  1. Thats funny!! Whats funnier is I didn't have to go to napster to get the rythim to the song An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  2. Damn that was funny! I felt the same way about learning all the "talk" when John Hoover ask me a bunch of RW questions last year at a camp he ran. Eventually I figured out. Just have fun and enjoy it will come to you much faster, then you can apply the presure you want to get to the gold. An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  3. A couple of our wings. The Tie Dye is Chad Conner's rig (currently in Iraq) The Black with Red, White and Blue is Justin Denton's rig (currently in Korea) The Blue one is mine. The two black ones with yellow or the Screaming Eagles Vidiot rigs. An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  4. Same standards where used for the now defunct Ft. Campbell Sport parachute Club. For our Team FJC's it is about 5 hours of class room work. Then off to the meat grinder for a week or two. Our FJC is part of assesment and they will have a "A" license (weather permiting) to move on to the next phase. An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  5. Great Job! I taught my wife to ride on a CBR 900 RR a few years ago and we still have a CBR 600 F4i that we play with from time to time. If it is a little too "tall" you should be able to use a spanner wrench and lower the rear of the bike by "loossening" the compression collar on the rear shock. Some of the rear shocks mount on a moveable or repositionable lower mount to change the ride hieght with out affecting the suspension performance. But Chuck already new that and i am just trying to sound smart,. On a side note I like to follow when a sexy woman is riding on a racer style bike. (OK I am now looking over my shoulder for Chucks right Hook!) An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

  7. To the best of my Knowledge Pete is not a father. It is a personnal issue between the 2 of them. The only thing we need to know is; we got asked, we answered and we are done. Now before we all get banned lets move on. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  8. I thkn one of the Golden Knight Demo Team Team Leaders has the best set I have seen. He has a pair of the Adidas GSG-9's resoled with a "Vans" type sole. Support and slide or run ability in one black shoe! I use vans for tandems and sabre/rage/riot parachute landings and GSG-9's for all others. Like a previous poster 2 pairs of different shoes for 2 different uses. I didn't help did I? Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  9. With my course I am lucky, the students are all military (or maybe that is unlucky?) I add an additional jump with them were I am the passneger and it is a complete "talk through" with me. The course is as stated by RWS aside from that. I have never had to fail any one but we have repeated a few jumps. For me the hardest part is not taking over the canopy control and landing on thier commands. On the front on do not wear my better jump suits. Maybe I will buy a grass green and mud brown model soon? 10. The ankle supports the Army is using has been in service for the Airborne since pre-1997. They have a smooth outer surfice but there is still a potential for a snag. The Freefall Jumpers do not use them, but the Static line students and now some of the 82nd do. The Staic line jumpers have less of a chance to snag a suspension line during dployment (all thoug hit does happen). Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. 11. I am Pete's old Boss from the Screaming Eagles. I know his last local please PM me. Matt Never mind. Nothing personnal but it is SSG Peter Martin's request. An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  12. Factory Diver on RW loads. GatorZ on Tandems (some Demo's). Clear Goggles on Demo's (mostly), CRW and night jumps and as an instructor. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  13. Maybe the MeSL could answer that. They just did a meet with all the "old" randoms and block put back in. I didn't save the draw, sorry. It was tongue in cheek any way. Next lets try FUBAR, SNAFU etc etc... Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  14. Talked to Mike today and the "Tetris" is the offical name of the suit he sent me. So now I know. The suit rocks thats all that matters! Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  15. The tunnel for some students is easier since there is no stress from the deployement, canopy control and landing. Some times the other things invovled in a skydive can be in the back of your mind and you may be a little distracted and that can make you stiff. Just my 2 cents. 16. Where do you stay? D-all ofthe above. There is a camping area, team rooms, bunk house and even with a little drive hotels. I would stay at the DZ. It is a good way to learn and have fun after the days jumping is all done. Contact Betsy at Eloy she can clue you in. ( I bet she wil correct any thing i missed and chime in real soon though, at least I am counting on it) Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  17. I am an independant so I dislike both parties equally. My take on the approval ratings is that people don't like the job he is doing, but not jumping ship. Of course if the poll is in a red state a blue party person is going to do poor and vice versa. ALL politicians can do better, we need to tell them what we think as they are supposed to be our reps. And when all else fails vote! So few people did again last election (by the Gov accountants count). Personnally political bantering on a web sight is useless, we will rarely change some ones mind or truely inform them as they are already set in their ways, I know my old ass is. Maybe all the W's are getting ready for the P's (Powel that is). But I think some one has already pointed out he is to smart to lower himself to the steriotypicle politicians level and will stay a private citizen. Ok my soap box is breaking so I must go! 18. You'll be fine just like Hookit said. I spent the "year off" there myself and after jumping with a coach one time I was back in the swing of things. On the 2nd and 3rd coach jumps I decided to make the coach work (after all I did put him through the course 18 months earlier). Focus on where you are and all of us will be here for you when you get back. Find me and I will get you current, on me. Matt SFC US Army Ft. Campbell An Instructors first concern is student safety. 19. If he is a videographer for tandems and does the customary "clap clap piece sign shot" for the video that will be a very expensive jump! Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

  21. On the AM General page it has a nice phto of HMMWV under 2 Chutes. So does the Army Rigger School home page. Plus the one we saw in the ADACG bay 2 days ago only had 2 chutes. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

  24. I have the 2" (+or-) wide strip on the front, I calll that the blunt edge from his traditional design. The Knife edge has the sides sewn together in the front, so that the stiffener is "touching" and creates the "knife" edge. I suppose this is the "tetris" model but Mike and I have never called it that when talking. Have you found that you can really get "feet high" when using the booties to gain lift to float and in a track? Any way best suit I have, by far! Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  25. Just got my new Michigan Comp suit today. The stifiners are made of closed cell foam. The knife edge allows for some real powerful turns but a new tychnique will be needed to move forward (turn your toes out abit). I got the blunt edge stiff booty since it is complimetary to my personnal flying style. They turn real fast too, but I do not have to turn my toes out to move forward. At my age breaking this habit is gonna take to long. Took it out of the box today at noon and by 3 pm and 3 jumps later I wonder what I can do with my other suits, maybe just use them for tandems and loungin' around the DZ.
