well i had sum of the usual dreams about bouncing... and i occasionally get one where i go to do my aff and dont do any training.. we jump out of the plane only to be told on the ground after that i failed coz i forgot to do something... but when u havent bin taught anything its sorta hard to know what 2 do :p there was also another one i had once about a vertical wind tunnel without those big fans.... it was shaped like a swimming pool, and even had a deep and shallow end, i remember clearly that little children with armbands were in the shallow end learning to 'swim' - if u can call it that in this situation. pretty wierd if u ask me..!

I have finally recieved my updated copy of the handbook... at first glance this book looks really good and informative, i have heard from many people that this is like a bible to the skydiving community, and was wondering.. what do you guys think? i also want to know just how much of the information is relative to UK training etc?

its probably been heard before. but how much and where can i do these? i live in the uk and see the balloons on summer evenings but would i be able to persuade one to let me jump... dont they need sum sort of licence to say that i can do it off them?

i guess... those military boys got all the funding they want. what sort of people r using these things? i know u say emergancy egress systems, but does it open in the way a regular chute opens.?

i can see this leading back to the is it safer than driving debate... this is debated on soooo many occasions, and should really be layed to rest by now

i'd of thought that if they were scared that they wouldn do it.... so howd u think that makes ur question sound

cheers for the advice guys. ill get on my tredmill straight away, and luks like im taking my dad up on the offer for the 3 peaks again. the second time now it will be... hopefully ill beat the 10 hour mark by more than 1 minute this time

my dad wants to do a tandem but wouldnt pluck up the courage to do it.... so its just me until i rope some m8s into joining me in aff

wot sorts of exersise would get me more prepared for my aff this year?, im not talking major workouts or anything, but the stuff i can get nearby i.e. tredmill dumbells... wot helps?

nice dreams guys... most of my dreams seem to be about skydiving at the moments. the magority are about haveing double mals, but occasionally i get a wierd one! hmmm.... i keep having one where im on my aff training, and the instructore doesnt give any ground skool prior to the very first jump!. for some reason when we jump he is attached to my front (like in tandem), and i almost successfully complete the jump because of my Dropzone learnt info, and then becasue im just below pull alti, the instructor pull's 4 me. we land, and he simply says that ive failed, i complain about the lack of ground skool, but he says that you have to pass aff level 1 before you get it.! (and now 4 day 2) so the next day im at the dz again, and ask about the ground skool. the instructor ignores me and we go through the same jump again, with him telling me ive failed. this time however there is a newcomer to the course, who is also told that he failed the level. even though he did not jump because of arriving after the plane had left.. so after more complaining and getting failed for the 2nd time, i simply go into the dz shop, and buy a keyring. and then i wake up ! ill tell you the other dream later if you want... its about a swimming pool style wind tunnel!

i want it...... ill send you a postal order for $20.00 hehe, pleeeze

i understand what your getting at. which is why i generally only tell people information im certain about. i wouldnt go on about canopy flight or anything like that because as you said... i havent experianced that situation, i'd prefer to talk about things i know, and not risk people's lives because of a stupid incorrect post.

wow ive never heard that one before.. can they be re-used after pull, wouldnt it be quite expensive to do the vacumm packing after each jump? also.. does it require special materials for the container?
