May be I am wrong but from what I can see there is 2-3 inch difference between the first loop on the bridle and the second loop, which must mean the 1st loop tied the 1 nearest the pins is loaded first then the 2nd tied or PC end is loaded 2nd? or am I way off? surely 2-3 inch is enough difference between loadings on the SL? So you quoted my post, please allow me to clarify In this particular incident an AAD would not have really helped, but my point is LOOK AFTER YOUSELF. I have an AAD on my rig. Do I feel safer because of it? Fuck yes. Do I take more risks because of it I hope not. I am a hell of a lot more scared on a fixed object with no reserve that I am in an aircraft without an AAD. Airbag? I fucked up on a jump and hit power lines, many people suggested suing the DZ and/or the power company, WHAT THE HELL it was my arse in the harness and my hands on on the toggles, so who was to blame? Dead easy ME! don't put your faith in some equipment or other people. Have faith in yourself. I have jumped in Oz, New Zealand, Russian, Spain and over half the DZ's in the UK (never made it to the US) Yes the UK is painfully slow in getting lifts in the air compared to anywhere else I have jumped. I don't think this has anything to do with flight line checks,but more to do with people not getting their sh*t together, ie. if you are a sausage grabber dirt dive before the lift is called not on the way to the plane, turn on your AAD and do your own gear check before you manifest, then get your ass to the FLC area before the the boarding call so you can meet the plane, have the lift waiting for the plane not the other way around and while you are all waiting for the plane to land sort out you exit order. One other problem I have found jumping in the UK a large amount of jumper prefer to talk a good skydive than to actually make one, the UK scene in my opinion is social first jumping second. I am not saying this is a bad thing it is just the way I see it compared to other countries. Yes I live in the UK and I am pi*@ed off I can not make 10 jumps a day without a lot of hard work and hanging about waiting for others to sort themselves out. rant over flame away but then sort yourself out so we can jump more. I downloaded Slim A BASE Life from SD movies. At 04:36ish there is footage from the Moscow Tower 30 way, It is looking through glass (I presume an observation deck) anyway in the right third of the screen you see a light blue/yellow canopy inflate then lose pressure on the right side. I am not sure if this was a lineover or if it was caused by the black canopy. I have slowed it down but the quality is not that great and then it cuts to the Petrona Towers. anyone know what happened? I am wondering can the canopy inflate fully (like in the video) with a lineover then distort or would it open like a bag of crap from the start? Hi I am on tour and visiting Eastbourne next week 5-11th March I have not BASE jumped but have 700ish skydives and plan to do a fjc in mid June early July. I have spent months reading and learning about base and talked to several NW jumpers I know. Because on my job I spend very little time at home so going out as ground crew is not possible at the moment. I know you have a legal object in the area and I was wondering if anyone is jumping during my time in Eastbourne could I tag along and watch you jump? I have a video camera and can film and will of course give you all the footage. I understand you don't know me from Adam so if you want to check me out before hand I can meet for a beer, maybe in the Cavalier near the Congress Theatre? Beer is on me.
