That is awesome.. however, make the hospital work with you. They should be able to reduce the total bill by around half if you're actually paying on it. Tell them that you know the charges are elevated to compensate for contractual write offs for insurance companies. They know its fair and they'll do it. Every hospital has financial counselors.

I dated a man for 2 years who had herpes. I did a lot of research on it, and a couple of things surprised me. The type of herpes you have is determined by where you have it, and its all transferrable. So if you're with someone who has a mouth sore, they can infect you by having oral sex, and then you have Type 2, whether you like it or not. Type 2 can also be spread to the mouth as Type 1. You can absolutely spread it even if youre not having an outbreak. Outbreaks are often stress-related. Women who have it shouldn't deliver babies vaginally. C-sections are recommended to prevent infecting the baby. The guy was right to give you a choice on this. You'll just have to make the choice that works for you.

This is why ER bills are so expensive. People with no money and no insurance come in, get treated, and leave with a bill in hand, that they never pay. The company I work for owns 7 hospitals, and we write of *BILLIONS* per year in uncollectable self pays. Its totally unacceptable. The other reason your bill is so high is that you're seeing the same prices your insurance company is charged. INSCO's have contracts with hospitals where they agree that they'll pay 20% on certain procedures, 40% on others.. when you have insurance, your bill is settled for much less than the actual amount on the bill. I'm not saying its right. Its the way it is, for now anyway. Like others said, use the ER for broken, bleeding, unconscious, heart attacks, and things otherwise considered EMERGENCIES. How can you expect a misused system NOT to be broken?

This is one of the reasons I moved to Atlanta. Skydive Alabama, 2 hours away, you can throw up a tent or sleep in the hangar. If youre going to drive 2 hours, you may as well drive 4 hours and stay all weekend at The Farm. This is probably more of the scene you're looking for.

Bumping this up.. its not too far off! Going to try to make this boogie.. and I'd love to do some organized RW jumps. Ideally.. I'd like to find a group of less than 15 to learn some big way skills with. Theres a GA record attempt coming up next year. But really I'll do whatever as long as its fun and I'm learning something.
