damn!!! that´s the news i´ve been waiting for... is this true? 4.6 megapixels gives you a pretty good pic, good enough for tandem stills, that is... has anyone more info´s about this feature? is it availiable a) only when recording in HD and b) only on the HC7E? or also on the 3 and 5 series?

Hi, made my TI during new year in Portugal

1) @ jump 200-something: i was for one day on a DZ and had left my gear at home. went partying and drinking the night before. some guys decided to make a high altitude oxygen jump (22000ft), and i couldn´t miss the opportunity, so now we have: unknown DZ, borrowed gear, alcohol, lack of sleep, high altituden & oxygen (doesen´t mix well with alcoho, btw...). on the (loooong) climb i was really feeling physically bad and was really worrying about the problems of oxy with alcohol...i had signed and read the waiver, but decided to jump and had a really nice 2+1cam jump. oh yes, i forgot: no audible, no alti. damn. what a mess! 2) 180 front riser turn below 300ft, because of an unexpected canopy in my flight pattern. no plan B. broke L-5/L-6 (yes i have 6...) 3) floating up at pull time while filming a tandem to get a nice shot of the deploying canopy... from above . too damn close. 4) all the big (=more than 3) freefly formation jumps i did, with bad freefly skills.

funny, the finger-ring-thing mount camed originally with the viso. first i wanted to order it seperately but it seems that l&b has reacted to all the critics (on DZ.com?) and has added the finger mount to the package. now it comes with (crappy) wrist mount AND finger mount. nice. the protector is still sold separetely, though. why didn´t you like the protector? readability?

hm, do you have a better solution?

oh, forgot to mention the additional secure-strap i made after loosing a sidewinder helmet + pc100 + pro-track + optima... won´t happen again. the strap is also connected to the cut-away system.

okay, finally my personalised Rawa, with Case for PC-1000, Newton Cross Sight, Cam-Eye, and a Cut-Away System i took from an old Bonehead Optik Illusion. The fit is perfect, for me it is now the perfect helmet. After the summer i´ll add a Canon 350D on top with Bite Switch.

hunting license??? damn, saw this too late. so that means you´re allowed to carry guns? ...well, 4560g, isn´t it cute???

I put 2 jumps on a Mamba 132 loaded at 1.8:1. The openings were great, soft but not too soft, on-heading, no spinning in whatever direction at all. i did have some trouble getting the slider down over the steering toggles (risers too large or slider holes too small). i was a little disappointed at how the canopy behaved in toggle turns. compared to other canopies i´ve jumped, the turns with the mamba are very docile and smooth at the beginning. i´m somehow used to twitchy, nervous response to toggle input. harness turns work fine, front riser pressure is just fine for me, although it could be a little less. on the first jump i made a 90° toggle turn and landed with the wind (the first jumper misread the windsock , i had to follow...). the flare is nice and looooong and fast. all in all a nice canopy with good openings and fun to land and swoop (probably...).

at the moment, that´s the best i can do, but if you want a high-res for the dektop, next weekend i´ll ask the guy who took the pic.

sounds fair to me... what lens would you recommend?
