have no trouble landing with no brakes. But on the demo canopies I've been jumping lately I wouldn't land with no brakes because it's already unfamiliar territory. I might have landed the 188 Pilot I had to jump last weekend though because it's a big giant skyslug that would've given me time to practice with. It also was a borrowed rig that I wouldn't want to pay to have repacked unless neccessary. "If it wasn't easy stupid people couldn't do it", Duane. 9. How about Touch-n-foam (expanding foam) to fill the space between the bracket and helmet. After it dries completely you can shape it with a steak knife and sandpaper, then cover it with JB Weld so it'll look OK. Or you can use Bondo, but it'll be heavier than foam. 10. I have a side mount video so I do an almost regular poised exit. I'm afraid if I hang my arm will block the camera. I go all the way out on the step with my right foot on and left foot trailing. This puts me more or less facing the tandem, at least close enough I can turn my head. Our tandem master insists on doing the stupid ass door dive exit like he was in a turbine, and he doesn't give a steady count. I watch his left shoulder while he's giving the count and leave when I see it come forward. This puts me leaving just a tad late to get the awesome exit picture but it's better than relying on his count and leaving way early. I really like the poised exit that Tod at Skydive Fort Wayne does since they are stable the entire time you can stay with them easy. "If it wasn't easy stupid people couldn't do it", Duane. 11. Pull lower you won't be under canopy then! Just kidding, I set mine for 4,500, 3,000, and 2,000 so I hardly ever hear it under canopy. "If it wasn't easy stupid people couldn't do it", Duane. My momma said I could be anything I wanted when I grew up, so I became an a$$hole.
  12. Yes they are very close. Beezy says the patterns are the same but the Nitro has spanwise reinforcement tape and extra stabilizer reinforcing that the Nitron doesn't have. I just demo'd a 150 Nitro and you can see the reinforcing when under canopy. Definitely has a short recovery arc however. "If it wasn't easy stupid people couldn't do it", Duane. 13. Is there different 206s? I wondered if the U ment anything in particular. We borrowed the 206 from Greensburg a few times, it has the door under the wing like a 182, but the strut seemed a little farther away from the step for some reason. 14. Why can't you just do a poised exit off of the wheel? Sometimes we use a 182 without a jump step and the pilot just holds the brake on the wheel so 2 people can stand on it and a 3rd on the original little step. I guess it's pretty funny if the pilot lets the brake off though. "If it wasn't easy stupid people couldn't do it", Duane. 15. Yes the weather normaly sucks all the time. It's usually good early in the morning and right before dark. I've also noticed that Monday and Tuesday are better than the weekend (I think daylight savings should be 25 hours, not 1). I learned at Skydive Fort Wayne in the northeast corner, I suggest you try to save the money on the days you can't jump and make 3 or 4 when the weather does cooperate. You do better when you're more current anyways. "If it wasn't easy stupid people couldn't do it", Duane. My momma said I could be anything I wanted when I grew up, so I became an a$$hole.
  16. Yeah, I forgot about the canopy falling on you on landing, it's been a while since that happened . "If it wasn't easy stupid people couldn't do it", Duane. My momma said I could be anything I wanted when I grew up, so I became an a$$hole.
  17. Picture you wearing the rig with the canopy on the ground in front of you. Now jump over the canopy so it's on the ground behind you, turn to face the canopy and pick it up. Usually happens with a head over heels landing or picking the canopy up wrong by stepping over a line group in the wrong direction. "If it wasn't easy stupid people couldn't do it", Duane. My momma said I could be anything I wanted when I grew up, so I became an a$$hole.
  18. Is freeflying from 5,000 more wronger than RW from 4,500? "If it wasn't easy stupid people couldn't do it", Duane. My momma said I could be anything I wanted when I grew up, so I became an a$$hole.
  19. YES we do, and it never looses its appeal. "If it wasn't easy stupid people couldn't do it", Duane. My momma said I could be anything I wanted when I grew up, so I became an a$$hole.
  20. We have an ad for the Hoosier lottery, the student jumps without his rig and the instructor throws it out after him(not real). "If it wasn't easy stupid people couldn't do it", Duane. My momma said I could be anything I wanted when I grew up, so I became an a$$hole.
  21. 0:4:0 3 hop-n-pops on a demo canopy and a 2 way RW to get it to terminal. "If it wasn't easy stupid people couldn't do it", Duane. My momma said I could be anything I wanted when I grew up, so I became an a$$hole.
  22. I've hit 2 different fences and almost got hit by a car(should've been a fence to stop me). The landing area is huge with no obstacles except the hangar which did get hit by a student(still on the radio). "If it wasn't easy stupid people couldn't do it", Duane. My momma said I could be anything I wanted when I grew up, so I became an a$$hole.
  23. At one of the places I jump (C-182) we hardly ever go over 5,000'. We go all the way up for 4-way and tandems, but most of us regulars just love to fly our canopies. "If it wasn't easy stupid people couldn't do it", Duane. My momma said I could be anything I wanted when I grew up, so I became an a$$hole.
  24. It is a copy of the "dip your shoulder and dump" Javelin isn't it? Probably just brand loyalty. "If it wasn't easy stupid people couldn't do it", Duane. My momma said I could be anything I wanted when I grew up, so I became an a$$hole.
  25. Can you believe one of the DZs I jump at won't let us take 5 ever, even though they have a widebody. I heard 6 in a straight tail but didn't see it. "If it wasn't easy stupid people couldn't do it", Duane. My momma said I could be anything I wanted when I grew up, so I became an a$$hole.
