  1. Nature took care of mine .. But feel free to rub, gals
  2. Jumping in Arizona is easy. Just aim for the grass. It has to be the right spot
  3. 3 weeks is the charm.. Go that long and you lose the reason to light up the next one.... I'll be 4 years in Jan. You can do it. So, do all ex smokers get smoochies from Skymama ???
  4. I just put in an order for an altimeter. I'll let you know if I have any issues
  5. Bill, Very informative write up.. I have been wondering what I should focus on as a newbie.. This write up has convinced me to do what I always knew was the smart move and downsize slower than I though I needed too. I curently flying a 240 and tried front riser turns on my last jump (at 4K) and their ain't no way I'm getting any action out of them now. I'll have to wait a while to work on that. Although I could use the exercise doing pull ups!! I've done flat turns at altitude since my first AFF jump. I was lucky and my instructor told me about them and said to practice them. I had to use them once when I realized I was overshooting the landing area and needed to pick a new spot. Started the turn at about 75 - 100', nice and easy and no reason to panic... Worked as advertised :) Most enlightening. Thanks!!!!!!!
  6. What license do you need to hold in order to do one of these ? I'm still a newbie but would lik to shoot for next year.
  7. Your a smart man. I have a problem with loading myself up with too much to do .. I just can't say no. I guess I'm easy
  8. I was not that nervous during AFF training, more a performance anxiety. I was real nervous the day I drove down to do my #1 Solo jump. I had to take 3 weeks off between training and the Solo... Once I was out of the plane the nerves went away and I had a blast. Pay attention to the instructors. Ask questions to make sure you are clear on what is being presented and expected of you, Relax and have fun and don't fear it. You'll do just fine .
  9. Not making a statement on right or wrong but how many people did you expect to come looking for you ?
  10. My life is all about having fun A few days down in Rosarito Baja, A weekend up in the mountains and this weekend is Vegas .. I just need to squeeze all my sports in!! Not enough weekends in the month
  11. Not yet .. I've been traveling too much on the weekends to do any jumping for a few weeks.. I hope to get busy on my coach jumps and knock out my A Card real soon tho. You keeping my Jumpsuit clean ?
  12. Does this mean expanded hours of operations ? Maybe some weekdays or still open only on the weekends?
  13. You may not be as out of shape as you think you are .. On my level 3 I felt all out of shape and asked the instructor how I can correct my sloppy exit and he commented "what sloppy exit?" I guess just the process of falling off the hill feels like your flopping around alot more than you really are. Focus on the prop and arch hard with your feet out a bit and you'll get it . Just about the time you get it wired they'll throw unstable exits at you just for fun
  14. Tell her your having and affaird and go jump instead... She'll be relieved when she finds out your just skydiving
  15. I remember seeing one on here called a buttsniffer.. If 4 do it it's called a double buttsniffer.
  16. Don't forget Coolidge. Real close to Eloy but real layed back. Good group of people too ! Otter or Porter .
  17. Like I said above : "It's not so much that I am trying to avoid anything. Just trying to nail my pattern and would rather land short than long. More room for error short than their is long so I figure it's better to error short and work forward. "
  18. My first unstable exit was the best .. You'll tumble a bit but like has been said, Arch and relax and the tumbling will stop. You doing backloops on this one too ???
  19. I'm sure I will feel that way at some point but S turn down low are still a bit spooky for me right now so I have a tendancy to want to avoid them while in the pattern right now.. Like I said, I'm sure that will change with experience.
  20. Fuel tank and tarmack It's not so much that I am trying to avoid anything. Just trying to nail my pattern and would rather land short than long. More room for error short than their is long so I figure it's better to error short and work forward. I'll try forcing myself to turn base sooner and make sure I have room for S turns in case I need them.
  21. I have heard that trick Canuk. Just can't seem to get it wired yet tho.. I'll focus on it a bit more next time and see if I can get it to work.
  22. I call mine " Noob flopping around trying to get stable" feel free to use it
  23. I thought the AFF Instructors were suppose to collect your chute , stow your toggles and carry you back to the hanger on their shoulders I may have been wrong tho .....
