  1. I have seen cards or sheets of paper with diagrams for relative work. I think they are downloaded from the computer. Any idea where I can get some? Thanks
  2. Now I ask you, who are the dumb ones. The people who sue or the juries? I vote the latter. Next time it rains on the weekend, I'm suing the weatherman for infringing on my right to the pursuit of happieness. $2mil. oughtta make up for it.
  3. The biggest risk is placental abruption. Due to the malpractice atmosphere no doc would give you the green light PERIOD. The risk would be miniscule untill the start of the second trimester (12 wks.) Prblem is A) Most people don't find out untill close to then, stopping midway through training for 9 mo. would start you over so why start. B) The risk of miscarriage is 30% in the first trimester. If your friend miscarried would she blame herself for jumping whether it was true or not. Not big risk but I don't think the benefit outways any risk because of the above.
  4. With my luck I'd cut away and they'd get entangled igniting my reserve!
  5. Well technically I'm an E.R. Doc but I think it's more acurate to say I'm a professional work excuse distributor. I like it O.K. but if I could have any job, it would be independent wealth.
  6. I can fall asleep at the drop of a hat. Unfortunately I'm working all night and the waiting room is full (as usuall)
  7. Sorry to hear. Hope things look up. Let us know what kind when you find out. Glad you have so much family to help all through this.

    point breek

Yeah, Whuffos have no idea. When someone asks how many jumps I've got they say "Man that's a bunch are you an instructor?" That's when I have to keep my male ego in check and say "Hell yeah, wanna go for a ride?" no seriously I hang my head and tell 'em no it takes a few more, about a thousand in fact; to be an instructor, my 21 don't quite cut it.
  9. Nice bike dude! The CBR series are some of the most comfortable bike I've ridden.
  10. I hate the job/hobby conflict, but without food, life sucks real quick! Luckily I work nights. When I hafta work weekends, I still jump, I just don't sleep. Now how's that for safe!
  11. Very true and that would be great. As for me personally, with my crazy work schedule it would be hard to have a relationship where we spent vast amounts of time on seperate things. Part of this might come from the fact that I spent 14 yrs. giving up doing the things I wanted to spend time with my wife and at the end of it all she found someone else anyway. So there may be some "F@$# it I'm not doing that again" attitude coming out, which may mellow over time. As for now, I can't see myself walking away from this sport for anyone.
  12. True, and if that happens, I'll quit immediately. Seriously though, I'd rather die doing what I love than live a pityful experience being safe but afraid to experience life's extreme side, but that's just what makes me tick. It dictates what I do from job to hobby!
  13. The big problem I see is that I am at the DZ EVERY weekend that's not pouring, so unless your S.O. enjoyed coming, hanging out watching you pack, climb into an airplane, and land over and over all day, I don't see how anything could ever get stared.
  14. I ride a CBR600. It's easy to go that fast on those bike. Unlike most cars as they get faster they get more stable, so it is easy to kid yourself that you are ok that fast. The FEW times I've broken 120 I was on a stretch where my field of vision could ensure: A) No cops would surprise me. B) No animals would surprise me. C) I would encounter no cars. D) I could see approaching curves from a LONG way away since at 130ish mph you cover ground FAST! Even at that I recognized that there could be things that could get me squirrley and if so see 'ya. I've only done it a couple of times to see what it was like accepting the possible consequnces and made it as safe as a could. Been there, done that, and now don't break 90. I love the bike and it may bite me some day, but I saw a quote I love "He who is not afraid to lose his life is ironically free to live it." I try not to be stupid, but I don't let calculated risk keep me from experiencing life. On a lighter side, getting the bike made people shut up about how crazy I am to skydive. One gal at the DZ siad "You're an ER Doc. and you ride a motorcycle?"

    MRI?

MRI is the initiall test of choice for you. Nothing is 100% but this is by far the best imaging for your shoulder. Any x-ray is a waste of time and money. If you must have surgery make sure that the Orthopod does a good number of shoulders as this surgery has a very good success rate but is very dependent on operator skill. Hope all is well and PT is almost always a good idea before surgery. Good luck!
  16. I only have one photo of you from your younger days, but I think it captures you so well. http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.bbc.co.uk/northamptonshire/stage/2004/images/taboo_boy_george_203.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.bbc.co.uk/northamptonshire/stage/2004/preview.shtml&h=153&w=203&sz=7&tbnid=I3SH7c-WVmsJ:&tbnh=74&tbnw=98&start=4&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dboy%2Bgeorge%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D
  17. Yeah, I guess I'm a little spoiled when I don't think of it as any big deal because I've never jumped out of any other plane. As far as it being too slow, I think we've finally found a solution. For the boogie we're installing RATO bottles. Should be able to get to 14,500 in just under a minute! Seriously, excellent weekend planned. It should really be great fun. Also Sunday and Monday I think he'll be offering Halo Jumps from 30,000 (for a measley $350 ). E-mail or pm me anyone who's coming so I'm sure to meet you and don't have to like wear my pink tutu to get recognized (I get hit on waaay to much in that thing!)
  18. Glad to hear. Remember rule #1 Relax and have fun!
  19. You suck man! I gotta give Uncle Sam a check for 22k for what withholding didn't cover this year. I ought to just drive a car to the local IRS place walk in give 'em the keys and say "Here 'ya go, next time use KY!"
  20. Just wondering how many people here are from this area. I jump at West Tn skydiving and there is a memporial day boogie and swoop contest. It would be great to meet some people from the site if anyone might be coming.
  21. First time front float was awsome. Thought it was incredible untill I tried rear float compressed accordian. I think I might just like this sport! Keep jumping, it gets more addictive each day.
