  1. It was not the first time for to Thor Alex. A few years earlier he was in the same situation on top of bridgepylon. A cop sneaked up behind Thor Alex just as he was going to jump, and grabbed him! Thor Alex didn't quite like it, so he pushed the cop down to the floor, grabbed his throat and said (free translation) "Just be still! I'm a lot more bad ass than you are.". Well... he got some shit for doing that, but had it been in the states he would probably still be alive, doing time in a "correctional institute" somewhere... /Micke N Team Bautasten
  2. Well, isn't that typically american cops? Treat everyone as criminals until proven innocent. I seem to remember a picture not long ago of a 100 year old woman protesting against the Iraq war, getting handcuffed. Nice job, cops! If I was in Jebs shoes, on that ledge, my face would probably look something like his. I'd like to see Jeb and the securityguards on Rikki Lake. Topic: "Dude! You almost killed me and don't even know it!" /Micke N Team Bautasten
  3. Two Sonys, a HC1 and a PC1000. /Micke
  4. Faber, I heard you guys had a lot of fun, and made a lot of jumps Would have been fun, but spent this easter kitesurfing and skydiving with a couple of swedish BASE-jumpers /Micke
  5. Hmmm.... I don't know. We made a pile of DVD's and sent them to a few friends. We haven't really thought about making business of it, we did it for fun. But we have discussed it, to make it available somehow. I'll have to get back to you on that. /Micke Team Bautasten
  6. Thanks for the kind words But the ARE subtitles! Did you try the "Subtitles"-option in the main menu? Micke Team Bautasten
  7. I would say 24 hours is more realistic. Micke N Team Bautasten

  9. It's quite amazing to see how people still stick out their necks and tell about jumps where things got bad, even though they know all they get back is a lot of shit. WAY TO GO ERIC!!! /Micke N Team Bautasten I would NEVER tell about my two strikes on this forum
  10. Check Boneheads site again, http://www.boneheadcomposites.com/cammount.htm there's one for HC1. /Micke

Last october Team Bautasten spent a couple of weeks in western USA. There were a lot of miles covered, a lot of jumps made, and a lot of new experiences. There also was a lot of filming. Team Bautasten - USA Tour 2005 will soon be available for a selected few. Until then... here's the trailer, http://www.kjerag-it.com/Pic/TBTrailer.wmv Mikael Nordqvist Member of Team Bautasten
  13. What's the deal with americans and jail? Is jail the common solution to all bad that's going on? "The guy is dead. Somebody needs to go to jail!" "The guy is NOT dead. Somebody needs to go to jail!" Please tell me this is not the general opinion in USA, please tell me it's only this CSpenceFLY dude..... and maybe a few rednecks. /Micke N Team Bautasten
  14. The HC1 is an amazing camera, the quality of the footage is just crazy! I've made a few BASE jumps with my camera (no skydives yet) and it works really well. If you shot in HDV mode you can STILL export (to a TV-set or a computer) in miniDV, and the miniDV quality is really great as well. The DV-export-functionality is good to have if you need to edit in DV, or if you don't have a HD-ready TV. But... buy that TV! Once you have seen the HDV quality you never wanna go back to miniDV!!! /Micke Team Bautasten
  15. I don't drink, I don't do drugs. So when you all went "partying"..... I went to sleep It was a GREAT roadtrip! We'll be back /Micke Team Bautasten
  16. I believe it's Martin, member of Team Bautasten. OK, Martin is the prettyboy of the team, and a bit girlish... but I don't see any tits on the videoclip... /Micke Team Bautasten

I understand the box is large enough to give some space between the pc-handle and the wing. But won't the large wing cover the handle when you reach for it??? /Micke N

" Pull time? Although the rig is submerged into the “rig box ©” for aerodynamic efficiency, access to the hackey is in no way obscured. The design of the wing does not allow for the repositioning of the BOC pouch on the leg for example." Can anyone with experience of this suit please comment on that. How can the pilotchute NOT be obscured by the wing? It looks pretty embedded to me. http://www.jii-wings.com/gallery/wings05.jpg /Micke N
  20. There are several walls in the 3-valleys of northern Norway that has seen 30+ freefalls without any tracking- or wingsuits. I would guess there are even higher walls in the Alps/Dolomites, you just need to find them /Micke N TEAM Bautasten
  21. Good points. Tracking is fun and there are lots of new toys out there to help you go faster and further. But you need to know your stuff. What should help you make a safer jump could very easily make it a lot more dangerous if you don't know how to use it. And in the quest for "the perfect flight" or "the longest track"... don't forget to have fun! /Micke N TEAM BAUTASTEN
  22. Me and my girlfriend Madelene is also on "the first batch" Maximum performance and quadruple "minuteman" is old. Aerobatic is the next level. This will be fun! /Micke N Team Bautasten
  23. Don't underestimate the importance of making a lot of skydives with the pouch before taking it to BASE. It might be easy to find under normal conditions, yes, but I would say it's a definite risk that in a stressed situation an untrained jumper would go for the BOC. If I remember right (correct me if I'm wrong) a jumper went in from a high cliff in U.S. a few years back trying to find the PC at the wrong location (this was not a wingsuit jump). /Micke N Team Bautasten
  24. Darren, Glad you're alive! Wingsuit BASE is a dangerous game, and largewinged suits even more so. Couldn't agree more about your conclusions, large wings and BOC is a bad combination. The legpouch is good step in the right direction. 2001 I had a similar experince with the Skyflyer. The previous year I'd done a few Kjerag jumps with the Classic. No problems and a lot of fun. Now with the Skyflyer I expected the wings might cause me problems, since I had a few skydives where the wing folded over the PC handle. Kjerag Skyflyer jump 1: wing folded over the PC, next try OK. Kjerag Skyflyer jump 2: wing folded over the PC, next try same shit, third try used plan B (followed pouch from left to right), found it! If I had a reserve, I would have pulled it. Prior to the 2:nd jump I dirt dived A LOT. In flight I mentally practiced pulls. Initiated the pull HIGH. These two jumps made me switch back to the Classic, which I luckily brought as backup, and made some nice cliffjumps. Me and the rest of Team Bautasten, discussed a lot about what happened, why it happened, and what one could do to prevent it. We came to the conclusion that with large wings we need at least one of two things: 1. Really long rigs 2. An alternative placement of the PC. We decided an alternantive placement, preferably on the leg, was the best option. I asked Robert to think about it, and a couple of weeks later he jumped a prototype. There are still improvements needed to the legpouch, but it's way better than the BOC option. Also, as others have pointed out, you need to put a lot of skydives on it to get familiar with it. It's very easy to locate, but in a stressed situation it's also very easy to get back to "old behavior" and go for the BOC, which might end bad if you're at 400ft. Also, many people do have a larger percent of weak pulls using the legpouch. You really don't want to put the PC on your back while wearing those large wings... Please, be careful. /Micke N BASE 268 Team Bautasten
