yeah those feet must really pong...i just re read your post and get whata you mean now...derrr...we in the UK live in free rescue cost society so when someone says they ar happy to pay (and i dont get the full gist of their message) i shot first and asked questions later... http://www.extreme-on-demand.com

put it in the tub with cold fesh water....soak for several hours then drain and replace...soak for several hours then drain and replace....do this until your paranoia stops then dry it in the shade/wind or better still at night...kiting is a good idea...dont forget everything else that got wet will need the same treatment.... depending on how wet they got and how long they were dry and flexing you may want to think aabout replacing your risers for peace of mind IMHO http://www.extreme-on-demand.com

had the guy been out hiking and twisted his ankle or badly burned on his cooking stove im sure nothing would have been said...does the government ask you to pay up if you play rugby and dislocate your shoulder i dont think so... its a fact of life that what we do isnt normal to a large percentage of the population...it frightens them... so they will try and defend themselves against it with ways of making it harder to do...like cost recovery for rescues. http://www.extreme-on-demand.com

thats why i put a question mark at the end of the sentence... http://www.extreme-on-demand.com

Maybe a simple aid would be to raise the bar for skydive minimums to 500 with 100 crw or accuracy jumps in that 500 (signed off by someone)...surely courses arent that big a part of the manufacturers business that it would financially hurt them to do this? It would keep a lot of the people waiting long lead times for rigs happier too because the builders could do some building instead of back and forth to potato land? Surely it would also make people think twice about it if they have a more stringent entry criteria, the cash rich and lazy amongst them (which is quite a lot) would lose interest before they could achieve it. However the back door entrants (oooooer shouldnt have said that) will always get into the sport but maybe it should be made harder to buy gear...the referral system used to be in place so whats happened to it now...in the not too distant past you would be checked up on if you were trained on the mentor student route in your home country before you could get gear (new or second hand)...that seems to have stopped... Do i think any of this will stop people getting killed or maimed..not sure but i think i would help..A LOT. http://www.extreme-on-demand.com

i would ask him who taught him before you do anything...i would then ask him where he buys his gear then maybe ontact the manufacturer of said gear and see what they say about him...ask him how many objects he has jumped, slider up/down experience...all that jazz....i aint an instructor but i sure as hell would show a potential student any scars/zips/mangled body parts i had just to ram home how bad it can get...at the bottom line i would say if you aint happy then dont do it...also why not speak to Tom A about his course or one of the manufacturers about a course...at least you will be sure of who youre getting... http://www.extreme-on-demand.com

I think there is an unwritten rule between most jumpers thatyou shoot it you own it..if you are a videographer for a job then most if ot all jumpers will have no problem with signing a model release as its part of your livelihood.... http://www.extreme-on-demand.com

you are more likely to over delay with a 46 due to PC inflation time on that height...the canopy isnt that big that you need a 46 to drag it out and based on my limited experience including jumps from240 225 215 and 200 with both sizes the 42" is the better option. CR did some comparison test years ago between the two sizes for smaller 190-240 size Mojos and i believe they found no problem with the 42ZP at lower altitudes. Maybe Adam can chime in here or tom for that matter.. http://www.extreme-on-demand.com

depending on your canopy and pc selection shallow brakes is not ideal for this kind of jump...if you go shallow brakes you are likely to have an unflyable canopy for most of the descent due to poor pressurisation..ask Mac about TCs jump from the house .i would get your battle gear on, get the bubble wrap down your trousers and if you are jumping a 240 use a ZP 42" with a half to 1 second delay...this will give you around 6 seconds of usable canopy time...definitely go with deep brakes.either that or get a short line PCA...just my two cents... http://www.extreme-on-demand.com

There are also later contributions by a USian or three or more, but the bulk of the work seems to have been done by persons with funny accents. rl didnt think Faber could speak English or write it for that matter http://www.extreme-on-demand.com
