  1. I like it. You look very nice. It is a refined, an eloquent pretty, with a hint of cuteness. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  2. I am not SF, but I used a lip stick camera and fanny pack recorder in Iraq and recently we did the same for the NFL network when the Titans came and did PT with us (we had 2 helmets and Optik and an ACH). The ACH in Iraq we just put longer screws in the helmet where the chin strap mounts and the camera was right at eye level on the left side. A few small zip ties through the helmet cover added a little security and helped in alignment, it also helped to rout the cable to the center of the back of the helmet. The cable connection was on the fanny pack and was standard plug in out style so it would release if need be in a hurry. It was rigged a bit funky but worked. The fanny pack was mounted on the back of the IBA above the spare ammo/ordinance and below the extraction handle. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  3. And in special circumstances the Safety would wear a T-10, and T-10R with ruck and weapon, and jump too! Being a JM in the 82nd, where most of the jumps where mass exit and they all left in 1 or 2 passes, wasn't to bad. Then came the day you got one of those small DZ's and only 10 to 12 could get out of the C-141 with 180 jumpers on board (like Postage Stamp or Grenada DZ's). 4. I used to be "Dad" to my daughter. Now, since she can walk, talk, tie her own shoes, cook a meal and use a computer as well as me (maybe better) and out play me in a video game, and starting to really notice and like boys, I am "You just don't understand." I guess when I walk her down the isle it will change again, "The guy signing the check" But I love her! That is all. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  5. Will you accept my apologize for not being there? Will you be ok with it, since it will be to help re-man our beloved 101st Para Demo Team? We got our budget today. Maybe we can do "Spring Training" in Xenia?
  6. Hmm. All I ever had on my Bike was thong wearing college girls (before I got married). Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  7. The dog saying "Hi" to the T-I is classic! Sniff Sniff "Hi, Dad!" Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  8. If I am not mistaken this won't be the first time the 2006 GK team competes. They won Gold in 4-way Men and Women's classes in the CISM meet (the Team split and added a few others to do this I think). The roster may be a bit different than it started in Nov of last year, but no doubt it is full of National and International experience and Gold Medals. I am even willing to bet they hit the podium, if not I will buy a beer for you. Matt P.S. It was freaken cold out the ramp of the C-130 Friday! But at least I got to jump the 135 instead of the Sigma for a change! Nothing like swooping the turn in point. An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  9. Go south about an hour and ask for SGT Airborne. He has a few. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  10. Rest easy and proud. God speed. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  11. Partially true. Part of your job is to set things up for you to be successful in. This success can be aided by the right outer garment for you and your student. If your skill is better (or as it gets better) the outer garments become less of the success equation. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  12. This is a reach, as there is no meat to post, but then why do we Examiners Teach Instructors how to land with students and all the Rigs I have seen have dual toggles? Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  13. I did a demo in Branson MO in 2005 from one. Very cool plane, flown by the Pilot that flew it to VN in the late 60's! It is a flying museum piece now. Well cared for. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  14. If you call Bev, Mike or Tony and tell them your goal they will build the suit to match up. I personally like Michigan Suits. When I buy a suit, if it is to used differently than my current suit, I talk over the options with Mike and each time the suit has been spot on. I am sure it will be the same for Bev and Tony. There are other suit makers out there sure but in my experience all the top teams gravitate to these three, there must be a reason. YMMV Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. 15. I have even used a "baggy" freefly jacket to add drag on top of my slow fall Tetris, I can drop down to about 100 mph with that and a recovery body position. That combo made for a very good set up when working with light and tall (110 to 115mph) students in freefall last weekend. I am designing my next Tetris and will order it probably within the week (providing no OTHER unforseen finacial situation arrises). Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. 16. (riggerrob) The closing loops only last about 8 to 10 jumps with the "burn" issue. We never expect them to go much betond 20 and be safe to use. (golowjoe) That is the concences and the rig owner/rigger will reset the kill line length. Thanks all. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  17. We do and I have only seen 1 Student baulk at the idea. Turns out her weight loss partner was the other student and she had been fibbin' about the weight she lost (she actually gained 15 + lbs). Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  18. Well if the sledge hammer IS happening then would this create enough heat to melt the closing loop or flex pin? The stuff just peels righ off and the flex pin is smooth under it. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  19. Has any one else ever seen a flex pin get so hot during the deployment process the pin is burning or the closing loop is melting? The flex pin has a black residue I believe is from the closing loop melting on to it during extraction. But the flex pin also seems to be losing material. The flex pin and whole drogue is less than 4 months old and only has 50 jumps on it. Could this be caused by the drogue being inflated still after the release handle is pulled? 20. The whole thing is just sick. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  21. With my slick suit I need a drogue to recover if I go low or fall off thebase due to a funnel. Suits are mechanical aides and every mechanic needs a box full of tools. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  22. I have only seen them at the Museum. But the old videos look cool and I wish they did have maybe 1 of each type of old Paratrooper plane flying for the hell of it. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
