  1. That is "Awesomeness" congrats! Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  2. It did not look like Jumpsuits would have made too much a difference.... "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  3. FINE....... nice suit Butters... "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  4. The only recommendation I have heard is to look to replace them, provided there is no obvious damage that you note, with a new Line set.. Makes sense but for the cost of a Set of "Slinks" (or what ever brand) if your worried by all means change them. I have a set I have been jumping for over 500 jumps and they look fine but I will probably change them at a re-line.. Just my thought.... Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  5. I liked the photo that Drake put up!
  6. Sounds really familiar but it was about 2800' with 2 x 4 ways competing to see if there was a "Falcon" Award available.. Yes that did at one point exist as a 4pt 4-way What seems like ages ago in the early mid 90's This was a cloudy day adventure that built to 4-ways from solos... Damn the clouds steady at under 3K... Eventually my "team" formed and on the last jump I was sure we "Got" the 4th pt but got called BS on a missing grip by the other team watching from the GROUND. They called for the missing grip on the Cat for our 4th pt, bastards. They thought they could beat us then and we thought the were full of it by busting us on calling the missing grip, well we were wrong on the fact of what they could see and were able to call a missing grip (maybe 2 but that is still up for debate) from the ground on their jump... Nothing was resolved to a full conclusion but given it was the end of day the at the "Bucka'roo" boogie, we were left to debate over beers at the fire.. That was my lowest 3 or maybe 4 pt 4 way exit but a solo exit was still well below the 1800' mark on Main.. But to the credit of the pilot on exit, we did get a little extra airspeed on that 182 Jump Run..... Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  7. I agree! "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  8. That is awesome, now have someone toss up a pic or two..........
  9. Is this segment up on YouTube yet? Scott "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  10. I forgot to get some Tix over the weekend when we talked John..... I just went to the web page and cant see the link on the Raffle page to buy tix? I might be blind though.. Is it still there? I have a $20 for the Raffle I need to spend! Scott "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  11. OMG, there are so many ways to take that Photo. Almost to the level of Skittles trying to get onto the Record Jumps later this year with J-Sho... Have at the Photo with PhotoShop people... Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  12. There use to be a 3 sec rule for RW formations but that went away as well awhile back. I am guessing it is the same here in terms of thinking and keeping in line with the get a picture mentality, not the video for a period of time.. Just a thought Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  13. I want to see the Data/Plot/Graph! "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

  15. Well then I retract all my Simple Math Calculations! "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  16. Yea, but it's a Moderator drifting it so it's okay in this case, right (need a refill of kool-aid?) ? I don't need a refill as I agree and was the first to post it was drifting. I would be happy to have all the bitching about WSI and regulations and peoples interests and motives not in this thread. Instead of throwing me under the bus for pointing it out, how about adding to the conversation as a WS guy that likes to do Tandem Fly By's????? Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  17. Charley, I would say to take the GPS numbers with a grain of salt (same as WS forum). If you look at the vertical speeds he was supposedly sustaining and the 4.0:1 glide it's easy to see something is preventing it from being reliably accurate. Not meaning to dispute your Big Brain there Tony, but How do you calculate 4 to 1 Glide with the above numbers the Justin gave??? Did Yuri send over one of his charts??? My simple math skills give the following..... A 13,000' exit with a 2500' opening gives a vertical descent distance of 10,500' That over 5 miles (5280' = mile) or 26,400' These numbers give a Glide ratio of 2.51 to 1 over the course of the jump, again from my simple calculations. Given we also know the time of 3:28 from the video (give or take a few seconds based on who times it) and the distance we can also figure out the speed using the formula average speed = distance/time So plugging the numbers in --> 5 miles /3.47 minutes=1.44 miles /minute which translates to an average MPH of about 86.46 MPH So again I ask how you get a 4 to 1 Glide???? As a side I am jumping out at Shelton tomorrow, Come on out and Play! Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  18. Lack of GPS I would guess is because there are only 2 of them being flown (Justin and Phil) now. Not sure if the Suit that Jade had, which was a Proto is a X-Bird or a S-Bird that he noted jumping I think on his FB Page. To go a step further, there overall is not that much GPS Data out there anyway.. Most info people tout is coming from a Neptune (or Like Unit). I am guilty as I don't have a GPS like a WinTec or ForeTrex that I own.... Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  19. WOW, Thread Drift Warning! This was started as a thread about the opinions of Tandem FlyBys. After it was accused that somehow this was tied to the WSI and "regulation" threads Spot (at the meeting) and Chuck (e-mails with a RD) BOTH confirmed the fact of being talked to about this and the scrutiny of the FAA. I don't know when it turned into an extension of the other thread about peoples opinions (Good, Bad, Ugly, Stolen ect...) of the WSI rating proposal that was discussed at the BOD Meeting last weekend. If in fact the FAA is looking at our section of Skydiving given we potentially can have an interaction with the portion that THEY are very interested in (Tandems) I think it is a discussion that we all have a stake in. I would love to see this discussion continue regarding that and leave the Hate for the other thread.. At least that way this can be some what constructive and I can look at the other one to see bitching... Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  20. Mark, My head hurts..... "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  21. FAA looking at us using on line video sites coming from the 2 Different sources.. I hope that the WS community takes notice... Clouds less so but the Tandem Flyby's probably are not the best thing to post. Even far off ones do offer an increased risk and are not for low time WS flyers. They should not be done with out prior conversation with the TM period, which is something that I think we can all agree on. Tandems are under a different set of rules then regular skydiving and the FAA is more involved. Flyby problems has thankfully not been an issue that has come up so far but I do know some DZ are against it even with Prior consent. Given the Tandems open higher, are slower and are on most loads at DZ's with Bigger planes, they are much more of an object to go for in a WS compared to other sport canopies... At many/most DZ's the Tandem $'s are what really generates the nicer facilities for us to utilize. If that gets disrupted from an incident we are all really screwed. Obviously I would hate to have something happen just in general terms but with the ramifications for Skydiving in general noted from the above couple of Posters I pose the Question ---> IS THE RISK WORTH THE REWARD???? Alternatives to get the WS Buzz Job Jollies going, CRW seems to be getting some looks as a fun object to flyby as I have seen more flyby's of stacks lately. Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  22. I had heard she climbed but I did not know she was so well known.. Really Cool! Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  23. The slow "figure 8" wobbly motion while sitting there dreaming about the "DOOOOOOORRRRRR" was pretty good. Surprisingly it was Scotty watching and not doing ... Trunk that was awesome of you to sub in for Scotty like that! As For Trunks flight it looked Great from the Video and what I saw from the door of their exit! I forgot to mention above that "JVC" did great on His first flight with me.... Congrats to both of you for joining the Flock... Happy WS-B-Day there Andreea, fun flying with you to celebrate.. Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  24. "Go Taya... Go Taya... Go Taya..." Lots of work and effort went into that and a big thanks for that, wingsuiting is going to benefit.. Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  25. That was a Fun event. We had over 20 wingsuitters on the DZ at any given time and though the weather was changing every 15 minutes which slowed us down some the weekend was a FANTASTIC time. Spot was out for the beginning and the end of the boogie. Phil, Jack and Debbie were great and a Big thanks for the DZ on putting up with the Wingsuiters! Also thanks to the jumpers that traveled to have some fun.. Lots of Pics were taken by Scotty B. He took some nice pics I am sure will show up somewhere. Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
