  1. YES...the TONY Aerobat. WSI-6 / PFI-55 The Brothers Gray Wingsuit Academy http://www.myspace.com/cgwingsuitpilot http://www.myspace.com/thebrothersgray
  2. That is interesting b/c I have flown Tony's personal Mach 1 many times which is 3 inches longer at the toe and 7 inches longer at the middle of the leg wing than my Aerobat without issues. I obviously could not tension the suit properly to get best glide (excess drag) but I was still able to get a 38 mph vert speed. It was not scary to me during deployment either. It was not flappy at all for me. Don't get me wrong a suit that is the right length will give the best performance any day. 3. WOW...very nice flying Robi!! Makes me want to do WS BASE. Perhaps next summer during our European Wingsuit Tour. WSI-6 / PFI-55 The Brothers Gray Wingsuit Academy http://www.myspace.com/cgwingsuitpilot http://www.myspace.com/thebrothersgray
  4. The boogie went great. Friday was a good, smooth start to the boogie with clear skies and a good turn out. Got a couple people trained up today. Saturday was even nicer with cooler temps and a big turn out so we had both the Otter & the Beech 99 flying. What a party night. :) Sunday was slow to start but we got a few flocking dives together and the new pilots did a great job. We had 8 FFC participants and a few more simply sit in on the class. All the students did really well for their first flights. Got a couple of them in on some small flocking dives on Sunday. Congrats to all the wingsuit pilots at Skydive Orange!! 5. That is awesome man. I am sure the bird was thinking "What the fuck is that over there?"...haha! WSI-6 / PFI-55 The Brothers Gray Wingsuit Academy http://www.myspace.com/cgwingsuitpilot http://www.myspace.com/thebrothersgray
  6. I say cancel that order and contact Tonysuits or Phoenix Fly. Both are great quality products, fast delivery time, & their service before & after the sale is outstanding. 7. We have the beginnings of a European Wingsuit Tour. I will see you there Jeff. WSI-6 / PFI-55 The Brothers Gray Wingsuit Academy http://www.myspace.com/cgwingsuitpilot http://www.myspace.com/thebrothersgray
  8. I want to do that at the burning man festival while dressed like jesus, but they got that whole no cars thing. It probably won't do but admitting it is much better than claims of "wind tunnel tested" appearing in the owners manual. Isn't the Burning Man Festival also know as the Gay Man Festival??? 9. Justin or Jeff How would you compare the APACHE to the SM1 in regards to how it must be flown and performance range? WSI-6 / PFI-55 The Brothers Gray Wingsuit Academy http://www.myspace.com/cgwingsuitpilot http://www.myspace.com/thebrothersgray
  10. Nice flight! Congrats on your first flight and welcome to the flock! If you want coaching and you are in central Virginia let me know. You can find me at Skydive Orange. 11. JUST A REMINDER! THE ORANGE BOOGIE (VA) is less than 2 weeks away. There is going to be plenty of wingsuit fun. The Brothers Gray are organizing and First Flight Courses will be available to qualified skydivers. If interest is high enough we will hold a distance challenge too. We will have select Tony wingsuits for student jumps and to demo. Come out and join in the fun!! 12. Really enjoyed the video. That orange traffic cone I flew is a hoot. Shows up well in video. WSI-6 / PFI-55 The Brothers Gray Wingsuit Academy http://www.myspace.com/cgwingsuitpilot http://www.myspace.com/thebrothersgray
  13. Dammit Zach!! I wish I could make it but my schedule is just about full for the rest of the year. I hear MOAB is an awesome boogie & the scenery looks amazing. I will see you at F&D 3.5 WSI-6 / PFI-55 The Brothers Gray Wingsuit Academy http://www.myspace.com/cgwingsuitpilot http://www.myspace.com/thebrothersgray
  14. Ohh...I forgot to ask. How many wingsuit flights have you made? What suit/s have you flown? Where did you make your First Flight? How thorough was you First Flight Training? -Chris- WSI-6 / PFI-55 The Brothers Gray Wingsuit Academy http://www.myspace.com/cgwingsuitpilot http://www.myspace.com/thebrothersgray
  15. Well....That is a question that you really have to answer for yourself. Everyone is going to have a favorite brand and model but what works for that person doesn't make it the best choice for you. I really think that in order to find out what you like you need to demo as many suits as you can. A great place to do this is during a wingsuit boogie like FLOCK & DOCK 3.5 in October at Z-Hills. They have dozens of demo suits to try and I feel certain that Tony Suits and Phoenix Fly will have booths there. In the mean time if you have any wingsuiters near you just ask to try their suits. An even better thing is to get with a wingsuit instructor who has suits that can also provide coaching. My last piece of advice is start with a beginner suit. Your skills will improve more quickly with a suit that is more forgiving. A Tony Aerobat or a PF Phantom or Acro would all be great choices if you are going to buy a new suit. Good luck & Welcome to the flock! -Chris- WSI-6 / PFI-55 The Brothers Gray Wingsuit Academy http://www.myspace.com/cgwingsuitpilot http://www.myspace.com/thebrothersgray
  16. Well-said Chuck. It is our responsibility to uphold the highest level of safety while introducing our dicipline to people who have never tried it before. A lot of people still have the misconceived view that flying wingsuits is dangerous. By properly training new pilots and educating both wingsuiters & non-wingsuiters we can help lessen this ill view that so many people have about the sport that we enjoy so much. -Chris- WSI-6 / PFI-55 The Brothers Gray Wingsuit Academy http://www.myspace.com/cgwingsuitpilot http://www.myspace.com/thebrothersgray
  17. Although I didn't fly it...I did get to try on Tony's personal Apache at the Skyfest boogie. The suit is a new direction for Tony Wingsuits and I think it may lead to some very interesting and innovative designs in the future. Keep up the good work! , Chris WSI-6 / PFI-55 The Brothers Gray Wingsuit Academy http://www.myspace.com/cgwingsuitpilot http://www.myspace.com/thebrothersgray
  18. That is awesome. I am also impressed by the SM1 and I currently have one on order. The suit is the cutting edge design in the wingsuit market at this time. Jeff & Tony have done more for the advancement of wingsuit design in the last 12 month than has occurred by anyone else in the last 3+ years. Congrats to them and keep up the good work. This can only mean fiercer competition between the wingsuit manufacturers and us the consumers are the ones who benefit from it. Cheerio, Chris WSI-6 / PFI-55 The Brothers Gray Wingsuit Academy http://www.myspace.com/cgwingsuitpilot http://www.myspace.com/thebrothersgray
  19. All that sounds great Scott. We will have lots of talented pilots so I see no reason why we can't build some 3-D formations to include stacks and the like. Tailgate aircraft would be awesome. Please Scott Bland make it so!!! WSI-6 / PFI-55 The Brothers Gray Wingsuit Academy http://www.myspace.com/cgwingsuitpilot http://www.myspace.com/thebrothersgray
  20. Actually Katee there are some wingsuiters in GA. My brother Scott Gray (The Brothers Gray) is based in Atlanta and jumps at ASC & The Farm. There are some other pilots that Scott knows so just send him a PM. He is a rated WS Instructor and is a great coach/teacher. He would love to have more people to flock with. If you ever find yourself in Virginia then let me know. I am based at SD Orange near Charlottesville. 21. Ohh...Ohhh...Me...Me!!! I want to learn how to fly!! WSI-6 / PFI-55 The Brothers Gray Wingsuit Academy http://www.myspace.com/cgwingsuitpilot http://www.myspace.com/thebrothersgray
  22. Yes, but not new skydiving students. They were new wingsuit students. Both guys I taught had 400-500 jumps and took to flying immediately. Once I knew they were stable and heads-up they joined in on some small flocking dives. I would like to see more skills progression and training after someone passes their FFC jump. I see too often that a new wingsuit pilot is sent off on his/her own immediately after their first flight without any further info or training. By getting them into some small flocking dives we can get them more interested in wingsuiting and improve their skills more quickly. WSI-6 / PFI-55 The Brothers Gray Wingsuit Academy http://www.myspace.com/cgwingsuitpilot http://www.myspace.com/thebrothersgray
  23. Very nice formation flying guys! WSI-6 / PFI-55 The Brothers Gray Wingsuit Academy http://www.myspace.com/cgwingsuitpilot http://www.myspace.com/thebrothersgray
  24. Yeah...we need to show those Birdman TOPGUN birds what us American pilots can do with some multi-point formations. WSI-6 / PFI-55 The Brothers Gray Wingsuit Academy http://www.myspace.com/cgwingsuitpilot http://www.myspace.com/thebrothersgray
  25. I flew a Mach 1 for most of the Skyfest Boogie compliments to Tony & Jeff. I flew it on jumps ranging from taking students on FFC jumps to flocks (slow & fast) to cross-country distance flights. The suit is absolutely badass!! Mega range, great for flocking and if you want max ground speed it will flat out haul ass. After the flocking dives broke off I was either off to the races with the Vampire & Mach 1 pilots or floating the suit and watch the flock fall out of the sky. I would put it up against anything currently available and it would win. Also as previously said the new cut-away and the zipper placement makes it the easiest suit period. Brilliant design! Like Tony said, "Once you go Mach, You never go back". WSI-6 / PFI-55 The Brothers Gray Wingsuit Academy http://www.myspace.com/cgwingsuitpilot http://www.myspace.com/thebrothersgray
