  1. i am so sorry to hear that you had to witness not only the incident itself but the family witness the incident - i cannot even fathom what you are going through because i have not experienced that myself - i will call myself lucky so far, for whatever reason i missed seeing two bad incidents this summer but i am thankful for that... my thoughts and prayers are with you and the family of the victims - may the ti have a speedy recovery and hopefully that girl will be surrounded by all the love and support that she is going to need "life does throw curveballs sometimes but it doesn't mean we shouldn't still swing for the homerun" ~ me
  2. if i remember correctly (and feel free to correct me if im wrong) i think he had his training that day - he had waited for years to jump and finally decided to go with his brother and i think after his brother finally agreed they went all out in one day? something along those lines "life does throw curveballs sometimes but it doesn't mean we shouldn't still swing for the homerun" ~ me
  3. yeah i just watched it - i didn't quite catch if his reserve actually opened or not? im pretty sure it didnt - but from what i gathered he wasted a lot of time trying to see how high he was? - who knows --but seriously thank God he is ok and those are the worst injuries he has "life does throw curveballs sometimes but it doesn't mean we shouldn't still swing for the homerun" ~ me

    media and jumping

i just received an email from my brothers best friend about the incident in utah, i guess to try and scare me away from continuing my progression - i understand the concern, but it almost annoyed me in the sense that yes i do understand and i am very aware that there is a risk everytime i decide to jump, but its not going to change my mind about it... anyway, i don't know if its just because i am brand new to jumping, and ive started to pay much more attention... but over the past several months has anyone else noticed how much attention the media is pushing on skydiving... i feel like absolutely every incident thats happened recently, has been mapped across every major network and cable news -- the only positive i have seen was the swooping segment on the today show... i dont ever remember hearing anything skydiving related on the news prior to this year, and again im not sure if its because i wasn't involved, but it seems to come up allllllll the time now - why are they now focusing so much on it now, and why is it ALWAYS bad - never any focus on conventions and competitions and how exciting this sport really is- i do understand and appreciate the thoughts and concerns my family and friends have, but i just wish they didn't have to have the bad stuff shoved in their faces all the time.... i dunno sorry for my rant i'm just a little frustrated "life does throw curveballs sometimes but it doesn't mean we shouldn't still swing for the homerun" ~ me
  5. i hope he gets better soon!! i'm recovering from mine from about 2 weeks ago - i've been feeling a million times better so i decided to go swimming today and the water resistence was a little harder than i planned - just tell him to take it easy!! and kick ass that he plays soccer :) its a lot tougher than people give it credit for! 6. i kill just about everyone i reply to - and everyone i've started - sorry to bring this one up again - anyone is welcome to take it "life does throw curveballs sometimes but it doesn't mean we shouldn't still swing for the homerun" ~ me
  7. i know i commented before on how killing them with kindness is the right thing to do, however i have to fess up to a story that i did about 2 years ago... i was living in a house with four other girls and 2 dogs, about 2 years ago - the girl that had the 2 dogs and myself were the only two that lived downstairs - my room was not intended to be a bedroom, and it had a tiny hallway with a bathroom that then connected to the dog girl's room... i did not have a door there but i had a curtain and a dresser to make it as much of a room as i could... there was already tons of tension between me and miss bow wow because she was a SLOB - she bathed the dogs in our shower and left dog hair in there, put dog shit in the toliet bowl - dog hair down the drain (i ended up using the bathroom upstairs after i saw the disgusting crap everywhere) - we ended up having a flea infestation - the poor dogs were never allowed out of their room - i seriously think they were in there about 23 and a half hours out of the day - so needless to say they peed and shit all over her room and the smell would slowly infiltrate into my room - it got so bad that it would wake me up in the morning... one morning it woke me up and i was so pissed because it was the first day i had off in AGES and all i wanted to do was sleep in - well not only did the smell wake me up but i heard her dogs walking behind my dresser - so in a rage i stormed over and put the dogs back in the room - when i was closing the door i looked in the room and there was dog shit EVERYWHERE - and i mean piles - no exaggeration there was probably about 10 piles in the room - seriously i did feel bad for them but not for her - so i took a piece of paper and i picked up a pile and put it all over her unmade bed, walked out of the room and shut the door... wouldn't you know i got an apology from her for her dogs getting out and she thanked me for putting them back in the room - no clue that i put the crap in her bed - "life does throw curveballs sometimes but it doesn't mean we shouldn't still swing for the homerun" ~ me

  12. I see this a chance to spend some quality time with the parents not so much about whether or not to attend church services. Since she has a relationship with them, what's the big deal about spending some quality time with them? Believe me, if they got crushed by a Mack truck tomorrow, would she still be happy about "doing what makes her happy"? I didn't. i'm not saying for her to bail completely on spending time with her family - she doesn't necessarily have to go to church to spend time with them - i'd personally would like to spend the time talking with them i am sorry for your loss though "life does throw curveballs sometimes but it doesn't mean we shouldn't still swing for the homerun" ~ me
  13. honestly i wouldn't stress so much about not making it to church on sundays - this is an ongoing battle i've had with my family in the past there are tons of people that go to church every sunday just because thats what they're "supposed" to do - they tend to be the ones that lie, cheat, steal, or are just assholes to everyone - but come sunday they put the bullshit smile on just to cover their asses - now i am NOT saying this is everyone that attends church but its a lot of them - at least where i'm from just because you don't go to the actual building where church is does not make you a bad person, you are not going to hell do what makes you happy - generally speaking when you're happy, you're more friendly to other people - so JUMP live it up - talk to god on your own time - you don't have to be in a building for him to listen "life does throw curveballs sometimes but it doesn't mean we shouldn't still swing for the homerun" ~ me
  14. thats great!!! congrats!!! and good luck!!! 1)the day is almost over 2)i get to spend time with one of my girls after work 3)i'm gonna drink me some beer this evening 4)its almost tomorrow and i get to see my folks 5)i'm 6 days away from level 2 :) "life does throw curveballs sometimes but it doesn't mean we shouldn't still swing for the homerun" ~ me

  22. can't say my day was that bad but all i have to say is i give any parent on here MAD props for dealing with their kids - don't get me wrong i love children dearly if i didn't i wouldn't be doing my jobs - anyway the two girls that i watch have been freakin HELLIONS today - whining and complaining about everything - fighting nonstop - kicking screaming - i took them to the herr's factory and their pool - then they were like "that was fun, now what" unappreciative brats thank god there are only 2 weeks left of this crap oh and i got a parking ticket in front of my own house - my nextdoor neighbors were robbed last week and used our porch to get in - so instead of sending a cop to check everything out -they sent one to give parking tickets - awesome mmm i freakin love delaware let me tell you aside from that honestly everything is great - just a crappy day - cant wait for tomorrow "life does throw curveballs sometimes but it doesn't mean we shouldn't still swing for the homerun" ~ me

  25. they just did some special on world news or something 2 nights ago about how it always seems to be white middle class attractive girls that get the media attention when they go missing - and i never paid attention to it before but it really is true- it is a shame that she is gone -but it is also a shame that there are so many missing women, men, and children that go unnoticed- maybe this will teach us to look at those "have you seen this person" sheets that come in your mailbox every other day.. as far as natalee's situation i would never be able to live with myself if i was the friend that said "ok see ya later" no WAY - i know it was mentioned before and maybe we're naive to think its common knowledge but dont ever leave ANYone alone especially with people you don't know!! i pray everyday that something happens just so natalee's mom can get some sort of peace of mind - i don't think they will ever find her body its been out to sea for a long time imo... but anything to give her some sort of closure would be nice "life does throw curveballs sometimes but it doesn't mean we shouldn't still swing for the homerun" ~ me
