  1. Sounds great! Is there a minimum jump number required? First seconds of freefall are the same like jumping from a not moving helicopter ? how many jumpers were onboard? dudeist skydiver # 3105
  2. according technician, it's only a matter of system installation (probably to be adjusted), you should check within the system/internet options, seems there is missing an up-date. this is what he did last day's afternoon, now it's working for me. dudeist skydiver # 3105
  3. as i hv troubles with my office computer, this afternoon our technician will be here to have a look, i will ask him about that matter and revert to you later... christel dudeist skydiver # 3105
  4. check in your own network side if you are registered as f.e. an administrator at the computer you are using. you should be authorized at your server. dudeist skydiver # 3105
  5. as an aff student?? sounds weird and somehow strange.. ?? and why 'Of course..'? as an aff student?!?! really would like to know where in germany you've been for aff...(f.e. at the us-army ?) the only place for german aff students in strong winds is: on the ground! dudeist skydiver # 3105
  6. Hi, don't go too far for AFF and consults... Spain is fully OK, made my AFF and consults in Empuriabrava, was a great time.. As long as winds are not blowing too hard, simply best place in Europe, good ppl, new built bunkhouse. I've been there several times now, always would recommend. Blue skies, good winds n good luck dudeist skydiver # 3105
  7. Adrian, this idea hopefully will not come to me: I spent so much money on skydiving! In fact, don't want to know and impossible to count all, even I kept all bills, tickets etc. And I do not regret one Cent, Penny, whatever it was. How is Eloy?? (Or was Eloy?) Will be there in several weeks...and simply love looking forward to that! Birgit is over there presently.. Empuria boogie was great... Christel dudeist skydiver # 3105
  8. my words! my feelings! cartoon is funny! dudeist skydiver # 3105
  9. Few weeks ago, in Empuria had same story: went backwards in a permanent strong wind. Imposssible to proceed to any proper landing idea, so already checked for plan B. It finally was plan C. With my pretty large canopy, I was forced to look for better landing area instead close to power lines, which suddenly were under my feet. In scary gusty winds, I approached small spot, did a PLF as ground was unclear. Never landed so far out! Never was so dirty! When walking towards Mike who picked me up with the car, around us was already landing next load, 7 - 8 jumpers, first jumpers of next plane. They enjoyeed the quick "shuttle service"! . upon arrival at manifest, the jump limit was already at stand-by. Wind situation in Empuria somehow is special. I several times noticed informations from the pilot to stop exits of students, consolidation jumpers, jumpers below 100. dudeist skydiver # 3105
  10. Hi Neil, with this tread, obviously you hit many open ears: this is my share on that, experienced last weekend after returning from several days of skydiving, meeting family and whuffo friends: 1 - why do skydivers spend such a lot of money trying to die??? 2 - why aren't your skydiver gals n pals just going to buy some sleeping pills (!!), a bottle of vodka, and ..much cheaper, quicker.... (sorry, that's just what someone said) 3- and the best: it is well known that skydivers mosly are depressive, don't see any reason for living and hence, looking forward to the reach "the other side"? didn't even start to explain anything, as since a while i'm tired of doing that.. what a bullshit at all! but who knows good standard /quick answers for those "experts"?? christel BTW: wl be in the US in spring, hope to c u.. dudeist skydiver # 3105
  11. Fully agree to that !! Only these.... dudeist skydiver # 3105
  12. Franco, if he's just the manager (GF) of this Ltd., he will be in the position to sell the plane... But nobody knows exactly the terms of his contract. It's easy to count 1 and 1, but: what in detail does everybody know? and why this engine has to be sold? probably to the favour of the Castellon dz? who knows detailed connections?? You?? Just to imagine this point... dudeist skydiver # 3105
  13. Funny shoes..... Helicopter jumps simply are a special fun, did you ever do from a big heli? 4k meters? Oh my Lord, quickest jump run ever did...There was not one second to count, just one exit after the other, just like an assembly-line (helicopter was a Super Puma) dudeist skydiver # 3105
  14. Hi you, at first you should check out what it needs for a helicopter jump. At 2nd: simply ask your instructor! He will know what to tell you. And at 3rd: It's just fun! If you decide to jump, be aware of few things: Do your exit flat (!), no matter which way, do not jump up! At first, you will fall into a big fat silence: So weird, so unexpected, be aware it needs several seconds, before you catch a freefall "air pillow"! At this stage you already lost a lot of altitude, you should be able to stabilize quick before pulling! Most small helicopters (we were 4 jumpers) only go to a certain altitude of 2k meters (5.5k to 6k ft). The ride itself is a thrill: no door, I was so lucky to sit behind the pilot in the corner. Depending on weather conditions: might be cold, anyhow it's more than simply windy! After reaching 2k m, I was totally frozen, but after a dive exit, totally relaxed, enjoying every single second! Have a nice jump and after, let's just know! dudeist skydiver # 3105
  15. fully like to sign what you said... have been there 4 times, looking forward to coming x-mas boogie next week.... and i jumped even below far than 400 and enjoyed it.. tramonatana is a mess. but every dz has its own weather conditions, isn't it? and during tramontana, you still have good chances for getting sun burned even in november... this is much more funny than sitting grounded somewhere else in europe w/o any sunshine. this is no ad for empuria, i simply enjoyed it and this my personal memory
  16. kinda weirdness..... this is a convenient way to ban demons in the year of 2003?? racking my brains a little bit... dudeist skydiver # 3105
  17. when will your arrive? I'm still looking for other jumpers to share a car from girona to empuria. ryanair changed my flight dates, so i will arrive on dec. 24, 18.00 hrs at girona. dudeist skydiver # 3105
  18. i'm so sorry, sir, Clint does not roughly sound female, not even in German language... Clint sound exactly what we have in mind: Clint Eastwood, the lonesome rider into the sunset, the male itself.... oh sorry, going down on my knees, that really hurts, cannot stop laughing, but washes away all stress of last working days.. dear Lord, i never faced such a blunder before in my life... will you forgive me one day? dudeist skydiver # 3105
  19. just was prepared to send my next attack of good advises to the poor suffering "girl" .. thank you for stopping me.... oh my lord, i'm going to be drowned in my own tears, am roaring with laughter, just to imagine the "pretty face of that girl" watching all men running after her.... feel pain in my belly, can't stop this, and still another hour of work to be done.. how to explain to my distingued white haired boss, why i'm looking like a falcon, black stripes running down my cheeks, mascara is disappearing... dudeist skydiver # 3105
  20. ...and? where's the problem? dudeist skydiver # 3105
  21. ok, you are smoke free! what a great deal! now it's 12.00 pm (i guess) on dec 3, and yu do not smoke!! or do you? after night's just over? much more men will run after you because you are the best looking girl around, you know? clear face, bright eyes, wonderful odour...! this is reason why! (or: will be the reason why??) check it out.. dudeist skydiver # 3105
  22. oh my god, the alcohol! this really is hardest part at all. the best is, not to stop smoking and stop having your drink, whatever it might be. enjoy your wine, beer ... but do it slowly! avoid drinking too quick, this will soak your resistance .. stay strong! resist! your body, skin (and the men running after you!) will be the best proof! you did the right thing! simply resist! from day to day, it will become easier, just wait.... hey, how many did you smoke today! to be honest...? dudeist skydiver # 3105
  23. do not give up! be proud about yourself, your hands will find something new to do instead of holding a shit burning cigarette...needs time, will come anyhow! watch your face in the mirror: isn't the skin looking much better than before? do not give up! you already passed the hardest part of beeing a new non-smoker! try to avoid "smoking" situations, such as bar, meeting friends for coffee, do it for a certain time... (i used to go to bed instead of being with my family, meeting friends. just close the door..) suddenly you will discover: you do not need to smoke your pen! the pen in your fingers is no cigarette...be proud, be strong, sometimes nights are very hard, i was unable to have good nights with minimum 5 to 6 hrs of sleep.. waking up completely wet. but this depends. i was smoking for 15 years. today, i am really happy this bad smelling period of my live is over.... and my mirror is telling: lady, you left the age of 20th behind you, but your skin: congrats! and the smell of a smoking girl! ugly...for puke.. dudeist skydiver # 3105
  24. funny 5... dudeist skydiver # 3105
  25. did you carefully close all the small holes in your goggles with clear tape stickers? that's important! try it... half of my jumps i did/do with lenses, half with glasses. lenses are much more comfortable. for glasses, i use goggles w/o tapes, of course... dudeist skydiver # 3105
