  1. i totally agree.... im a noob, and i have to say that i do (at times) have some v good information to put accross. i pick stuff up, and when i feel its appropriate to put it accross i do so. however i would not put any information accross that i wasnt certain of its credability and accuracy especially if it could risk a life, becides i think theres a lot of stuff that us noobs can offer, i mean do u pro's want to be answering noob questions that ive seen asked on here soooo many times (i know coz ive asked them before myself). i can see it would get pretty annoying.... Lets hope that makes a bit of sense... i didnt proof read or anything CrazyDave
  2. i guess it really depends on what type of jump you are wanting to do. if its solo's its advisable to get the appropriate training and licence first, unless you plan on stopping near a dz long enough to do it all. (approx price £1000+ and dont forget the consol jumps (may also depend on the countries variations of the courses)) if its tandem your after, i'd say that your unlikely to get anything for below the equivelent of £185 per jump. and if your wanting a video also then u will have to consider the cost of putting a cameraman in the sky, erm... if i remember rightly it is around £70 at hibby in the uk, but not sure about other countries. hope that helps if it doesnt just tell me and ill refrain from posting until completely sober (i love xmas) CrazyDave
  3. we have heard this type of thread so many times... and as has been said before, the statistics are one thing, but the presence of reall world variables and other constants greatly effects the 'statistics' accuracy.
  4. the equivelant of a first floor balcony was my lowest jump... almost broke my ancle
  5. i have a video of my first ever jump on VHS....... i assume its possible to move vhs to a pc..... now how can i do it without wasting 2 much money? + how can i do it...? Cheers CrazyDave
  6. !!!!! Blumin hilarious! i really hope i dont do that on my jumps!
  7. lol...... is there anyone who isnt drunk.
  8. nicely put... i think that any sport is dangerous to an extent, everything has a risk factor, its just skydiving has a slightly higher one, as rendezvous said, it all depends on how much you are willing to take and what price are you willing to pay. think about this..... if it wasnt risky and wasnt an adrenaline rush would it be actually done?. anyway isnt driving a car suposed to be more dangerous (i dont want to start one of those statistical car vs skydiving threads)
  9. Also, it might sound like you're saying "jump ME" if taken out of context. You know how some skydivers think.LOL hehe i know wot ya mean....
  10. I'd say that if you want to get into the sport quick and have money to spare use AFF - you dont get as much canopy time, but they teach u all the fun rolls and flips n stuff. If you dont have access to large sums of cash up front (in skydivers terms), then Static line is a good one to choose, you get more canopy line and have the oppertunity to be eased into the sport. however this one can be very long winded and if the weather is bad then it can be even longer. overall outcome is with about the same qualification, but in static line you have more jumps under your belt....
  11. you forgot no chute..... oh wait that wouldnt be fair..........................
  12. wow.... you really do need to use bittorrent to do it
  13. ahh yes that would be a good substutute. torrent files, then as u said all the stuff is distributed among all the video holders, all the site would require is to store the torrents, but would they use suprnova as the host or do it on their own still?
  14. lots of blindfolds? hehe . the pic i always liked was of the guy hanging off his rig whilst it was deployed.... but i cant remember who did that, was he french?
  15. Over water. - Jim hehe.., we can think of so many dangerous spinoffs on blind packing contests!
  16. We never used the trap door. It was inoperable when we leased it. I believe that it belonged to freefall express. I do like the big side door on it though. the door would be ace!
  17. i know someone that had both chutes open during a static line jump..... he forgot about the time delay and pulled his reserve when he thought the main hadnt opened... then the main opened, apparently he had a very soft landing. the instructor told him not to do it again!
  18. hehe... apart from the fact that it wouldnt make much difference to the danger aspect, unless your in the city jumping off a high building you might have a bit of car trouble tho
  19. packing blind.......... isnt that almost as bad as jumping without the chute! - apart from the less certain death. to add another thrill element to this they could try to do the whole jump blind as well.... (headlines: man lands on shed, my hamster got squashed by superman etc.)

QuoteI'm a meatatarian, I don't believe in the senseless slaughter of innocent plants. Quote hehe
  21. the rig has 2 be the mosti important bit of kit.... without it we wouldnt be able to jump, unless we tried to hold on to the main in a strange hop n pop jump.... pop would probably not really apply, hmmm where was i going with this. ahh yes u dont want ur rig 2 get shagged so renting is probly a gud idea
  22. i keep tryin to get m8s to jump with me but all that i get is YES of course ill do that... but how much does it cost. and then i tell them, and then they run away saying ill buy my football boots instead
