  1. Chris Miller Fall from the skys instructor is freindly, patient and a good teacher. He took me to Spain to do AFF, I enjoyed the whole experience. Once passed I felt confident enough to go to any dropzone, hire kit and jump. I passed the course in 11 jumps (2 rejumps were due to fatigue, too much beer!!!) Thanks Chris if your reading.
  2. Maybe I am weird but I read Incidents mostly. I like to know what can wrong and then think of ways I could avoid those situations.
  3. a woman i worked with had her car stolen. it was a crappy hyundai and she wasnt really bothered just the inconvenience. She got a call off the police two weeks later they had found it. When she went to pick it up the copper said someone was trying to sell it at a car auction. she looked around it'd had a full valet and a new 12 month MOT certificate in the glove box. so she got it back in better condition than it left!!!
  4. I am quite sure anyone promoting the sport will be responsible enough to say, yes accidents do happen we can avoid this by............ We all need to promote the sport in the best light we can, lets help each other. Dont say you cant tell anyone its a safe sport.......lame O.
  5. Have you been in touch with the BPA? They may subsidise, with a view to your uni bringing more people to the sport. You maybe able to ask your local DZ's to give you "special" prices as you intend bringing lots of extra people.
  6. you need to get in touch with the jackass dwarf, get him on tandem then cut him loose about 20 foot over water.
  7. Shit Mike, I hope I never bump into you and spill your beer!
  8. I know he learned for point break but i dont know if he continued.
  9. its a free world, what harm is a bit of banter. Its good to lock horns now and again, keeps the blood pumping!
  10. i left my dog and bone in my pocket and its was ringing whilst under canopy. I was tempted to answer but thought better of it as i am still inexperienced and it would be a bugger if i dropped it!!
  11. I keep hearing this, I have not had mine yet.
  12. The way I was taught when to flare was: Wait till you are scared then wait until you are really scared, then flare. Imagine you are on the shoulders of somebody and when there feet are on the floor flare firmly with arms straight down (locked out).
  13. That was a cool programme, the best bits for me was when he jumped about 9 feet across to a lower wall that was only one brick thick (laid the shortest way). and he was jumping from one railing to another then did a black flip off one on the next pushed off that into the middle of a road!!!!
  14. there is always one who has to spoil it.

  16. I have sent the last weeks doing nothing but watching films and wan.......oh thats for another thread! Get my pot off on thursday.
  17. i have seen worst jokes posted...i think.
  18. Your probably dreaming about skydiving because its on your mind constantly. I dreamed I had a mal and pulled my handles in the wrong order. I got away with it and got a roasting when I got down.
  19. I think if you do any sport at some point you will have an injury. Hope fully minor, but not always. Even croquet, you could drop the ball on your toe or hit your shin with the bat (whatever its called).
  20. I purposely did not post this in Incidents because the info I have is second/third hand. I just talked to a good friend of mine who was at Hibaldstow today. Apparently someone was killed at Bridlington 2/3 weeks ago. Apparently all was well until they initiated a hard toggle to avoid trees. I dont have anymore info than this.
  21. I paid for my (now ex) girlfriend to do AFF last year in spain. She was sensible enough to understand the danger and she soaked the groundschool training up like a wet sponge. After 6/7 jumps she'd had a few hard openings and a couple of crap landings. She had very badly bruised thighs, shoulders and knees. She then decided it wasnt for her, but she did it, stayed safe and enjoyed it. I think if your friend takes in the safety proceedures and stays safe, in time she wil realise the real dangers and appreciate what she is doing.
  22. i will be the first to admit it. It was 5 years ago honest. I got so drunk passed out on a family members couch. It was a sofa bed that they had unfolded for me in their lounge. I woke up the next morning and realised what I had done, pissed me self!!! So I folded it up and said nothing. They used to have their neighbors cat in the house sometimes. So when someone sat on the couch later in the morning, after about 15 minutes it had soaked though to their pants. So I said I saw the neighbours cat on there when I had got back from the bathroom and they believed me. edited so it reads better.
  23. Nice company you work for. Have fun.
  24. Thanks for eveybodies comments. You have confirmed what i suspected already. I have recently had a slight accident, I f*!cked up on landing. I dont want to be in same situation under a smaller canopy. I have resided myself to using club gear (larger canopies) until I sort out my rig or get another.
