  1. aye, there's a carrier, the Lexington.. there's also a submarine and destroyer somewhere around there. Definitely go to SPI (south padre island) if you have the time, its a neat place with lots of trinkets and souvies if thats what you seek. also, the beach is quite nice, for a texas beach, anyway. If scores of tourist attractions dont raise your interest, you may try Rockport/Port Aransas, go across the ferry and there's a beach out there thats not too bad/infested. Havent been out that way in quite some time though.
  2. you know, this is funny, i just remembered the dream i had last night. I was wearing an OLD pilot's parachute, i guess i got shot down or something, i dont know, and i pulled the lil' D ring thing on my harness, and the pilot chute thing, which looked more like a droque with the really thick bridle came out wrapped around the canopy and i was doing everything i could to get it off, but i couldnt. So eventually i hit the ground, got up and went to the rigger and gave him all kinds of hell for fucking up my parachute so badly.
  3. hmm.. besides die? maybe try to get one last "O" but i doubt i'd be in the mood. i bet that'd raise some eyebrows. "well, he went out with his dick in hand..."
  4. how can a canopy downplane by itself? gotta have 2 canopies for that.
  5. 20, here. DAMN IT! *bangs head on table* so close yet so far.
  6. perhaps a very mild case of hypoxia? *shrugs* i know it affects some more then others. cant say i've ever had that problem however.
  7. man alot of people think i look/act like shaggy, especially when my hair gets really long. everybody's like, man he's totally shaggy from scooby doo!!
  8. those minuses are pretty bad. hahaha. sounds like a beautiful place though.
  9. yes.. a lil' short of 3 hours. but its seriously a bad ass movie. in my opinion anyway. that Helen is freaking HOT!!!! *drools* those eyes.... oh man.
  10. 0:0:0 weather turned out excellent but i'm broke as a joke, not a dime to my name so i went out and played golf all weekend instead it was fun. its not quite as entertaining as skydiving, but its free (for me) and there's just something to be said for making that super sweet shot with a 7 iron and watching the ball sail on down to the green.
  11. i thought it was great, but the girl that i saw it with felt the burning need to give me a full commentary. Finally about halfway through, i was like, okay. i'm sorry, i know you paid for my ticket, but SHUT UP! haha. Brad Pitt was definitely looking uber buff, i took greek mythology in college so i already knew the story which kinda took some fun out of it but it was still bad ass anyway. My only qualm was that in the huge battle scenes it seems like the cameras were way too close up, you couldnt see shit at all, just arms and legs and blood. *Shrugs*
  12. uh... *shrugs* sure why not
  13. hahaha that it would... but what happens when you hit that stump or root sticking out of the ground. DOH!! bye bye 500-1,000 dollar helicopter
  14. oh i wouldnt be in there.. it'd be cool to watch though.. being able to do something like that must have some tremendous military advantages, i would think?
  15. i dunno.. but i took Guitar in college and my teacher, cant remember her name but she was supposedly some very well known classical guitarist, she was always going on concerts all over the world. she had a guitar with the nylon strings and it was like EXTREMELY old, holy shit could she play that thing. I didnt even learn how to play, we spent all of the class time just listening to her play. just amazing.
  16. they need to make a fullsize helicopter that can do that. hahaha now that'd be the shit!
  17. i agree with PD.. i have a spectre 170 and i have flown a sabre2 170 and i definitely feel the spectre has a flatter glide path.
  18. gettin a lil' desperate there joseph?
  19. OOOH OOOH OOOH!!! *WAVES ARMS* TAKE ME TAKE ME TAKE ME!! you dont need to take me back to texas anyway, i'm tired of this place anyway.
  20. dude.. you're a little lonely arent you. nice little soft porn story tho. hmm a great kiss is that first time you realize that the girl likes you just as much as you like her and you enjoy that first kiss. not that i'd know anything about such matters.
  21. uhh i definitely dont wanna live in washington. Mt. Rainier is cool and all but definitely not my state. haha.
  22. well i dont really want to work in the aviation industry. Thats why i havent finished the school. I dont really know what i want to do, actually. Thats why i'm just kinda wanting to get to a different state and maybe the change in scenery will help me figure out just what i want to do with my life. heh. I really really want to move and to be honest, if i knew that i was going to have a job in one of those states, i'd be packing my stuff already and getting in my car
  23. hey people i was just sitting here and kinda evaluating everything again, i'm just wondering how the job market is over there, if there even is one, what kind of jobs are available? (background, i'm 20, male, 2 years of college and 5 months completed of aviation technician school) I'm not really looking for something super permanent, i've just been having too much shit going on lately and i'm thinking that a move and a chance to "start over again" would be a really good thing for me. Texas has never treated me right, and i absolutely love it in colorado and arizona.. i love the mountains with a passion. So anyway, hit me with your ideas. thanks!
  24. really? straight tomato sauce? no spices or peppers? hm. *shrugs* learn something new every day. and that's quite alright because i can be an asshole at times, too. (as may be quite evident)
  25. no i'd prefer Salsa, not tomato sauce, please. Besides, who eats chips with tomato sauce? And you're absolutely right, the best skydivers in the world could definitely be considered as "idols" to fledging skydivers. In fact, there are many people at my own dropzone that i admire due to their kickass skills. i'm uh, not really getting your point though. and of course improving your own skills is fun, i'll admit that finally cementing a certain move or skill is a blast. however, i also find just going out and goofing around is fun. *shrugs* NOW, on the other hand, somebody mentioned zoo dives. I dont really like those, although i've been on quite a few. i'd never take more then one super unexperienced jumper with me, i like to be one on one so that in case things go wrong in the sky, i only have one person that i need to expedite away from.
