Maybe it's just me but I cannot imagine how the protesters have time to spend standing in a park. Do they just burn vacation days at work? Or are a percentage of them already unemployed? I actively protest several corporations by purchasing products from their competitors. It seems so much easier and I don't really have to travel anywhere or make signs.

Examine your TIL or HUD document. I'm sure a percentage of that 3K is pre-paid interest or 'points'. In otherwords, you may have been able to do this with less upfront money and a higher interest rate. Look at the TIL for the title costs vs points. You do realize this was a refi right? Imagine the legal shitstorm that would happen if you were able to just 'remove' a portion of the liability on a Financial Instrument. You can't just "take someone off the loan" Lucky you qualified for this without your wife, otherwise the bank would have just turned you down.
