  1. question...do you know if the photographer may have kept the negatives (or anything else that might prove that they actually were the photographer that took the photo)?
  2. I agree. BC2 is not in the same league as MW and at times find BC2 a bit frustrating and or lacking in comparison. At times I think the friendly AI is substandard as your men won't advance while you provide suppressing fire and or run around in front of you while you are engaging the enemy. Actually - I hadn't even played single-player yet, only multiplayer - and just the interface, knowing what to look for, etc, is going to take me a bit of time.
  3. Just got BF:BC2 - after months of Modern Warfare it's going to take some adjusting (especially since it's also quite a bit different from BC1). I liked the sense of humor of the first one - in my limited time with it, it seems they took a lot of that out.
  4. I disagree - I don't think the laws that apply to all and could set limits on rights should be made based on emotion, especially on the emotion of a single person. I am not saying I am saying the magazine should/should not have access to the photos. I am simply saying the courts should not decide based on the criteria you say is very 'simple'.
  5. Left foot braking has some uses on the race track. But it should not be used on public roads. But Chicago expressways ARE race tracks AND public roads. I think "parking lot" is a more accurate description.
  6. We test drove an LR3, and it was very nice - I personally like the Land Rovers, but it wasn't right for us right now. My dad had a 1997 Discovery that he took immaculate care of and while it lasted a good amount of miles, there were TONS of issues with it very early on in terms of electrical, transmission, etc. For the price we could afford to pay, we'd be getting a used one with a fair amount of miles, and my experience seeing my dad's combined with the generally negative reliability reviews steered us away from it.
  7. Not really - we looked at it a bit, and my fiancee didn't really like it so it was out rather early in the process.
  8. Agreed. While it has been a very sad time (though thankfully, all of my loved ones down there are fine and no one had a home collapse or anything like that), Chile is 'used' to earthquakes and building are built to withstand earthquakes. That said, my aunt who is an architect down there was telling my mom that even if building are designed to handle quakes, the reason the devastation is so great in Concepcion is that a quake of this magnitude is beyond any building code requirements or protection. I've been monitoring the news quite a bit since then and though the people of Haiti need the aid far more than Chile does, it has been touching to see the gestures and prayers for the Chileans affected by the quake - especially those from the other South American people.
  9. patent attorney. pictures of paperwork are not that exciting, so i am not posting anything.
  10. Hi everyone, I meant to reply to this before, but thanks for the input. We ended up going with a used 2007 Nissan Pathfinder - and I love it! We also got the dealer to throw in a free DVD player (my fiancee hauls kids around a lot). We got 4 wheel drive - several Chicago winters of having a 2wd Trailblazer made that an easy decision. To answer some of the questions - the 3rd row is to principally haul kids around or adults + kids (but rarely would adults sit in the rear row) so a huge car wasn't really necessary. We liked the Armada a lot but in the city the Pathfinder makes a lot more sense (in terms of size and also for mileage). As far as Hondas/Acuras - I know they are really great cars as far as reliability, but neither one of us liked the design of the SUVs...which was too bad..I have a soft spot for the Civic and wished the SUVs were as simply elegant as the Civic. Anyway, I'm thrilled with the car! Thanks!
  11. aderall (sp?)... helps with the ADD and I think it is supposed to help make you horny...
  12. I have the original iPhone and while I love the phone for its capabilities, AT&T sucks in Chicago, so I am waiting for the contract to expire so I can jump ship.
  13. In the past what I've done with friends (when we had to get out of the lease early) is to talk to the landlord and say "if I can find people to sign a new lease, will you let me out of my current one"? Most of the time, they'll let you do that because they know it's easier to just have someone occupy it for a new lease than to deal with you. Just my suggestion. I agree with the others that are saying that getting lawyers involve will likely be more expensive than to just take care of it on your own.
  14. I don't know anything about real life guns, but that one is in Modern Warfare 2, and the fire rate really makes it kick all kinds of ass in the game.
  15. Hi all, So my fiancee and I are in the market for a new-to-us car. Due to necessities of daily use, the car is probably going to be an SUV and absolutely MUST have 3rd row seating. We have a budget of 30k. So far, we've looked at a bunch of Nissan Armadas, which seem to be the leading contender, Jeep Commanders (she really liked the loaded one we saw, less miles and cheaper), a Land Rover LR3 (likely won't go this route -- too many bad things said about the Land Rover reliability). I want us to see the Audi Q7 as well, and we've looked at the Mercedes R class, but finding those within the price range is difficult. We don't like the Honda or Acura SUVs, and haven't really looked at Ford or GM yet but probably should just to see what they're like. I've been trying to look for cars that are 2006 or newer, having less than 50k miles as a starting point. Any recommendations or specific things to look out for? Thanks!
  16. In college I called that "Friday night".
  17. Personally, I loved the Letterman-Oprah-Leno commercial. I would love to hear the story as to how that commercial came about and what happened to get Leno to go for it.
  18. Personally, I think that while the xbox system (hardware) may not be anything special compared to the competition, xbox live is fantastic, and a sign of how far ahead of their competitors they are on the online console gaming space.

    OOOPPPPPS

That'd make a great ad for Toyota: "So fuel efficient that you forget how to pump gas"
  20. I think this is the key point... I think Seinfeld offered some tepid support for Leno very early on, but other than that, it seems like there is overwhelming support from Conan (or simply anti-Leno) by their peers.
  21. Does anyone play Madden 2010 on PS3? I play MW2 on Xbox.
  22. I asked because I had the same problem with GTA IV (until the unit just gave me RRoD and I just got a new one). The idea to load the games into the hard drive is a good one.
