  1. Ey up peeps! Where is the cheapest place to fly from up north (manchester, east mid, leeds etc) to moscow, russia? Cheers Chris
  2. Is there anyone out there who knows how you get into the film/tv industry being a skydiver/parachutist in the UK? Cheers Baz
  3. Ey up dudes! I see there are quite a few DZs in Italy and I am planning a little trip there. I was wondering were the best place to jump in Italy was and if it is easy to fly out of an airport in the north of England. (Liverpool, Doncaster, Notts, Manchester, Coventry) Any recommendations? Cheers Chris
  4. What do you need to start strapping great big camera's to ya head acording to the BPA rules dudes? Cheers Bazil
  5. Sorry to report this but the UK skydiving vibe is such a disapointment compared to the vibe out in Oz. I did my AFF in Australia this year, getting up to a level 7 meeting the most friendly, supportive and helpful people in the world of skydiving. I turned up to a dropzone in the UK (which will remain nameless) expecting to do be greated with open arms and for them to be pleased to have another young skydiver on their books. How wrong could I have been. For some crazy reason they assumed that all of my training in Oz wasnt worth the log book it was written on! My jumpmaster in Oz was more than happy to speak to the jumpmasters in the UK to discuss my progress but they actually suggested putting me through the whole of my AFF levels again! Bearing in mind it was only three weeks since my last jump and I had every jump on DVD! What makes the UK training so much better than the rest of the worlds may I ask! I appreciate that AFF is slightly different around the world but all they would hav to do is compare the two training disaplines and fill in the gaps! It now looks as though I'll be £1300 out of pocket! And yes we did use the same rigs in Oz as the UK in fact they were 220s rather than a big fat 290s!!! & I dont need a conversion to the BOC throw away. No wonder no northern, working class lads like myself are taking this awsome sport up, because it is fully of southern, rich boys who can afford to go through there AFF, 6 times over! Sorry to rant and rave but as you can appreciate I am pretty irate!
  6. Ye sorry, I posted it in the wrong place. I've already contacted tha forum bloke and told him. So sorry and glad to see you are so on the ball and full of wit. Cheers Bazza
  7. Just thought I'd tell yall about this cracking little DZ in Themes, New Zealand. Its about 1hours drive from Auckland. It is called Garlyn Skydivers and is run by Garth and Lyn funily enough! This dropzone was an absolute pleasure to continue my AFF training at. I started my AFF (Levels 1-5) in Queensland Australia, also a good dropzone, and continued here. One huge plus for me was that I was converted to the two handle reserve deployment rig, BOC (sport rig). Why other dropzones dont use these systems in AFF is beyond me because it was so much easier! Gareth was a brilliant coach and Lyn was very friendly on the phone sorting travel and accom out for me. This dropzone is soley interested in getting as many people interested in the sport as possible. They dont take any tandems at all so you can basically jump as often as the weather (& your wallet!) allows, which is often not the case in many of the backpacker, tandem orientated DZs in NZ and OZ. Also, the instructer is only concentrated on you and not the fit little Swedish girl he's taking up next on his tandem! One slight down side for me (which could be a plus for others) is that there was only us jumping at the dropzone. I loved the banter and chat between the skydivers in Queensland, but it did lack that here. It did focus my efforts on the task in hand (bending my f*****g knees hey gaz!) and passing my AFF, but I did miss chatting to a range of charaters that were presant in Queenland. Other than this minor, minor thang it was an absolute pleasure! Hope yall found this usful. Baz

  10. Anyone going to apply for the UK Skyventure instructor jobs in Milton Keynes? For those of you who havnt heard or know they are asking for instructers, managers etc... Bazza
  11. Cheers for that dude! Spoze I better get jumping!!
  12. Hello, I was just wondering guys, what is the minimum requirement to start training as a tandem master? Thing is I just travelled round Australia and I am looking to get permanent residancy and the Tandem market is huge over there. There is nothing I would like more than jumping out with Swedish chicks strapped to me for a living! My plan is to work up to Tandem Master status in the UK and move over to Oz. I know it is a long way off but I'm the type of person that needs a plan in life and a target to aim for and if I know what I hav to do it will not seem as so much of a mamoth task! I would appreciate any ideas, suggestions and information! Hope everyone is ok and blue skies to everyone! Bazza
  13. Can any of you Kiwis recommend a dropzone in the North Island of NZ to complete my AFF. Just three more levels to do!? Preferably near Aukland. Baz
