  6. I will be going on my honeymoon in July – the plan is a few days in Paris, a few days in Barcelona, a few days on the coast, and a few days in Amsterdam (flying into and out of here). I’ve got pretty much everything figured out except for the beach in Spain. We were thinking about getting a few nights in the Hotel Port Salins which coincidently looks close to Skydive Empuriabrava which works out great because we would both like to make some skydives (err 1 tandem for her). However I don’t want to base this leg of the vacation on easy access to the dropzone – rather I am looking for access to a good beach, luxuries, and relaxing. Is this are good for the beach? Are there other better areas? If anyone has any other advice as far as Paris or Barcelona id love to hear it. Thanks neilp
  7. Well as bigway has expressed opinion can only be speculation at this point; however I’m glad this was posted as I was not aware of such a creature. I personally like having an analogous dial to help gage altitude and have such not spent much money on any digital altimeters, but this device could change that. Funny though the feature that stands out the most to me is the “ergonomic fit” this is something I would like to try out. One thing I can think of that could be added onto this altimeter with its digital technology is an under canopy altitude siren – you know like 500’, 250’ 100’ kind of like what I understand the Neptune has. neilp
  8. I am un-current as hell, have a broken wrist (non skydiving related), and was scheduled to be on a European honeymoon during skyfest. However hopefully my wrist will be back up in 3-4 weeks, my rig is washed and awaiting a repack and I have convinced my wife that it really is in our best interest to push the honeymoon up a week so that we will be home for skyfest. Yup ill be there. neilp
  9. Thanks for the advice everyone. I have the instructions here that came with the handle from Sun Path, and also my old handle so I have some guidance as far as the length. I was just unsure about the actual cutting tool. I could have taken it to my rigger and he would have gladly hooked me up – however I like taking care of my rig and wouldn’t mind rigging myself someday. I’ve got it all installed, it looks good, few practice cut-aways and I am happy with the work. Ill have my rigger look over it tomorrow just as a precaution. Thanks again.
  10. Great – thanks for the advice. Since tomorrow is definitely a weather day Ill be hitting up the bike shop. neilp
  11. I have a new handle to install and am unsure what to cut the cable with? Thanks neilp
  12. Yeah HALO big way with all of my friends - break off at 12 grand open at 10 and fly for a while reflecting on all of it - probably land in the pond just for fun. neilp
  13. Not that it’s a huge deal as I agree with just about everything you have said, but I believe I’ve been paying 20 a jump at skydive Houston since I’ve been visiting out there over the last few months. neilp
  14. I read the electric cool aid acid test when I was younger and loved it. And though I never read the right stuff I loved the movie
  15. No. It is directed by a guy named Eli Roth. Tarantino is just the producer or presenter or somethign like that.

  19. Can a cut away cable move through the riser retaining loop upon opening? Also sometimes (actually quite often) one of my cables comes out of the hard housing after opening, no big deal I though and I just pop it back in, after checking my airspace, and proceed with the skydive. The reason I ask about the cable moving through the loop is that last weekend the cable came out of the hard housing – however unlike any other time there was only about two inches of cable above the retaining loop, where as in any other “incident” it was actually pulled taught with 5-6 inches exposed. I had cleaned my cutaway cables the night before this skydive and wonder if I had inadvertently not housed the cable completely. As far as the cable popping out of the hard housing I will have my rigger take a look at it but I would imagine I need to get a new set of cables and have them cut a little longer? Would that be correct? Thanks for any insight.
  20. I’m marrying the daughter of a 30 year Continental employee – does that get me in? Oh I’ve also applied for like thirteen hundred fifty two jobs at Continental so fuck I kind of almost work there. Hope it works out well for the club and the company. If I can be any part let me know. neilp
  21. My fiancé and I will be dancing to this song at our wedding reception in March. However Johnny Cash will be singing it. I don’t think I will choke up but the song (both the Beatles and Cash and whomever wants to sing it to us) is very special to us. neilp
  22. Sweet - I'm in Gulf Shores - hopefully something will work out for Friday. It looks like were going to head back to Houston Saturday morning. Is there only a plane out on the weekends? I will probably call up tomorrow and see what’s going on as Wednesday jumps are nice as well. neilp
