  1. I can confirm that some flocking has been done with V-1s Not sure if Robi will be at the PIA, last time I spoke to him he was super busy with V-1 orders. Long flights, J
  2. Hmmm, maybe it is your capture software but those images don't look so great. Colors & definition are rough. How do they look during playback?
  3. Going back to Courteney's original post. This question is kind of like going to the one of the canopy forums and asking which is the "best" canopy. As wise men have already stated, it depends if you put Johnny"75-jump-know-it-all" OR J.C. on the toggles The next question will usually be "best for what?" CReW? Swooping? Accuracy? etc. Buying the most expensive suit on the market will not automatically make you a great wingsuit pilot. You also need to be a good pilot, which for most takes time & practice (a suitable body shape helps also i.e. not a Sumo wrestler) Manoeuvrability is a subjective thing, you can only assess this at a personal level after flying all the suits and basing it off your own experience and feelings. It is possible to draw conclusions on performance with hard data (Neptune, Protrack, GPS etc). Taking the same pilot and giving him/her time to learn to fly each suit towards max performance. This way we can measure and compare forward speed & vertical speed (to give Glide ratio) and time the freefall delay. But manufacturers tend not to publish hard "data" on a suits performance because there are so many variables. Pilot skill being the most fundamental. Performance is not all that matters with a wingsuit. Remember that price, 2nd hand value, design, comfort to use/ wear, appearance are also important criteria. I have conducted my own comparisons and made my own informed decision (and purchase). I recommend you do the same. Long flights, J
  4. Hi Paul, I went to uni in Bristol When you fly an S3 tucked up to stay with the baby birds you still have control. The same applies for the V-1, the best part being when it is time to move ahead the flock you'll have more range than anyone else But of course your piloting skills play a major part Long flights, J
  5. there are piercings you can hide Great for tapping on your beer glass to get peoples attention in the bar
  6. I wouldn't get a tat like that, already been done man.. Piercing?
  7. Hey, I will be skiing near Sion around New Year and would love to make a few of jumps weather permitting. I have a couple of leads on objects nearby but I prefer to move with local knowledge and it is always great to make new friends
  8. Nick, please make sure that the landing area is clear of all wildlife, manbird has a history long flights, J
  9. I would also like to express my gratitude Nigel. Thank you for sharing this valuable resource with us
  10. Hello Meeker, don't have any copies of BASE magazine but Milky Bar Kid has some samples of of that magazine review genre that we both enjoy (in Italian language) to give to you - let me know if the filthy prevert has kept them for himself I think our very own BASE 23(?) has some copies, post on the uk brd. I bet glamour boy has got some also J
  11. Nice post Ed, very thought provoking. May I ask which one you selected? I went for Glide Ratio. If you can fly the suit with a good GR a long freefall delay is implicit
  12. Would depend on suit design and other factors like body position. Please refine question i.e. if I add semi rigid trailing edges to my S3 will it improve performance? IMO - No
  13. You will always have a place to stay in Italy
  14. Like I wrote over on the BASE forum: Altitude difference between the LZ and exit is around 4000'. My normal delay on my S3 is around 45sec, Robert did 53sec with the V-1 BUT this was his longest flight in terms of distance flown & high opening altitude i.e. the glide ratio kicks a*s!! He ended up pulling early because he had flown so far past the LZ (and was "losing" altitude flying uphill). With the V-1 prototype he made delays over 1 minute but not covering the same distance. Robert is still getting used to the production suit so we can expect the distance (and time) figures to improve The decent rate is sloooow so at the DZ the plane will probably have finished refueling by the time you land
  15. Altitude difference between the LZ and exit is around 4000'. My normal delay on my S3 is around 44sec, Robert did 53sec with the V-1 BUT he was flying for distance not time. Like I wrote above, he ended up pulling early, with the V-1 prototype he made delays over 1 minute but not covering the same distance in such little altitude. Robert is still getting used to the production suit so we can expect the distance (and time) figures to improve
  16. On the solo flight Robert flew around 1.5 miles (maybe more). Robert flew well past the river and had to pull early as he had flown so far away from the LZ (and was losing altitude flying up the hill!) Performance on the 2 way was not as good (normal when flocking) and was probably just over 1 mile.
  17. yeah but who is the guy with the blue and black rig!? His exit sucked
  18. As skydivingmovies.com is still "full" our very own CPoxon has offered to host these videos. Nice one bruvva. http://www.poxon.org/Craig/Skydive/Wingsuit/robiv1.mp4 http://www.poxon.org/Craig/Skydive/Wingsuit/robiv2.mp4

  20. Exciting times. Jari in the wind tunnel, Robert working on the PF intermediate suit and future concepts. Jeb & the South Africans working on landing a WS . Loic is also working on a new suit I hear
  21. GB tried but he couldn't tame my wiley locks, he made it worse in fact, see attached
  22. No. Are you offering? hint hint An "official test jumper" no, Robi was just interested in hearing my opinions on his new design, as an average wingsuit pilot. (Obviously I'm not the best in the world - that has to be Miles Daisher )
  23. I couldn't agree more Ed. A great pilot like you deserves to fly the best suit
