  1. No, once again, let me repeat it slowly for you. They shouldn't air anything favorable or unfavorable to either candidate on public airwaves unless they are paid advertisements for which they provide equal time, or news stories. But the ACLU, AARP, AOPA, NRA... all of those groups are banned from "advertising" for their endorsed candidate within X period of an election -- courtesy of McCain Feingold -- equal time or not. They are not allowed to mention the candidate. And who decides what is "favorable or unfavorable"?! To me, telling me that Kerry supported extending the assault-weapons ban is extremely unfavorable, but to others, it's a reason to vote for him. And that's just one easy example. How the hell would you test "favorable versus unfavorable"?! No, that's crap. If the broadcaster has paid to have those airwave frequencies designated to that company, if you say that under those circumstances the government can step in and tell that broadcaster WHAT to broadcast or not broadcast, you are advocating fascist control of the media. Like I said, just because you own a car and drive it on a public highway, doesn't mean the government can dictate what route you drive, or where you go and visit. -Jeffrey Really? I've been forced into diversions I didn't really want to take, because the govt. had closed roads for a motorcade. I think the govt can indeed dictate what route you drive.
  2. Where did I say I didn't like it? Don't put words in my mouth.
  3. If it's history, then it's certainly allowed, right? Kallend, I assume that you're now in favor of this? - Jim Was he ever against it? I thought his comment was ""
  4. He can't give it to anyone!!! You all said he doesn't have it Nope. It was under IAEA fior years, and then under US control till it disapeared. Mon Oct 11, 4:04 PM ET World - Reuters by Irwin Arieff UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) - Equipment and materials that could be used to make nuclear weapons are disappearing from Iraq (news - web sites) but neither Baghdad nor Washington appears to have noticed, the U.N. nuclear watchdog agency reported on Monday. "The equipment -- including high-precision milling and turning machines and electron-beam welders -- and materials -- such as high-strength aluminum -- were tagged by the IAEA years ago, as part of the watchdog agency's shutdown of Iraq's nuclear program. U.N. inspectors then monitored the sites until their evacuation from Iraq just before the war. The United States barred the inspectors' return after the war, preventing the IAEA from keeping tabs on the equipment and materials up to the present day."
  5. Just wondering who would do all those jobs that America's unemployed won't take? Paying more for the jobs doesn't work because its work they feel their above, regardless of what it pays, and it would also just slow down the economy... so what has been solved? J Whan I was 20 I worked for a guy who did home remodelling/carpentry etc. No business during the winter so he told me to find something else temporarily until business picked up then he'd bring me back. When the weather got warmer I called to see when I could come back to work. Turns out he hired an illegal instead because he could pay him less and under the table at that. Was he a Republican supporter?
  6. Accroding to the 9/11 report. No. But what do the 9/11 commissioners know? Bunch of pinko-liberal know-nothings!
  7. There is a double negative in the second option which makes it the same as the first option in the poll.
  8. yes. Texas is only #2 in executions, still trying to catch China.
  9. Spaeth Communications is the group behind the 2000 and 2004 smear campaigns. the first post was about the group behind the attacks. i see no change in the message.
  10. Ginsberg claims nobody but himself new of the dual role. I don't know if that's true or not, but can you say you know the Bush campaign did know? He's the attorney for the campaign. Or he was until he resigned. Why did he resign if he hadn't embarrassed the campaign?
  11. Obsolete shells from 2 wars ago hardly count as weapons of any kind, let alone "mass destruction". Get real. The war was based on false premises and has resulted in the unnecessary deaths of over 900 Americans. Further, it has distracted from the REAL war on terrorism.
  12. Don't forget we'd be taxing the drugs that are sold. So not only would we not be spending 60 billion a year on the war, but we'd be earning tax money off the sale of the drugs just like we do with tobacco and alcohol. As for really hard drugs, it might be best to have the government sell them directly through a supervised program. The program should be structured to either get the addicts off of hard drugs or work to prevent as much harm as possible these people will do to others through their use of drugs. That is most idiotic drabble I have ever read. Government distributing crack?! Real wise! The idea is to elevate society not lower it to bassest element. Freedom also means being able to raise your kids in a healthy environment. Government spends way too much on lazy asses now; let alone paying for their habits. I think 'it might be best to have the government sell' skydives 'directly through a supervised program.' See how niave and humorous your argument sounds. --------- Why is it more ridiculous than state-run liquor stores in Utah? Because you partake of alcohol, so alcohol is OK?
  13. Here we go with the toy rockets again. Good thing you weren't around during the rationing of WWII. You would be in tears. I thought conservatives were fundamentally in favor of individual rights and against expansion of state power. I guess I was wrong all along. You are only in favor of your own rights and don't care a rat's ass if the government tramples all over other people.
  14. I liked Air America and The Fighting Seabees
  15. Hi Zoter, Tracking off the wind line is an extremely important piece of any skydive. It's a manouvre that is done at breakoff altitude and is designed to allow you to track away from your formation without getting under anybody elses. Imagine a two-way exiting a plane first that has dropped facing into wind. (the usual configuration). At breakoff, both of the 2-way jumpers turn and track so as to be a safe distance from each other before they open. The trouble is, if they track up the jump run after being first out, this will likely put them under other jumpers and in a very dangerous position. To counter this, both jumpers should turn 90 degrees to the jump run (ie the windline) and track. This should allow separation of the 2-way without endangering other jumpers. It's much easier to explain the concept in person, so be sure to ask an instructor or experienced jumper next time you're at the DZ. It's important to know what this is and how to do it... hope this helps. Will All very well for a 2-way, but what about a 16 way? A more general purpose solution is needed, and that's correct exit spacing.
  16. Since it was well reported at the time AND after the investigation was complete, I fail to see what your comment is meant to achieve except trolling.
  17. It can cause problems..I know a guy that had a Sabre 170 and he wanted to downsize. So he went and got a Safire 149. The problem is the Safire 149 is really about a 135. He had no idea that canopies were measured differently, in fact most jumpers at the DZ didn't know till after this guy broke his leg. See how it can be an issue I discovered the same thing when I borrowed a Safire129. No injuries, but it took me by surprise!
  18. He gives us a good laugh when he opens his mouth? That has to be worth something.
