  2. Hi mx, "opening altitudes" are a trip. 2500' floor for novices and if you're a hot shot 2K to unload trash. Then we started AFF training and students were opening at 4500'!! Well, the deal is we have to get the student open first..THEN.. the JM's and Instructors get to save Their life!! Now since this has been going on for several years, most jumpers are "frozen" above 3500'!! Hell when I was with New Dimensions Flite School at Perris Valley, we'd get the student uncorked by 4 or so then me, the other JM and the Camera man would fly to the middle and toss 3 or 4 points of impromptu RW eg L Donut, R donut, round, L donut or what ever we came up with and still get open by 2 grand!! Good times!! SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  3. Hi Lucky, Prayers said, good vibes too for the both of ya'. SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  4. Hi mn, Maybe there "was" a taser on his belt but from the video and the elapsed time from when he put his hand on his pistol until its' discharge he had ample time to figure out whether or not he had his "Taser" or his "Pistol" so go figure?? No "X-Ray" vision involved! 'You been watchin' too many old Buster Crabbe movies on the old Cathode ray tube!! Everything today is done with "Lasers!!" SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  5. Hi HW, Yup, I'll be there! Talked to Chuck Semour PRC and he said a bunch of the old Lakehurst Crowd are coming. I was at PR"A" School there in '67. SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out

Hi Bo, Toss the coin, good fun!! For all the time I've spent at the Raeford DZ Bar what with all the Ft. Bragg types out there I have yet to be around when one of em' tosses a coin!!! I got one in my log book from the 35th signal brigade (ABN) (We were demoing some MIRPS chutes for em' when I worked for SkirvyIrvin) and I also keep a bunch of Mardi Gras Dabloons from New Orleans!! "Have Dabloons, will Party!" So toss a coin, I got Dabloons and a few spares if ya' get caught short and need one!! See you at the bar!! BTW Mardi Gras is 24FEB be there!! 11. Hi Chile, Gotta' laugh! Schneider trucks had a speed control gorvenor set at as I recall, 62MPH!! Oh well, 'ya hit 62 and it beeps and if you do it enough you lose brownie points or something. Most of the time I was running 75K+lbs gross and even a new engine would pull that slow up hill!! Box drivers would fly by me sure!! They were haulin' "ass wipe!!" It didn't matter really because most of the time I was on roads with double nickle speedlimits for trucks!! 56 and a ticket!! Blue light specials are great at K-mart but not behind my vehicle!! Quit truckin and went back to the Rag Trade (Parachute mfg) now I have the best job!!!! I'm retired!! My card reads, "A. Bill Deli" Sport Parachute Bum retired; no phone, no address, leave message, gone fishin'!!!!! BTW you were talkin about Schneider Box drivers. I was with Schneider Specialized haulin' Big Glass outa' Laurinburg NC. Two things about haulin' Big Glass, 'Ya gonna' break some and 'ya gonna' get cut!! SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  12. Hi JB, "What you do" in the military is different service to service. All those "codes" an stuff for AF Army etc?? When I was in the Navy your "job" was called your "Rate" (enlisted) I was an "Aircrew Survival Equipmentman" or PR for "Parachute Rigger" (1966-1970) SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  13. Hi Rocky, Tire chains in the snow and "slush," YUCK!! The other side of the coin is flatbed loads that require chains instead of straps!! (eg, 40+ 000 lbs of steel bars!!) 'ya hook one end of the chain (one chain every 3 or so feet) on the side of the bed then "sling" the rest over the top of the load!!! Then rig the lever clamp and try to snap it in place with your "cheater bar!!" without it slapping you in the face and knocking some teeth out!! Good fun!! Still got my "cheater bar" might need it to close some flaps on a really tight reserve sometime!! (Just kidding!) I could go on.... Driving an orange "pumpkin" the other truckers used to call me "Mr Schneider" unless they were behind me going up-hill in the West Verginia mountains when I was lugging a 79,000 lb gross load in 3rd or 4th gear!!!! it got interesting sometimes!! 14. Hi Rocky, 'Know what ya' mean, been there, done that, still got a couple of "Schneider" T-shirts in the closet!! Over the road, long haul, Big Glass, Flatbed!! 2001-2003. 16. Hi pop, Saw the video of the cop un-holstering his pistol (not reaching for any taser!!) definitely taking his time, (he knew damn well what in he2xl he was doing) and blassted the guy! At least James Butler was holding a good hand (aces and 8's I think) when he got shot in the back!! Leave it to "The Only Ones'" "'Approaching Critical Mass!!" SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out

  18. Hi Charlie, Well, go back a few years, like between '85 and 95' at Scare-us-Valley in one of the DC-3's (I think it was either Skips' Mike Alpha or Yon Aarvik's Hour Douglas. We get ready to head up to the wild blue and I go up front to hang out by the Pilot, co-pilot seats for take off, great view over the nose. Several lady skydivers park themselves on the floor in the area behind the co-pilot where he navigator's compartment used to be and then the fun began. The expressions on their faces were "PRICELESS!!!!" It seems that the floor "vibrates" just right there and you can figure out the rest!!!!!!!! What fun!!!!! "Aero-gasm!!!" 19. Hi BV, So where ya' located?? If yer close enough I can bring my boat, 14' carolina strip boat (jon boat style) with a 9.9 Merc. From the looks of those pine trees, you could be in the south? Carnival

Hi all, Today 06Jan is the first day of the Carnival season which will culminate on Fat Tuesday better known as Mardi Gras!! This year, Mardi Gras is on FEB24. 'Ya got 49days from today! Anybody plan on going?? Maybe we can meet at Pat O's for a Hurricane and party on Bourbon St!!! 22. Hi Og 1, We were holding a 2-way when I saw the porch light, so between me, YELLING!, letting go of grips, uncorking, and him getting a glimps of the hi-speed dirt below, he got the message. There was no moon so it was good and dark. We were out in the field between the old hanger and the road a couple hundred yards or so. Being that dark and no references, the horizon went BLACK! I went to 1/4 brakes and got in the PLF position, talk about a blind landing. I did OK but Frenchy broke his leg!! As for the "Point Break" thing, He2xl!! they hadn't even filmed "Gypsy Moths" yet!! They were saving that "carrying on a conversation in free fall" till later! SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  23. Hi Howard!, "Old Yeller'" 418. Sy had about 3 DGA's on line at that time maybe 2?? So I'll check my logs and see if I wrote down the Buzz # ?? Real Good Photo of 418, I believe it was the last one of the bunch to fly! SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  24. Hi All, It's still early here in NC but the New Year is off and running!! Just hung out at the house but was thinking of New Years Past! New Years 1968, Old Elsinore, Howard DGA-15P, Gus Norberg (pilot) 12.5K of course, me, Mike "Frenchy" Babineaux, Dale Moench, Gary Douris, and Cho (Korean guy). Suppose to exit 30 sec before midnight but got off 20 sec before and then the fun began. Got a hookup with Mike and we were waiting for the others, they took a while, when I noticed the front porch light on the house across the street from the DZ looked mighty big!! I yelled at Frenchy to PULL and I got my trash out! We were about a grand!! Gary got a night dead center in the peas by the packing tables(lights from tables on peas) and Frenchy broke his leg!! The guys carted Frenchy to the hospital and I went around on the frost covered DZ to police up everyone's gear. By the time I got to the Rumble Seat for my first beer of the year it was almost 2 AM and Bob Cox was bitching out Mayilyn Webb because she pulled a pitcher of beer from some joker doing a Pope Demo!!! Fun Night!! So, were there any good New Years' Dives (Sky or Base!!) out there??? BTW Gary still runs "Free Flight" around Elsinore somewhere and you can ask him, I'm sure he'll be glad to tell the story!! And ask him for a "Bat Cardinal!!!" demo!!!!! 25. Hi cs, We need "More" "Rigid" gun laws ??? Enough Already!!!!!! Take a RED!!! To say we are doing just fine with the gun laws we now have is a joke!! We can scrape off about half of em', can as many criminals with the ones left for less of our tax $$$$, and there'll still be plenty for people like you!! Thank God we don't have hunting laws like yours in Germany!! Here in NC there's a move to extend the deer season.. more season ..more deer... more hunting...more guns... more bang, bang... I love it!! One of the major pushers for this move it seems is the Auto Insurance industry!! There are more deer, they jump in front of cars and get hit, the cars get wrecked and the insurance companies have to ante up $$ for the busted up cars!! SO, extend the deer season, more hunters can take more deer and the insurance companies will pay out fewer claims!! So, just stay in your beloved Germany with all "your" gun laws and we'll fend for oursevels over here, GOT THAT!!!! BTW, more fresh venison.. "God, Guns and Guts keep America FREE!!!!" "Don't tread on me!!" SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
