  1. Good effort to everyone involved. Even though it did'nt come off I hope everyone took back something positive that will pave the way to other attempts. Big shout out to all the Howling Brit flyers that attended!
  2. Ok lets set the record straight, Seeing as Im the original poster on Arrse.com Like you said Arrse is exactly that but not because it is arse, because everybody on there is usually seeing theirs because of red tape and poor management in the British Army, etc.... The original post was not about The Army not willing to pay for freefly coaching on a Advanced sports parachute course. Its was about, when the powers that be were offered free coaching to all students and staff members they declined because the people incharge of the course did not want to recognise the discipline! Why? Well its because freeflying is still considered a sub culture sport/discipline that requires no control and thus would be a bad influence on the students who should be learning demo landing approaches for the full two weeks etc.
  3. Some weird ones for ya. Kick over, one head up guy runs up the head down guy pushing him down and under and does a forward flip. two bummed squirel, a launch were both perfomers are sitting on each others ass facing awayback of legs on eachothers rigs. half rogan, head down grip switch through the legs. disclocater, double hand grip behind the backs flown as a eagle with camera, both guys rotatin forward trough the grip to end up head down double gripped facing eachother on the other side of the camera. loose change, syncronised layouts. dominator, headdown double hand dock grip switching when back to back.
  4. Had it happen to me on my reserve a few years back. The guy who'd done my pack job didnt stich down the reserve link covers and after a cutaway from a good old spinning Stilletto I found that two of the Link covers had shot up the lines and were creating a bit of a problem. They had got jammed in the gromets and looked like it had caused some sort of tention knot with one line groups. after pumping the breaks I had to revert back to the old millitry drills and tryed pulling down on the line group and letting it spring back up. I cleared the knot and the jam on the second attempt and proceeded to kick out of some line twists. Believe me when I say that my arse was twitching like rabbits nose through the entire event!
  5. A while ago a friend of mine, who will remain unnamed, was banned from his local DZ in the UK for posting a negative review of the DZ on the net. He was obviously unhappy with the service provided at the DZ and reacted by complaining directly to DZ staff and writing a unfavourable review on a public forum. He was subsequently banned from the DZ. Considering skydiver's are usually very passionate about the sport and where they choose to jump I can understand the reaction from DZ and staff to an extent, but as a patron and paying customer surely he has the right to openly question the service provided? This seems to me a case of quick fixing. If someone is rocking the boat it is better to throw over board/ban them than to address the problems that have been brought up?? It is obviously hard to make comment without knowing the full story but I would still like to hear your views, on the actions of the DZ and reflectively the alleged disloyal actions of the banned skydiver.
  6. Totaly chinn strapped! Im not gonna be able to attend this event!!!! I hope my place goes to another Brit flyer. There already few and far between! Anyways good luck to all the rest of the guys and girls on the event, I see you all on the next one! One things for sure there will allways be other record attempts! I hope! Hahaha. Take the grip!
  7. This record will Im sure prove to be bad ass!! Good luck to everyone involed and selected!
  8. For sure!!! Pablo is a great asset for the school and a all round top bloke! Were very lucky to have him in the team! Looking forward to joining him and Mike back at Lillo next year! Its gonna be bad ass!!!!!! Hope to see you there.
  9. Im glad you liked it! Yeah the sunset stuff is nice. I like it when theres alot going on in frame. Sunsets like that make it easy to get good footage. Im sure some of the footage was shot over Lillo at the start with the stuff of Alec and Mike training. Most of the footage is from all over. Perris, Hib, Tortuga, Lillo etc... Unfortunatly Pabs dont feature in this one. As Im stuck in the UK alot I dont seem to get as much video of him as Mikey C does. The dudes also away alot on the swoop circut kicking ass! I hope that next year I will be in a position to make a 20 min film with all the usual mayhem and showcasing each individual member doing what they do best. Looking forward to going full time for sure! Thanks for down loading
  10. Hi all, Just posted a new Euphoria promo Vid, Omniflyers, on Skydivingmovies.com, Please check it out, if you want to see what the boys have been up to in 2005. Hope ya like it.
  11. Give two Shits! Yeah such a great bloke, abusing his position as a so called Icon. All that effort sustaining that one man when there are surely more deserving people in the country. What did he do again? Oh yeah thats it, He was pretty niffty at playing foot ball!!?? Waste of time, money and other peoples sacrifice. Seems a little ironic that the weekend he does one, all the boozers are open for 24 hours! Thinking Imay come across a little harsh. F**k It!
  12. Yeah fair one? I thought Freefly was ment to be 3D flight encompassing a multitude of positions. refering to the pizza man is when your lower wing is ( in this case the arms) is pushed lower than the CofG but hey what do I know? Im pretty sure that dont feature in the art work. In fair ness I would say the figure is just flying palms up with slight Daffy? Who Knows though. Im probably just doing it wrong! Hahaha.
  13. I dont Know. I would assume that you can get one from Sonic, I wouldnt believe that they would go to all the trouble of building and developing that range and then not sell them to the general public. Check their website out maybe they go some details on there? Personally I would go with Matter and get a Matrix suit but thats just me. Have a nice day
  14. I believe it was Ippo and Alex ( AriA) that came up with the original concept of a advanced performance freefly suit. Sonic made a few prototypes about a years or so ago and after some test jumping and refinement, AriA and the Babylon boys were kitted out with that range of suit. These suits are custom made for the various flying styles of those guys with comfort and non restrictive performance being paramount. Matter and other suit manufactures following Ippos concept were also developing a similar range of suits which would have the same high performance edge and would be avalible to the punters. The Matrix suit was developed for experienced flyers who wanted that bit more comfort and performance. It was put through its paces by Nils of the Funkfyz. The suits aim is to be totally no restrictive in a wide variety of body positions, hence the reason why Nils was the "test pilot", and to alow the flyer to feel free but to still retain an appropriate amount of drag at the control areas ( Extremities). The slick front allows for fast tracking and also a fast fall rate on the front making it easier for a flyer to interact on the their front with others flyers in faster positions. As usual Matter have successfully developed, tested and produced another great range of suits for a widening gap in the market. I believe the Matrix suit to be the best freefly suit on the market!
  15. As far as I understand it is perfectly acceptable to do the test in any position or orientation. I think banging on a ton of lead and doing it on your front might be taking the p**s a bit though.
  16. Hey Partboy, You can still do the tests in the US, I did mine a while ago with Mike Swanson. Just ask around in some of the more senior Freefly circles and you'll find a registered coach that is willing to conduct the test for you. You can also contact Sven Zimmermann ( USA/GER) or Gian Carlo Trimarchi whos working at skydive Venezuela. both these guys travel quite alot ( USA and EUR) and they are both active First School instructors. I certainly applaud anyone who wishes to get their AD license. To get one requires a good degree of skill and lets you know where you are in your progression. a very usefull tool if used correctly. The AD tests still remain the only real non biased skydiving tests. Do it! "the sword of truth"
  17. Funny as f@&k!! Hahaha Where do you get this stuff from? Yeah Know where your coming from bro, the whole thing was a total farce! Hope there was some chocolate in those gongs then it would have been worth it. I wish we never turned up for that event, embaressing is all I can say! 18. Hi, Was wondering if anyone knows if there are any happening DZs in Cape town (SA), preferably where theres some freefly happening? Im going to be out there for about six weeks and was thinking about taking the rig for some fun jumping. Thanks.
  19. As FrancoR Suggested, Check out Skydive tortuga (Arezzo), The most bad ass dropzone in Italy! Great Dz, great bar, fast aircraft, super friendly attitudes, also the local towns pretty good......... Also if your into Freeflying check out The First School of Modern Skyflying! Olavs school is based there. (Instructors. Olav, Stefania and Manuel) Have a great trip.
  20. Hmmmm?? Something smells funny? could be the unusual number of fish related posts floating around this site!!? ........................................................................... I heard from Mike that he kicked you out of euphoria for not taking the training seriously enough ........................................................................... Sorry dude Im not biting, your obviously using the wrong type of bait?! go dangle your hooks somewhere else buddy or Ill set Piers on ya! A fish obssesed skydiver. Im guessing your into fly fishing? Urrgghhhh!
  21. Try this. Face off with your partner in a level sit. Keep the arms where they are as to keep stability and control. then slowly start pushing into the center with the hips with both of you pushing down harder with, say the right leg. Imagine pushing the right leg down and into the center point. you can regulate the fall rate issues with the upper body (Arms, shoulders and back of head). to speed up the carve just be more aggressive with the hips remembering to reduce your surface area by pushing a little more with the other leg and losing the arms a little.?? Hope fully this will induce a right hand carve. Tip. start off slow! remember a carve is just forward movement with a constant turn. Hope this helps out.
  22. Skydive Tortuga is one of the most friendly, chilled out, beautiful DZs around. Its next to the beautiful town of Arezzo and is surounded by rolling hills valleys and mountains. It has a nice bar/cafe that serves the best DZ food I've eaten. the DZ is also in the process of building a new hanger and offices. When I was there they only had the one porter operating but a smooth yet chilled out turnaround meant I could enjoy relaxed and comfortable skydives. Olav and Tete are there now and whilst I was there they did some great organizing over the weekend. It was awsome to fly with some of the original pioneers of modern flying and the whole atmosphere created by the staff felt like I was flying at home. The DZ is a small but has the potential to go big. It it a dz that will undoubtedly grow to meet the needs of some of the most talented flyers in the world and the student base that will be attracted. It has a very homey feel and is by far the most chilled DZ I've been to. hopefully this will not change as the DZ starts to expand. I would seriously recommend going to Tortuga, especialy if freeflying is your thing, I would think however that if you needed to seriously train hard (hard core turn arounds) then the big DZ machines in the US are still the way to go. Try this place out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  23. Yeah man, Go with the lets go skydive boys! Alot of years in the sport, super professional and a good laugh! Hard to find better AFF instructors!! Highly recomended!!!
  24. Hi, Try out Weston. Its on the up in my opinion and andy ford is based there, for sure he could help you out. In regards to Fedykins comment. Euphoria has some what fragmented and has pretty much moved away from Nethers as most of the team are now involved in other projects. However the school still remains and is now based in sunny Lillo headed up by Mike Carpenter, Pablo Hernandez and myself. Mike, Pabs and Me are the only official spokes people for Euphoria flight school (Fedykin is nothing to do with the operation of Euphoria). Other team members have moved on a little with Alec now doing tunnle training and Garry leading a more nomadic exsistance on the Brit FF scene. Ill be knocking around the Uk around September, if you would like to book some coaching with me, contact through www.freeflyeuphoria.com Look and you will find, All the best!
