  1. my mom always told me that you get more with honey than vinegar - not to say i've never wanted to "get back" at someone - but she's right - its a great way to lay the guilt on someone without coming across as the bad guy - and it makes you feel better cause you're really not doing anything wrong - it just really screws with someones head "life does throw curveballs sometimes but it doesn't mean we shouldn't still swing for the homerun" ~ me
  2. i think that either way, the small bunch in either gender that totally suck ass, give everyone else a bad name - and unfortunately our twisted society tells us to constantly forgive and forget if someone cheats - its in our faces all the time - personally i think thats a bunch of crap- if you're not into it anymore - grow a set - let go and move on -dont cheat "life does throw curveballs sometimes but it doesn't mean we shouldn't still swing for the homerun" ~ me
  3. Is that the one with Mick Foley, aka Cactus Jack as the moderator? It's a cool show. Haven't seen it in a while though... people look at me like i have 8 heads if i ever bring mick up in conversation - no joke the guy wears the same black and red flannel shirt all the time - he's definitely one of the coolest guys i know "life does throw curveballs sometimes but it doesn't mean we shouldn't still swing for the homerun" ~ me
  4. dont ask - just do :) "life does throw curveballs sometimes but it doesn't mean we shouldn't still swing for the homerun" ~ me
  5. dear god thats great! i'm a big hockey fan - sick of all the contract bull but glad to see its coming back basketball definitely does not do it for me either - watching people run back and forth is not exciting- except for the last 2 minutes of the fourth quarter - thats the only time worth watching :) i dunno most sports are better to watch when you're actually there... theyre not bad at home but definitely more exciting in the venue "life does throw curveballs sometimes but it doesn't mean we shouldn't still swing for the homerun" ~ me
  6. music is always a good thing friends are great too anything that you can think of to make you smile is a plus - a good movie - book keep your chin up and if you need to vent just let it out here - thats what we're here for "life does throw curveballs sometimes but it doesn't mean we shouldn't still swing for the homerun" ~ me
  7. when i was six years old i remember watching my grandfather literally rot from the inside out because his lung cancer took over his entire body... he used to smoke about 2 packs a day - i used to tell him to stop smoking all the time... and i vividly remember everything he went through and seeing how upset it made my mom - i promised her and myself that i would never smoke a cigarette - and i never have if you do smoke please stop - if not only just for your health but for saving your family the heartache of watching you become sick and suffer - mr jennings was a great news anchor - and its truly unfortunate that he died at such a young age - may he rest in peace "life does throw curveballs sometimes but it doesn't mean we shouldn't still swing for the homerun" ~ me

    Idiot Sightings

this made me laugh so hard - it reminded me of this girl that was in one of my sign language classes in high school... our teacher was telling us how she studied at gallaudett university in d.c. and how for the first 2 weeks of classes her teacher gave her these headphones to wear and walk around with -all the headphones played was white noise - so that most of the other sounds were filtered out - after the story this girl (who was notorious for asking stupid questions) raised her hand and goes "oh so is that what is sounds like to be deaf?" the rest of the class go super quiet and looked at her in total shock - and i had to put my hands over my mouth and eventually leave the room cause i was laughing so hard - i couldnt believe that someone would ask such a DUMB question "life does throw curveballs sometimes but it doesn't mean we shouldn't still swing for the homerun" ~ me

    Concerts....

i'm ready for the harrassment that follows this statement, but i saw michael jackson -sept 7, 2001 and it kicked ass... it was the one on tv and the jackson 5 were there in addition to about a million other people... the show was amazing... but seriously i've been to 1000's of shows - i work in the indie scene so there are tons of unknowns that are just amazing - especially live but for other great mainstream performers - eminem - he was awesome u2 - much better than i ever expected smashing pumpkins incubus jonny lang - freakin amazing - boy needs to eat but holy crap he can play the hell out of the guitar and his voice is awesome... i guess that'll be a starter - but if anyone wants a list of some other good tunes that arent so mainstream drop me a pm - :) "life does throw curveballs sometimes but it doesn't mean we shouldn't still swing for the homerun" ~ me
  12. this is kind of ridiculous, but does anyone have any suggestions of getting all the stringy things off of corn on the cob when you're cleaning it? "life does throw curveballs sometimes but it doesn't mean we shouldn't still swing for the homerun" ~ me
  13. this one took a little more time to grow on me than the other two did... i do love it now... my current favorite track is "fix you".. that song really hit home and i absolutely love the the ensemble of voices (all of which i believe are martins just overdubbed) at the end of the song.... its amazing... i always fall for the epic songs on the album :) "life does throw curveballs sometimes but it doesn't mean we shouldn't still swing for the homerun" ~ me

  19. people who like to psychoanalyze everything you or someone else does - because they read what it was in a self-help book people who drive with their brights on miserable people in general - hey just because you're having a bad day doesnt mean the rest of us need to suffer with you - go take it somewhere else "life does throw curveballs sometimes but it doesn't mean we shouldn't still swing for the homerun" ~ me
  20. its ok that he's in ICU because at least there he'll be getting the proper care that he needs and make sure that he is more stabilized... i don't know rico or any of you guys really but the power of prayer is amazing.... i will continue to send my prayers your way... best to all of you that are coping with all of this! sgt chris missick

what an awesome monday :) i ended up doing level 1 - nice 1st and 2nd degree sprain i took chris and his two traveling buddies, kyle and ryan, and my other good buddy greg what was really cool was that the golden knights were practicing as well, so awesome to watch we took pictures of everything so hopefully they'll send me some so i can post them up here... the ridiculous smile that was plastered on ALL of their faces was priceless :) more addicts in the making "life does throw curveballs sometimes but it doesn't mean we shouldn't still swing for the homerun" ~ me
  24. i just completed my aff level 1 yesterday -from a personal perspective, i recommend at least one tandem... but really i think after that point it should be how comfortable and confident you feel to do it on your own... if after the first time you think you'll be ok, go for it... if not another tandem will make you more aware of what goes on... either way all i have to say is don't forget to do a FULL flare when you land my purple ankle is what happens when you think you have flared all the way but really you didnt (damn short arms) "life does throw curveballs sometimes but it doesn't mean we shouldn't still swing for the homerun" ~ me
