Well now nearly six weeks in seems the silver patch isn't as good as they thought. The injury got infected so they had to open it up an clean it. Now my foot and leg are really swollen, foots cold and I have a blood clot stuck just above the knee, the surgeon says it's to swollen to operate so I'm back to injections every day and a load of pills. Well here's one that flummoxed me a little, When the Doctor had finished rollicking me he told the nurse to put a silver patch over the wound, I quipped as quick as a flash "Oh so If I'd gone private would it be a gold patch" needless to say he wasn't amused. Turns out that the patch releases silver over a six day period and helps healing, Never heard of that one. Gone fishing

Thanks, my follow up is next tuesday, It was fun watching the surgeon trying to rejoin the tendon from my big toe, as you can imagine tendon was missing around half an inch, so the first few attempts to sow it back togeather the stitches just pulled out or broke so he had to cut it back even further and used a thicker thread. A question by my son left me flummoxed. My boy is studying engineering and mechanics.
