Thanks... I just tried it and also had no problem. Whatever it was it was temporary. ... Marion

I tried to log into www.trackingderby.com and could not get in. Is anyone aware of a problem with the web site? I am hoping it hasn't gone away like Skydiving Movies did. ... Marion

SkyFest June 15th -21st Celebrating 10 years!
fmmobley replied to upndownshop's topic in Events & Places to Jump
You need to tell us what these mysterious AC are. "You won't be disappointed" doesn't motivate me, as I was kind of disappointed last year. ... Marion -
Just watched the video... amazing. ... Marion

Why Do You Skydive? (Psychology)
fmmobley replied to DHolland's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
ouch... that was harsh ... Marion -
I stand corrected, when we last spoke about a week ago (on the phone) you had said you were talking with Chris. Since then Chris and I communicated and he sounded very doubtful about coming, but maybe he will change his mind. In the past two Skyfest boogies there have been a lot of wingsuits. I am not seeing much interest shown in this forum for some reason. ... Marion

"There is no such thing as a perfectly good uterus" (I saw this on a shirt given to as a gift to a baby.) ... Marion

I have the Garmin Forerunner 305 and I agree with you that the elevation calculation is probably not as accurate as the other numbers. You can get GPS devices that have barometric altimeters built in which would be more accurate. Having said that, when I take my GPS for a wingsuit jump the altitude reading is very close to perfect. ... Marion

I believe it records your exact position on the earth, including altitude. It records those positions every second or whatever, and then can take that data and calculate speed in any direction from that information. The collection of these data points is the "track". ... Marion

I asked if they had any organizers lined up and as of right now they do not. In years past they had the Brothers Gray organizing, but they will not be there. I am also not seeing much talk about it on this forum. ... Marion

I haven't heard much talk about wingsuits at this boogie. Any wingsuit pilots planning to attend? Organizers? It is June 15-21 at The Farm (near Atlanta, Ga). ... Marion

So is this the same as a Wingsuit Instructor? What are the qualifications, how can someone get this rating? I don't see any of that info on the Phoenix Fly web page. ... Marion

Thanks for the vote of confidence, Andy... however, I still have tons to learn and was hoping to see The Brothers Gray, Chuck Blue, or someone of that caliber there. ... Marion -

Will anyone be organizing for wingsuits? ... Marion -
Very cool... What kind of fall rate did they have when they docked? Also, what size canopy was Tagle using? ... Marion

Very nice video.... makes me wish I could have been there ! ... Marion

You can borrow mine anytime Don I love my Pilot 168. Have about 400 jumps on it. My next canopy will be a Pilot if that says anything. ... Marion

My lack of response has been because I think it is a silly idea. We don't need more organizations, especially ones created as a result of a rift in our community. ... Marion

What does that mean? Who/what are the USPA tar babies? ... Marion

That spin seemed really violent. Do you have the impression that if it had gone on much longer you would have been at risk of passing out? Could that be what happened to Pete? Also, it never occurred to me that the wing material could be covering either of your handles... good to know. Good job on saving yourself and thanks for sharing the information. ... Marion

Pete Luter (D-763) Another Great One
fmmobley replied to hparrish's topic in Blue Skies - In Memory Of
I would run into Pete at wingsuit events from time to time. He was a true southern gentleman. Friendly, with great stories, and quick to help if you needed something. I am very sorry he is gone. ... Marion -
Do you know when it will be? Friday? What time? ... Marion

I would love to meet Jay. I got to meet Bill Booth at the Skyfest Boogie last year and got him to sign my log book. That was pretty cool. ... Marion
