oh god.

man i spent quite a few days sittin on the ground all winter. I was SO glad to finally get off student status. I'll jump in high winds, but i watch a couple of people that i really respect, if they wont jump i'm not goin nowhere.

i know the guy who Tarek is talking about, he had a broken steering line on a very highly loaded canopy and elected to go to reserve and had a lineover on that, which he managed to clear. Thanks for clearing that stuff up about the FAA regulations, i appreciate having somebody that actually knows a little more then "its against FAA regs" clear it up. :) Learn something new every day. You make very good points that maybe that jumper that flyingarab refers to also finds to be very true. Yeah, its a stupid thing to do if the reserve fails, but in all likelyhood with an intentional, anyway, you'll be stable and in a much better position to pull silver then if you were under some wildly malfunctioning main and panicking and just trying to save your life. *shrugs* i'm not saying everybody should go out and do an intentional on a dual parachute rig, but it really is pretty fun. Theoretically speaking, of course.

the one that has an fishy name? he told me he'd teach me how to base off the hangar, i told him i might be crazy but i'm not stupid. i might get linestretch. MIGHT. hahaha. i think he was joking anyway. I might end up doing a FJC, if i can find one thats pretty nearby. Cant afford to drive all the way out to a far away location and then have to spend a buttload of money on a jump course. But it looks like that might be the only route i can take. *shrugs*

yeah.. they feel that i should just go to Bridge Day, like most every other newbie that they have trained goes to. But thats such a long ways away. *shrugs*

so, a little about me first. I only have about 112 or so skydives, but alot of tracking, and quite a bit of canopy flying thrown in. I started doing CRW at 30-40-ish jumps and have done quite a few crw jumps, some with 220 sq foot OLD ASS fury canopies. so, i have a bit of experience flying around making docks, and landing bigger f111 canopies. i know making docks isnt really that important in base but i figure having that skill to be able to fly around in proximity to somebody else may be benefitial for base canopy skills. uh.. what else. I've always kept base in the back of my head, so i do alot of canopy flying, my canopy is a spectre 170 at about 1:1, i've flown the shit out of it, going backwards, complete stalls and collapses, landings in quite small areas landing off, etc. I know it doesnt do any good to ask somebody to teach me about base, at my dz its more they'll come to you when you're ready, which i can understand i guess. Oh, and i also have a cutaway, i had a malfunction which is still uhh.. yet to be determined. that was at about 1,500-1,000 feet. doubt that helps at all, but i think that its somewhat helpful in terms of trusting your equipment and having the frame of mind to do something like that. aaaaaaanyway, i'm just bored, prolly gonna get flamed out the wazooo but maybe i'll get a few benefitial posts out of this. Oh, and i've GC'ed a couple jumps. i'd just like to know what else would make people think that i am "ready" for base. and yes, i've read the articles in Blinc, and i've seen the carnage vids, thanks Tom A.

0:4:1 4 jumps.. first was a 3 way head down with Doc and some other guy to a horny gorrilla to a round. Fun jump! then uhh.. a flower (head down) exit with Blake that went fuckin' KILLER to a sit fly, then a 5 grand hop and pop supposed to be three way head down but i totally fucked up exit and ended up pulling tarek outta the plane. hahaha. WOOPS. Last jump was a solo... also did something that i probably owe beer for.

yeah i knew that.. i was just wondering if anybody had fitten a camera mount to their hurricane. i'd rather just put something on this helmet then have to bother with getting another one. *shrugs*

back when i got my hurricane helmet, a guy told me i could get a camera mount pretty cheaply for my helmet, and i was just wondering if maybe you guys knew anything about it.. i went to the skysystems site, is that dbox they sell on there made to fit hurricane helmets or just the nvertigo? i'd really like to just put a dbox on this helmet instead of buying another one. Let me know what options i have. Thanks!

i'll be there the entire time, i'm actually going with FlyAngel2 a month before or so to chicago, and then when WFFC starts i'll be staying there for the entire time. I'm hoping to have about 200 or so jumps by then and able to do more formation stuff head down and in my sit. Maybe we can get some hybrid/freefly record formations going.

you know, i've heard all this stuff about how girls arent really as beautiful as they look in the magazines, i have to disagree with that. I'm sure there's some that have been really touched up, but I've had some personal experience, and let me tell you, i didnt see anything that would need to be touched up. personally? if i were a bit buffer, and the money was there, sure. wouldnt be something i'd do for free though. hahaha.

no shit, right?!? he finished the first 3 in like 1996 or something, but i did read at the end of the Wizard and the glass that he had finished Wolves of the Calla, and that the next two were done (but roughly) and that was in 2002. He said that the 6th would be released in early 2004 and the next at the end of 2004. Somebody needs to make a movie out of this series.. it could possibly be as bad ass/more bad ass then LOTR if the right director or maybe even stephen king himself directed it.

The Dark Tower, by Stephen King. Starts off with the Gunslinger and ends with the Dark Tower which isnt even out yet. i think? Its a series of 7 books, and i'm currently on the fifth, the wolves of Calla. God i love this series. i started reading them back when i was an early teen, and i finally found this book and the 4th one, the Wizard and the Glass a couple days ago. I've never met any book(s) that have kept me as captivated and submersed as these have. Yesterday i spent roughly 7 hours straight reading The Wizard and the Glass and never once felt tired or the need for a break. DAMN do i love a good book.
