  1. You can send it to the manufacturer or find a rigger to do it. Cost either way is around $250
  2. I'm sorry Scott, but I don't know what the riggers at perris do as far as things like that. I would guess if it's installed properly, they wouldn't charge to reinstall it. [Just my guess, however]
  3. riggerrob..I have a PD line trim manual i can copy for you. Email me and I'll give you my phone #
  4. I am the main rigger at a good sized DZ in California and I charge $60 for reserve I&R. Some may think that is expensive but for the service I give I don't consider it expensive at all. There are some independents around that charge less, but they also charge for all the little things that should be included with the I&R. Safety stows, a quick stitch on the container, a hand tack here and there. When they charge for all that, it can add up to more than I charge outright. I also pay a percentage to the DZ for rent. I pay for the maintanence on my sewing machines and tools. Just like any other business, you have to balance what your work is worth and what the customer is willing to pay for you work. I have 2500 repacks and 140 documented saves. I think I'm worth $60,and so do a lot of my customers
  5. Does anyone have any info on an accident at skydive chicago On Saturday?
  6. Hi Rhonda, If you have a good rigger available, He/She can call Altico and get a tuck tab mod for your riser covers. Its not a very hard mod to do. also have velcro or a bridle cover put on the main flap and you should be alright. Just keep everything in good condition and have fun.
  7. Should know in a couple of weeks all the details concerning Stunts and Reflex.
  8. Just to inform anyone who owns a Reflex container, Fliteline has been bought by Ray Ferrell of California. It will relocate up north. Information on customer support and contact numbers will be out shortly.. You can quit worrying... riggergreg
  9. According to my information, which is pretty reliable,Fliteline is being bought by another manufacturer pretty soon. Parts should start being available in about 45 days. Information and contact information should be available in appx 2 weeks.
  10. Why would you want to jump a unit anyway??
  11. O.K. I need some help. What is the best way to get to the Lost prairie boogie if you want to fly from southern california. I heard fly into Spokane and rent a car. How about it?
  12. Para-Flite also has a hybrid called the Turbo-Z
  13. Reflex is closed right now, but I hear it is being bought. Don't know when the deal will happen though. I'll let you know as soon as I know.
  14. I should hear tonight at our riggers meeting what exactly is happening at Fliteline. I'll let you know as soon as I Know. For now ,chase down that freebag and pilot chute.
  15. As part of the investigation team on Sunday evening at Skydive Elsinore, I would like to say a thing or two about what should happen and why things are reported as they are. First, if you witness an accident,Let someone on staff know immediately. Don't just go running out to see what happened. You will probably just get in the way. If it is fatal, the police will consider it a crime zone and won't want anything touched. If you witnessed the accident, let someone know so they can get your statement for the investigation. Don't start rumors if you don't know exactly what happened. You know how rumors get out of hand. Just tell what you saw,not what you think might have happened. The Police are whuffos and don't understand most of what is told to them,so dont confuse them. Remember, The police are usually the ones who report to the press,so they don't know anymore than the reporters. Don't blame them for being ignorant. As soon as we can come up with a possible reason or cause of an accident we will post it. O.K.,I've gone on enough. lets just try to keep this kind of thing from happening again. Be safe out there
  16. The investigation is still ongoing. What we have so far is just a low cutaway with no reserve deployment. The main was cutaway at appx. 500 ft. The reserve handle was not pulled. More when we get the official report.
  17. Sunshine factory has metal fids for fingertrapping. once you learn how to use fids properly, they work great.
  18. On the bigger Sabres, 190s,210s etc. sometimes if you don't untwist the brake lines the second line will catch or be slow to release as they were designed to. This can cause some strange openings. Also, you need to make sure that the slider is all the way against the stops or you may have some hard openings. I jumped a 170 sabre for over 800 jumps and never had a problem. Sabres are more packing sensitive than a lot of other canopies
  19. The oldest gear I have jumped was a 1968 crossbow with a 26' lopo reserve and a 27' paracommander. You could unzip the reserve container and wear it on your chest if you were afraid of piggyback systems. It worked fine but weighed about 60 pounds
  20. Any altitude below an open reserve is wasted altitude
