I have the exact same problem. I've had it for years. I can be completely exhausted, but when I get into bed, my mind starts racing a mile a minute with all kinds of thoughts, and I lay there for hours before I fall asleep. Unfortunately, I have not found anything that works consistently for me. I tried the herbal sleep aids, didn't work. I tried a rx, didn't work. Tried the warm milk, too. The thing I do when I know I'm tired is I turn the tv on. Usually if I concentrate on listening to that, my mind won't start running thru the thought train and I'll fall asleep. It doesn't always work, but sometimes. I also go in the hot tub right before bed, that works sometimes, too. The funny thing for me is, when I am on vacation, I sleep like a baby. I don't think about a damn thing, I just go off to sleepyland. Thats one of the reasons vacations are so important to me! Good luck, I hope you find something that works for you.

I'm hoping the weather is gonna be decent tomorrow and I'd like to get in a few jumps. Anybody going who can give me a ride? I'm downtown. PM me if you can help me out. Thanks!

Wow, I'm sorry your "new" rig isn't working out for you! I also purchased a PD 9-Cell (190). I haven't flown it yet. I have been a little nervous about it because my student rig is a ZP canopy. Yeah, the SDC weather sucked all weekend. But i found other fun things to do. I was hammered saturday night and i should apologize for all the DDs i made. Ya, it sucked!! Freezing and cloudy. Amtrak. I'll never forget it. We're in the seats across from these 2 old men. We have a blanket over us. My husband (boyfriend then) starts touching me. Then I discreetly slip down under the blanket that is over us. I'm down there for a bit. When I came up, I remember the old man smiled at me. Then we both got up and went to the bathroom. Yep, I agree. Under normal circumstances, the pilot would've never brought the plane back. Maybe the producers did make a special request so as to keep the game competitive. Or maybe he was just a fan of AR!

Sometimes I wish I was at the dz every weekend. Then I'd be jumping like crazy, meeting more people, and learning more stuff! But I do enjoy many other things in my life, so I do not want to get too obsessed with just skydiving. When I'm not at the dz on the weekend I am.... movies/dinner out with my husband, at the park with my dogs, doing house stuff, doing my homework, on vacation somewhere, riding my bike, on my pc, catching up on Tivo recordings, or catching up on my sleep!! I know why the second I get out the door. And it's reaffirmed when my feet hit the ground. Everybody goes thru those feelings. For me, the benefits far outweigh the pre-jump anxiety. Try to relax and have fun.
