It's been 20-30 at night the last month and not over 60 during the day. This is a welcome relief, as brief as it might be. Skydiving gave me a reason to live I'm not afraid of what I'll miss when I die...I'm afraid of what I'll miss as I live

I wish we could keep the tourist away. But since there is no fences around Calif. what are we to do. Hey, you got a job for me in Colo? I used to live there back in the ...60's I was real young then. I'm also looking for a place to buy that won't cost me half a million to buy. Skydiving gave me a reason to live I'm not afraid of what I'll miss when I die...I'm afraid of what I'll miss as I live

Hey, we pay a very high price to live where the sun likes to surprise us once in a while during winter. Don't get your panties in a bunch. Skydiving gave me a reason to live I'm not afraid of what I'll miss when I die...I'm afraid of what I'll miss as I live

How to prepare for a winter jump?
hottamaly replied to grue's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I've had good luck with using latex gloves (like surgeons use) under my regular gloves. You might get a little sweaty if you produce allot of heat, though. Also, if there isn't allot of canopy traffic around you, don't keep your arms and hands up on the toggles all the time. Let them fall to your side to keep the blood in them. QuoteI'm going to say this with the expectation of getting flamed, but I REALLY don't intend to piss anyone off and my observations may be completely incorrect. a couple hundred jumps how would you know? . . I even found myself this weekend telling a guy with 100 jumps weighing about 170lbs that he could jump my 135 Nitro if he wanted. And I believe if he jumped it a couple of times he'd be OK. I'm not trying to flame here, buy you sound like you are doing (suggesting) just what you are saying is wrong. A person with just 100 jumps and you are saying he'd be fine loading up a canopy past 1:1. There is where some of these problems start, with a "buddy" suggesting something someone isn't ready to do (or doesn't know if he's ready or not). It's with buddys, that can suggest the safer route, that will help. IMHO Skydiving gave me a reason to live I'm not afraid of what I'll miss when I die...I'm afraid of what I'll miss as I live

I was there and if I remember right, he chopped it. I've been known for a poor memory though, I would chop it. I don't think I have enough strength to do a rear riser flare. Skydiving gave me a reason to live I'm not afraid of what I'll miss when I die...I'm afraid of what I'll miss as I live

Flat packing a Triathlon
hottamaly replied to bluewaterstream's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I know it was packing error on my part but boy those two spanked me all the time. And I'm pretty cautious about not dumping in a track. After I did it "their" way, it was wonderful. Flat packing a Triathlon
hottamaly replied to bluewaterstream's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I've owned two Tri's in my skydiving time and both were very pack sensitive. I was having no luck at all with my usual pro pack or flat pack. It was slamming me so hard I could barely breath. I finally got a video tape that shows how to properly pro pack the Tri and after following that, I have real nice soft openings. None of the hurtfull ones hurt the canopy, just me. Good luck if you decide to do it. Skydiving gave me a reason to live I'm not afraid of what I'll miss when I die...I'm afraid of what I'll miss as I live -

I told someone in a PM that you should plan on being muddy by the end of the day and get real good on your accuracy Like I said, it looks like Lake Elsinore or Perris has moved in in our back yard. Bring your water gear Reports say it should be sunny though. But more rain is in store for tomorrow....so "they" say. There was no cussing when I was growing up in our house and one night in my teenage days, I was talking about something that made me mad and I used the words "pisses me off" and I thought my dad was going to chop my head off. Now I cuss like a truck driver...too many years working around mainly men Skydiving gave me a reason to live I'm not afraid of what I'll miss when I die...I'm afraid of what I'll miss as I live

I saw one land in a boat at Blue River boogie 2 years ago. I was in a boat right next to the one he landed in. Skydiving gave me a reason to live I'm not afraid of what I'll miss when I die...I'm afraid of what I'll miss as I live -

It's been pouring all night and day long so far. I am working across the street from Perris Valley Skydiving and we are all under water. Perris looks like Lake Elsinore right now and we'll be lucky to get through the river (was the street) to get home. Anyone local with a boat I can borrow? I broke all 4 corners of my ankle and dislocated it from my foot. I had a plate with 5 screws in fib (1 inch of bone broken and replaced with graph from tib) along with 2 huge screws in front of ankle and pin in tib. I had them all removed 1 1/2 year later and have had no problems since. I am not a doctor and this was my own personal choice, but it might help to talk to a skydiving athletic surgeon for your own piece of mind. My surgeon said I would never jump again but he is a whofo. I've made 1500 jumps since. I have to make a special BIG THANK YOU to all the hard work, sweat and tears the Swovlins went through to make this event one to remember. I think as we all get older, we start to really appreciate each other as friends as well as the true pioneers these people really are. Kudos to one and all that made this happen. I'm going to be there with bells on. I've only missed 1 reunion in the 12 years it's been going. It should be beautiful after this rain. Skydiving gave me a reason to live I'm not afraid of what I'll miss when I die...I'm afraid of what I'll miss as I live
